[Q] Not suer where to start - Trophy General

I bought this phone three months ago knowing WP8 was coming out soon. :crying:
I see the XevRev for Spark_W stuff, radio collecctions, tons of custom rom stuff, and etc, but I'm at the point where I'm utterly confused at what it what.
I guess I'm asking where I should start?
Here is what I think might be relevant:
OS Ver: 7.10.8773.98
FW Ver: 2305.13.30202.605
HW Rev: 0003
Radio SW Ver: 1.43.00.06.14_23.17w.05.13U
Radio HW Ver: 3.2.3.D4
Bootloader Ver:3.2.230513.2
Changed DUN NAI from dun.vzw3g.com to vzw3g.com
Just got my dev unlock through dreamspark.

Well, dev unlock is really unnecessary if you plan on installing an HSPL and flashing a custom rom. Then again, your OS version of 8773.98 suggest that you are running DFT or ansar's rom, but didn't install HSPL (only RSPL to flash the rom). Even with the official rom, your OS level should be 8779.8 after updating via Zune.
First, if you REALLY want to unlock the power of this phone, install HSPL using my HSPL guide for SparkW. It explains every step in detail so you can be ready to flash a custom rom.
Second, give my SparkW rom XevRev a shot for a great Tango experience. Just flash the rom, then update via Zune after setting up the phone to get the newest radio installed. It has FullUnlock and Root Tools, and is the only rom currently around that allows for the phone to be fully programmed using *228 (older roms have an older Xap Deployer package that didn't allow the programing tools to be installed).
You can ignore the radio thread and the "stock like" threads because the contents of those are now outdated with my rom being out.
Get 10+ post under your belt and you can reply to dev forum topics. I'm working on a 7.8 rom, but I won't be able to test it until my third Spark_W comes tomorrow and I transplant a digitizer into it. Maybe since I'm taking it apart I'll also upgrade the SD Card on that one too? (I don't want to flash my primary phone since it's too much of a pain to get reinstalled when I need it for an alarm clock.
Before you flash another rom though, I want to ask you a few things. Do you have Unlimited data via Verizon, and if not, what plan do you have? Also, is tethering working for you NOW before flashing my rom simply by doing the dun nai change? The dun nai change should only be necessary for Unlimited data users.

I'm using factory updates. All I know is that I have my phone updated as far as I can through Zune.
We just switched from AT&T to Verizon, due to the lack of any signal across the entire house. When we went into the store they had to have their manager bring the phone all the way from Kentucky. Anyways, they had just started to push the share everything plan, but the reps acted like they weren't comfortable with those plans yet. I have a 2gb a month, but I called verizon and they disabled the DUN for my phone (as I didn't want charged one of the wifi access fees) When I enabled the wifi after I called them I got a webpage showing I could re-enable it for the $30.
I tried to do the Interop_Unlock but that seemed to not work. But I might as well wait for your 7.8 then.

Yeah, Interop is a pain to do unless you are running Mango v1. You could factory downgrade to do it.. but its really a big pain.
I'm aiming to have 7.8 and international language roms out by Sunday, work is guna make it difficult. Are you able to use tethering with the dun nai changed though? I'm curious because other users with metered data plans were still having issues.
If you can't use tethering even with the dun nai changed, try deploying JerryJiang's Tethering unlocker for Verizon Trophy. If you still can't tether, I think I know a final adjustment that may need to be made, and you could be a helpful test subject since JerryJiang sent me his apps source code. After I get the details sorted, I can apply the fix directly into my rom without a need for an app (and create a rom package for others to cook into their roms).

Tethering works with the internet sharing in settings. I have no issues what so ever.
I'll beta test if needed. (If it says anything im running win8x86 rtm kinda as my main os)
EDIT
Just saw how big RUU_Spark_W_S_VERIZON_WWE_2.04.605.02_Radio_NV_021 5_NV58008_RELEASE is. I have hughesnet and a 500mb daily cap. I'll have to wait till I'm at my grandparents(I'm 19) where dsl is king tomorrow. lol

That is the rom for flashing back to stock. You'll need the older rom in the HSPL thread to downgrade the bootloader. Get both roms and back them up if bandwidth is a problem.

