Clockwork recovery touch mod help - Desire HD General

Hey i haven't been able to figure out how to install this .img file can anyone help me

You can find out if you search for 'flashing recovery through fastboot'. In any case, the best recovery for this device is 4ext touch recovery. Download 4ext Recovery Updater from www.4ext.net and use that to flash recovery (you need to be rooted and bootloader unlocked).

You need to flash a custom recovery image. Your looking at the stock recovery with the red triangle. The easiest way to do this would be using rom manager

[QUESTION] ClockworkMod Recovery

How do I flash CM Recovery onto my MyTouch 3G?
All tutorials I have encountered so far seem to confuse me and I tried flashing it using ROM Manager and it just didn't work (even though it said it was successful).
Please help =(

When you try to flash cwm recovery image through Rom manager, it should give you 3 or 2 options, choose ion/mytouch 3g
If you've already done that, reflash and then from Rom manager reboot into recovery to test, if that doesn't work, try amonras recovery image

Clockwork recovery mod not working

After I updated clockwork to 5.0 I can no longer boot in to the recovery backup my system or install roms it only boots to stock recovery with white back ground

have you tried reflashing it through ROM manager?
if that doesn't work, flash it manually using adb.
Turn off fast boot? Reinstall the recovery?

Use the file in this thread to reflash the recovery. Rom manager doesn't truly flash the recovery but this will.

Alternate CWM install?

anyone had success with using KFU to install CWM? Seems like you would just replace the TWRP image with the CWM image...or I could be wrong and brick my fire
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App
you can replace twrp with cwm but not with kfu
you have to install it manually as described in the op of cwm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454241
edit: just realized what you are tying to do ! don't think that this will work cause the install command is different
twrp starts a install routine with the "boot" command - cwm will be directly flashed with the "flash" command
Well I tried it before I read your response and now I'm stuck at fff boot logo...kfu is at "waiting for device"...I'm sure there's a thread for that somewhere

future refference, use this to install cwm directly, no fastboot required.

[POLL] What are you currently using: CWM or TWRP?

ClockworkMOD Recovery
Touch Recovery
Neither, using 4ext as all zips flash through it.CWM/TWRP just runs an aroma installer, and when it comes to the installing part it ends instantly, no errors whatsoever.4ext is very nice, except that it doesn't have a sideload option but i'll live with it.

What you described is most likely Aroma's fault, not CWM/TWRP. That thing is glitchy as hell.

i know aroma is responsible for the touch based setup, but it didn't skip in 4ext and it ended straight away in CWM/TWRP.That's all i'm saying.

I use only CWM and also havnt got any problems its easy and fast + safe
Clockwork for now, tried both but Clockwork i think its really simple and stable

i can't install TWRP any solution?
Using 4EXT myself as CWM or TWRP has issues with backing up /sd-ext and sometime even partitioning for a SD-EXT as well on the later versions of TWRP and CWM.
Recovery
Only 4EXT Touch. Its the best
CWM recovery.:victory:
