Emulators

I know this topic has always been beaten to death but I havn't found anything related to the HTC Touch Pro 2/Tilt 2. I've been looking for NES/SNES/Genesis emulators and I've tired a few, most of them are really laggy especially with sound.
Has anyone found any that work? And if so, did you mod it at all to play better on the Touch Pro 2?
Thanks!
bump. anyone?
A lot of people say morphgear works well. I have it and I think I have an older version because it gives me an error code. I would like to have the newest one. Smartgear is another option but it doesnt to SNES games like morphgear.
For Playstation I have FPSEce and have FF7. It works but is too laggy for me. I just play it on my PSP now.
Anyone have any other info?

Mind to try it with different gfx driver and give us feedback if there are any improvements?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546522
...would try it myself, but right now i dont have time to STFW on psx game images
I installed that cab and it did not do anything for the emulators i've tried, smartgear and pocketnester. Still real laggy.

Unfortunately, Universal's keyboard can only register one keypress at once (at least with the Windows Mobile driver, I think Linux distributions can register multiple presses). That means you can't move and jump/shoot at the same time, for example. You're pretty much limited to turn based RPG and strategy games, even if you can get an emulator working.
You could try a bluetooth keyboard or even a gamepad and see how that works, if emulation's very important to you.

Does anyone know of a dreamcast emulator?
Just watched a video of a CPS2 emu running Marvel vs Capcom on the Play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V29sb73bhKI
this cellphone is the best for emus, even if decent exclusive games take a long time I think the wait won't be that bad.

What version of n64oid?
You will not be able to pick up n64oid as it has been taken off the market to work better. Developer put it up on his twitter I think I remember reading.
There is a dreamcast emulator in development but it may be past the capacity of the Xperia Play.

Version 1.1.4.
And you can get any of the emulator's I have from other source's hint Google search engine is your friend.
FPSE is still on the market.
NESoid, SNESoid, N64oid works great.
FPse has some problems with the compability of games. But games that actually load works good.
Hi,
Doesn't the xperia play come with its own ps1 emulator?
I heard that there are official ps1 games in the market.
Also if it has its own ps1 emulator does it play ALL ps1 games?
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
yes there is an app or function to play ps1 games already on the phone but SE are using some wierd setup/format for their games to run with it, i've checked crash bandicoot files already, never seen the format before. so its not a case of drag and drop your old ps1 classic ISOs on the mem card and be done with.
try FPse for ps1 emulation. not as good or compatible with all games like the official playstation pocket app is, but until someone finds out a way to port games from ISOs to the format SE are using, its our only option.
Best Super Nintendo emu: Snes9x EX (free, no ads )
PC Engine: PCE emu, from same developper.

has anyone tried to map a input to the O button on the gamepad on any emulator?
when i try it always backspaces out of the menu , i can map all the other buttons just fine except the O button
i havnt seen anyone else complain about that so im guessing there is a way around this?
O is generally the "back" button. In Snes9x EX I had to remap the exit key since it was the O standard.
New to Droid.
Hey guys, I'm sitting here with a brand new Xperia Play and I just converted from iPhone. I'm a rather experienced jailbreaker and have been on the iPhone train since the first model. I'm feeling so lost on Droid that I just barrely managed to change the wallpaper, haha, just so u know what kind of situation I'm in.
So, I downloaded a couple of emulators but I can't seem to get them to run games.
I figure this is because my device isn't rooted?
If that's the case, can someone give me a dummie guide on how to root the xperia play? I'm on gingerbread 2.3.2. Thx.

At the moment, there's no way to root the Xperia play. However, you will most likely not need root for anything you want to do, as this is Android and not iOS. Root on Android is usually used to install custom roms, themes, to overclock the device or tune CPU settings and the like. Everything else, like emulators, works right out of the door.
Every emulator works differently, some of them require a bios rom. You'll have to look around to find out how to get them.

Every emulator works differently, but all of them require a bios rom. You can get one of those installed easily by downloading the app "Emulator Roms" and pick one of the roms, for example a GBA game. When you choose it, you can either press "download" or "One Click Setting GBA BIOS" - press that button and you're ready to go on GBA. It works the same for SNES and whathave you ^^

That's pretty much it, yep. It's not all that different than an emulator on your PC would work.
The EmulatorROM site that the emulator provided isn't available for download so I found another program but it just downloaded the 7zip files, which are unusable? Should I connect to a PC and unzip in the folder to make it work? :X

Best PSX emulator available?

Like the title says; just wondering what the best playstation emulator is available for my Xperia play?

I like FPSE as well. Being able to use the original ISO's is a big plus for me. I've tried PSXperia which allows you to use the native emulator included with the Play, but I can't for the life of me to get anything to work. Other have had better luck though. I like the simplicity of just copying an ISO (ripped from my original PS1 discs on my PC) to my SD card and away I go.
Can anyone message me the sites to download the ROMS,thanks.

Use google. Warez are not condoned here. A quick google search for PSX roms will give you plenty of options
Got to be FPse, works brilliantly. Dug out my old PS1 games and brought back memories.
Not tried any other Emulators but if the one I have works then there is no need to change to another
I like psxexperia - integrates games into applications list and native ps emulator on play. Beautiful

It's really nice to use the dual pads on the original play emulator
Sent from my XPlay using XDA App.
I prefer the Native Emulator and all the games i like work on it so PSXPERIA FTW.
Not only does it convert games to APK it also halves their size so no need to have 700meg ISO on your phone if you can have a 5 meg APK and 300meg game data.
The graphics are also superior on the Native Emulator.

There is a program called PocketISO (find it using google), it compresses and can even rip game image files, it works really well and often gets surprisingly small sizes out of big images. The outputted compressed file is compatible and actually recommended with FPSE.
If you haven`t used the tool yet go get it and free up some of that valuable storage space
Oh that's good for FPSE.
Still no touch pad control or better graphics.
I'm playing GT on psxperia... With the touchpad control =p
And brave fencer mushashi

Problems
I used the tools to modify. Megaman Legends 2, the problem is that around 80% of the screen flickered with a black background and I wasn’t able to play it, with Megaman X4 it played the anime cut scenes (sadly those don’t play on FPse, but the game runs good) but when I start a new game it happens the same thing of the screen, am I doing something wrong? Or these games simply don’t work well on the native emulator?

Have you tried the software rendering trick to fix the screen flickering?
If not I recommend you this: PSXPERIA: How to increase compatibility of the native emulator with more games
I believe Megaman X4 should run properly after you do that.
apologies if i'm being thick here but i just want to confirm it before i go searching for no reason. is PSXPERIA the native emulator already installed?

In general people use this term to refer to the use of native emulator already installed on Xperia Play, but actually by itsself PSXPERIA is a tool by an XDA developer designed to convert PSX images into an apk and some SD data which you then install on Play and place data on your SD. After that your game appears as any native game on your Play and in the Playstation Pocket and/or your Xperia Play Launcher. Then you play it exacly same way as the Playstation games which came built in with the device or were purchased on the Market.
Thanks for that. Be good to get some of the old games on the phone
Tom