So, I finally got to download the RUU_Spark_W_VERIZON_WWE_1.03.605.22_RS0512_2K_4K_hybrid_new_partition_RELEASE and I got it to flash the phone, but now when I try to flash using [ROM_SPARKW][TheXev]XevRev_Beta1a_8835 the phone gets stuck at 0%. I can follow the instructions shown on the program, but it seems to get stuck at the same place.
I can just unplug the phone and turn it back on and i can get calls in the meantime, but it seems I can't proceed.
I tried the dft rom aswell, but it shows the following:
Code:
[Error Description]:
Invalid ModelID. This means that your phone not supported.
This installer supports only limited number of the phones.
SPARK, MOZART, MONDRIAN, GOLD, SCHUBERT.
If you have phone from this list, but still have this error, please contact with DFT team.

You need to install HSPL before you can flash a custom rom. After downgrading the bootloader to 1.3, you can then install HSPL. Follow my guide here for complete instructions, step by step.

I finally got it to work! Thanks for the help. I had to find the DFT_XSPL_WP7FG3 that I had downloaded a month ago. The DFT HSPL thread didn't seem to have the file anymore.... When I found that rar, it worked perfectly; I'm now running your 7.8 rom!
I'm still unsure how the WM Device Center actually works, but I'll have to take that up with ultrashot. It seems to work intermittently, I can browse all the files on the phone with the pc that I first set it up with, but all it seems to do on my other pc is just show "error" instead of "not connected."
Its probably because I was trying to do all this on Win8x86.

That did the trick. Been using it for a while now. THe only issues I've had has been with GPSKit Tether. MS Streets and Trips doesn't think that the data is NMEA 2.0 compatable, I can open terminal on the port being used, and it shows data. The only thing I would like to see in your build is the updated start icons. Also I can't seem to get the Nokia Counters installed. I got the files to copy from my ringtones to \Windows, but can't seem to get the provxml file to execute.

AT&T Data Connection does not work

I had an AT&T Tilt with a data plan. It worked well. I Just recieved the HTC Touch T8285 which I purchased. I installed the SIM card and the phone work well. I noticed that the internet does not work. Can someone give me some gudance on what I need to do to get the data connection to work over the AT&T network.
Thank you.
if i remember correctly, it's because the the Telstra ROM locks the data connection to Telstra's service. did you add at&t's connection settings to your device? if so, i take it that didn't work so i'm not sure if there's a workaround when using the stock Telstra ROM. as soon as i got mine, i applied the HardSPL package and then flashed a custom ROM. after doing this, the phone automatically configured at&t's internet settings and i've been good to go ever since.
I am getting a little confused on which 1.56+ base rom to use for the flashing. Can you help. Not an expert in this area, but did alot of reading to educate my self.
Thank you in advance.

search the Available Blackstone Shipped ROMs for a WWWE (WorldWideEnglish) 1.56 ROM and you should be good to go.
I found the ROM I need. I trying to run HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_1560liNex.exe. Tried several times. Getting a "error 262" ? Any suggestions?

