I downloaded the emulator but when i tried loadin a rom it didnt read it in the loading file??? anyone have any idea i really want the NES emulator those games are classiks...up down up down left right left right B A select start lol...

pocketnester is the best NES emulator for the pocketpc. I've tried 4 different ones and PocketNester performs the the best on most roms.

if you have java you can use mobiles24.com you have to sign up (free) and ten you get about 30 dl's a day. there are some ok time killers in there. some are hit and miss with installation. im guessing you have a herald/wing, so you need to select games at 240x320 screen size. give it a shot. after dl open esmertec jbed and menu/install/local files. good luck

There are some emulators for your herald. With these you can download and play nintendo, super nintendo and playstation games.
Here is a link to the emulators:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369855

?
does playstation actually run well on the herald? even on my PC (dual core, 2gb ram, x850 platinum video card) there are parts of games that can lag up terribly (during some 3d FMV's and such).
I assume you definitely have to be running a pretty stripped down rom to use it at all playably... would OTP7 be too bulky to run the playstation emu on?
thanks =)

works fine for me.
and it runs *smoothly* on PSX games? wow
thx! =)
I just flashed to OPT 7.3.1, and pocketSNES runs SLOW - it ran slow on the stock ROM as well, but I was hoping a better rom would fix the problem. oh well.
do you have any tips or tweaks for me to speed up my PocketSNES gameplay?
I can't imagine emulating PSX on this phone if even the SNES emu runs slow.....

ANY GOOD PS1 Emulators??????

If you didn't know already, im a pro gamer.
And i usually get sent out to Los Angeles to film some Footage for Directv.
And sometimes, i get to play live.
I usually end up play Classics, like Tekken 3 for the Ps1
And i have tekken 3 for pc and Ps1...
But i was wondering, if i could put it on my Mobile Windows?
So that i can play in the airplain, or just to keep my skills sharp.
I know the possessor of my Hermes is strong enough (400Mhz)
Let me know if theres any Emulators that let me play ISO.
Thanks
Emulation isn't all that easy.
Also, why don't you already own a PSP for this purpose? PSX ISOs work decently.

-thanks
this is a bug
dont start it over the icon, run it over the .exe or just wait for v1.0
400mhz with version 0.95/0.96b will be slow..
but the new version will run way better and is coming out soon
this isn't the place for questions.
please refer to the Q&A section.
thank you

Emulators

I know this topic has always been beaten to death but I havn't found anything related to the HTC Touch Pro 2/Tilt 2. I've been looking for NES/SNES/Genesis emulators and I've tired a few, most of them are really laggy especially with sound.
Has anyone found any that work? And if so, did you mod it at all to play better on the Touch Pro 2?
Thanks!
bump. anyone?
A lot of people say morphgear works well. I have it and I think I have an older version because it gives me an error code. I would like to have the newest one. Smartgear is another option but it doesnt to SNES games like morphgear.
For Playstation I have FPSEce and have FF7. It works but is too laggy for me. I just play it on my PSP now.
Anyone have any other info?

Mind to try it with different gfx driver and give us feedback if there are any improvements?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546522
...would try it myself, but right now i dont have time to STFW on psx game images
I installed that cab and it did not do anything for the emulators i've tried, smartgear and pocketnester. Still real laggy.

Unfortunately, Universal's keyboard can only register one keypress at once (at least with the Windows Mobile driver, I think Linux distributions can register multiple presses). That means you can't move and jump/shoot at the same time, for example. You're pretty much limited to turn based RPG and strategy games, even if you can get an emulator working.
You could try a bluetooth keyboard or even a gamepad and see how that works, if emulation's very important to you.

N64oid - N64.

SNesoid - Super Nintendo.
Does anyone know of a dreamcast emulator?
Just watched a video of a CPS2 emu running Marvel vs Capcom on the Play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V29sb73bhKI
this cellphone is the best for emus, even if decent exclusive games take a long time I think the wait won't be that bad.

What version of n64oid?
You will not be able to pick up n64oid as it has been taken off the market to work better. Developer put it up on his twitter I think I remember reading.
There is a dreamcast emulator in development but it may be past the capacity of the Xperia Play.

Version 1.1.4.
And you can get any of the emulator's I have from other source's hint Google search engine is your friend.
FPSE is still on the market.
NESoid, SNESoid, N64oid works great.
FPse has some problems with the compability of games. But games that actually load works good.
Hi,
Doesn't the xperia play come with its own ps1 emulator?
I heard that there are official ps1 games in the market.
Also if it has its own ps1 emulator does it play ALL ps1 games?
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
yes there is an app or function to play ps1 games already on the phone but SE are using some wierd setup/format for their games to run with it, i've checked crash bandicoot files already, never seen the format before. so its not a case of drag and drop your old ps1 classic ISOs on the mem card and be done with.
try FPse for ps1 emulation. not as good or compatible with all games like the official playstation pocket app is, but until someone finds out a way to port games from ISOs to the format SE are using, its our only option.
Best Super Nintendo emu: Snes9x EX (free, no ads )
PC Engine: PCE emu, from same developper.

has anyone tried to map a input to the O button on the gamepad on any emulator?
when i try it always backspaces out of the menu , i can map all the other buttons just fine except the O button
i havnt seen anyone else complain about that so im guessing there is a way around this?
O is generally the "back" button. In Snes9x EX I had to remap the exit key since it was the O standard.
New to Droid.
Hey guys, I'm sitting here with a brand new Xperia Play and I just converted from iPhone. I'm a rather experienced jailbreaker and have been on the iPhone train since the first model. I'm feeling so lost on Droid that I just barrely managed to change the wallpaper, haha, just so u know what kind of situation I'm in.
So, I downloaded a couple of emulators but I can't seem to get them to run games.
I figure this is because my device isn't rooted?
If that's the case, can someone give me a dummie guide on how to root the xperia play? I'm on gingerbread 2.3.2. Thx.

At the moment, there's no way to root the Xperia play. However, you will most likely not need root for anything you want to do, as this is Android and not iOS. Root on Android is usually used to install custom roms, themes, to overclock the device or tune CPU settings and the like. Everything else, like emulators, works right out of the door.
Every emulator works differently, some of them require a bios rom. You'll have to look around to find out how to get them.

Every emulator works differently, but all of them require a bios rom. You can get one of those installed easily by downloading the app "Emulator Roms" and pick one of the roms, for example a GBA game. When you choose it, you can either press "download" or "One Click Setting GBA BIOS" - press that button and you're ready to go on GBA. It works the same for SNES and whathave you ^^

That's pretty much it, yep. It's not all that different than an emulator on your PC would work.
The EmulatorROM site that the emulator provided isn't available for download so I found another program but it just downloaded the 7zip files, which are unusable? Should I connect to a PC and unzip in the folder to make it work? :X
