[Q] Erasing recovery through fastboot ZTE Skate - Blade General

I bought ZTE Skate with CM10 ColdFusionX2 ROM. With backup I resotored nandroid 2.3.5 backup and everything worked fine. There was some installed recovery. I installed image bin file, original firmware for my country. That way I erased Recovery who was installed with CM10. Throught TPT ifor ZTE phones I installed Clockwork for Orange ZTE. After that I can't access android os, always boota into Recovery. I triedto restore backup from clockworkmode, but reports md5 mismatch, possibly for false recovery.
Is there any way to erase Clockwork recovery through fastboot?
adb devices show P743T_OUK recovery, no phone.
every command in fastboot show waiting for device message in cmd.exe
Please help.

The tpt erased EVERYTHING on your phone and put the recovery on the boot partition. At this point your phone doesn't have any system to boot.
What you should do now is to first flash a recovery into the recovery partition and then install a ROM.
If you manged to remove the recovery your phone wouldn't boot at all. To restore it you'd have to tpt again.

[Q] Updating Clockworkmod recovery....

Hi , is there a way to update clockworkmod recovery to latest version , without loosing the installed rom?
if the kernal will support i believe you can flash the file through the terminal app in android. at least that USED to be the case.
i read here (its a sticky in the dev forum )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987531
you can update recovery from within recovery if the update is in zip format, just flash ans reboot.
Or in bootloader mode use
flashboot flash recovery recovery-raw.img
recovery-raw.img being the name of the new recovery img.
neither method interferes with your rom...
you can do it from the fastboot commands, boot your phone up into the fastboot mode
fastboot flash receovery nameofrecovery.img
you wont lose anything it will just update CWM
Tnx for the replies guys.
I went the noob easy way and did it with HD2 toolkit
Takes a while for the coffee to hit me in the morning!
Now running latest version

Blade won't boot into recovery mode, boots normally

Hi,
I have a Gen1 Blade running custom 2.2 ROM, that I have flashed on it and it also has the latest Clockwork Recovery (via ROM Manager app).
I want to at least do a factory reset, but preferably flash a new, better ROM so that I can give it to another family member.
The problem is that it won't boot into recovery, not by holding the volume bottom down, nor by telling it to reboot to recovery. What it does is just show the green android logo and that's it.
It does boot normally, and everything is working as it should.
When I tell it to do a factory reset and the confirm it, the phone restarts and it is the green logo again. After a while I just have to remove the battery and it just boots up normally without anyting changed.
Is there a way to flash a new ROM without recovery, via PC and adb or something?
Latest gen1 supported CWM is 3.0.1.4 so you'll need to use that or update to gen2 to use the latest CWM

That's all good, but how do I update to Gen2 if it won't boot into recovery?
I think I had an old version of CWM on which didn't work the last time I checked and that's when I upgraded CWM with ROM Manager which I assume flashes a compatible version, doesn't it?
I'll try 3.0.1.4 just to be sure
You don't need recovery for a tpt. Just place the tpt on the root of your sdcard and power on holding volume+

I'll try that thanks
My CWM-6.0.1.1 and 6.0.1.2 (if you're up for testing, i'm pushing it because i need testers) support gen1/2/3 AND Chinese blades.
You can flash it by booting normally, then using adb and fastboot (search and download/install).
After installation it's as simple as typing:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery [name of the recovery]
fastboot reboot
That's it. Everything is intact and you have a working recovery.
If you're running Linux, make sure you're running as root before executing and add "./" at the beginning of each command.

Lost recovery, cant boot, only fastboot

Guys... when i tried to flash oos 3.0 on my op2 through twrp, i first wiped the data to install new rom, then install oos 3.0, it failed. I then flashed the recovery i downloaded from the thread, then restart the recovery
I cant boot into the recovery.
System can't boot
Is it called "brick"?
So i tried to flash stock recovery in pc by command, but it says "remote: device is locked. cannot flash images". any solution to this problem?
I can boot into fastboot mode
You need to run the phone in Qualcomm mode on a PC and run the recovery tool to fix you bootloader.
I did the same and it was a royal ball ache trying to find out how to fix it
Don't do what rosswaa said
Why not?
What you should do is boot your phone into fastboot mode, connect it to your pc. Flash this modified TWRP recovery img to your phone https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995297945. After that you have to flash this modified SuperSU (through the new recovery) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995297946.
The normal recovery doesn't work in OOS 3.0 (just like in HOS) and it's the SuperSU that gives you the soft brick. A dirty flash of the modified SuperSU should fix it.
I also had your problem and I did what rosswaa said which shouldn't be necessary (I lost all my data and backups).
I didn't lose anything, but I tried doing what you said and my bootloader was screwed so wouldn't take a flashed recovery or anything (yes the modified one)
Wish I hadnt been so excited and just flashed but all sorted now
Hmm okay, if it doesn't work with flashing the new recovery img then do what rosswaa said and after that follow this post https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/installation-instructions-faqs-oxygenos-3-0-0.439108/
Obviously try what green says first, if it works then happy days
first i am really glad that someone give some advices on me. But since i am a noob, how can i flash twrp in fastboot mode? using command? "fastboot flash recovery xxx.img"? thx

Flashed TWRP and now won't boot

Hello,
I was attempting to root and install a custom ROM yesterday. I first unlocked my bootloader via ADB. Then flashed TWRP in fastboot mode using ADB. I then booted to TWRP and my internal memory said "0 GB." I wasn't able to do a backup or flash a ROM.
When I went to reboot my system it became stuck in the booting screen with the moving dots. What did I do wrong??! PLEASE HELP!

Did you solve your problem ?
Once you unlock bootloader you loose all your data.
Have a try to "format" your data partition inside TWRP.
Afterwards install the custom ROM ..
Cheers

Stuck in fastboot, did I brick my phone?

Hey there,
sorry, noob here.
Trying to get an old Redmi 7A up and running again:
Unlocked the bootloader
entered fastboot mode
flashed TWRP
booted successfully into TWRP
wiped data
rebooted into twrp
wiped system, data, dalvik and cache
twrp is gone, stock recovery returned
reflashed twrp
fastboot reboot recovery
back in fastboot
power off, power on
automcatically back in fastboot
I cannot access anything but fastboot now.
What am I missing, what did I do wrong?
Thank you very much!
If you're stuck into fastboot try reflashing the stock rom from the official xiaomi site here
Select the fastboot version of your rom, then use MiFlash Tools to revert back your rom using the flash_all_lock.bat file.
To make miflash to work I had to add a log folder and inside an empty [email protected] file before launching it otherwise you'll get errors.
i think your mistake was wiping before installing custom rom. Follow the instruction closely