not trying to be rude/contrite/an asshole, but if you read the Tutorial (from my signature) there are troubleshooting guides for the error codes and other issues to complete the HardSPL. i know it's a painfu/steep learning curve (that we all have to complete), but once you complete the process, you'll be better equipped for your next flash. my recommendation is to create a checklist of ALL the steps (e.g., using Word, Excel or a piece of paper) required to flash a new ROM and use that as a guide. good luck!
O.K. got through installing the HSPL (HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_1560liNex.exe). The issue was that I when into the boot loader manually rather than allowing the HSPL application to do it. I have a distorted color screen. I did a alot of reading and I believe I did it right. I also installed the 1560liNex twice. It did not help. When the HTC touch HD is booted up in has the disported colors. It appears to go away after the sleep mod. I seen some posting on this, but I do not seem to find a resolution. I verified in boatloader that I am running "SPL-560liNex" The ROM version prior to this was "1.21.841.1" Should I proceed to install "RUU Blackstone HTC WWE 1.56.405.1" hoping that the color issue would go away or continue to try to resolve the distorted color issue? You comments would be appreciated.
Thank you,
the only way to validate you've updated your SPL is to go into bootloader mode and confirm that you see "SPL 1.56 Olinex". once you install SPL 1.56 Olinex, you have to use a 1.56 (or newer ROM).

I think I bricked my Cellular South Vogue :(

Hi I have a htc touch celluer south and i ran the unlock.
it has slp-0.41 coKe then i ran a custom firmware ant it will never start up.
I tryed anything i could whent to htc web got it from there and it wouls freeze up at 11% need help sorry im a new with this stuff.
did a custom firmware for the 5th time now it says no radio and wont start up.
What stock rom where you running before hand? Was the phone already GPS enabled? Can you still reach the tri-color boot screen? If so, try reflashing to stock to at least restore function to the phone.
This thread will prob be moved.
I can get it into the tricolor screen .
windows mobile 6
I tryed stock firmware and would freeze up at 11%
Was the phone already GPS enabled? I don't have a any idea.;( it has data.
Thanks
You unlocker you use depends on weather GPS has been enabled on the phone or not. You used the non-GPS unlocker, but you may have a GPS enabled phone!
What is the full file name of the stock rom you are attempting to use? The full file name should have the rom verison and radio version. I'm not sure how much I can help, but after the admins move this thread to the right forum, you should get some good advice from people with experience.

I´ve had the same issue. Firstable, you need to get a good ROM for the HTC Touch like these ones:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426540
download the one you like in the ".nbh" format. Then you must find and download a program called "MTTY v.1.42".
When you get it, go to Activesync settings in your PC and disable "allow USB connections" box. then go to Task manager and kill the activesync process in Windows.
Now connect the phone to the PC. run MTTY. Select "Port:USB" .
where it says" flow control" change the parameter to: RTS/cts
Press OK and leave it like that. Dont close anything.
Finally go to the ROMupdate utlity and flash the new rom normally. If you have any doubt add me at: [email protected]
Ok Thank you I'll give it a try in the morning.

There is some thing wierd here......
After thinking about things, I see why you can't flash the stock rom: You do not have a Cellular South rom to flash to. US Cellular is not Cellular South from all the research I did.
The problem is I was unable to locate a Cellular South shipping rom. A shipping rom is what you would normally want to use to reflash the phone and "relock" it back to true stock easily.
Now, one option would be to attempt to flash just a non-GPS radio, however that could brick your device. ImCoKeMaN has more information on that in this thread on ppcgeeks.
I would recommend that you start a thread here on ppcgeeks, where you may run into some others with more expertize. I'd also link to this thread just in case they need more information. I would also create a detailed thread name like "I think I bricked my Cellular South Vogue" (I'd recommend changing the name of this thread to reflect that as well).
Now, my idea would be to use MTTY and try and figure out what radio is installed (if you can even do that, I seriously have no clue), contact Cellular South for a true stock rom for your phone, and find out what radio was installed on the phone (1.x or 3.x series radio). Since the .41 unlocker didn't work, that think that means you may have had a 3 series radio.
Without knowing anything about how the roms for Cellular South are, your better off either contacting Cellular South and ask them for their stock software (and if you do get it, share it with the world dude, cause no one has it!), and/or try PPCGeeks for more advanced advice.
ImCoKeMaN hangs out on the IRC chatrooms #ppcgeeks and #ppckitchen on (chat.freenode.net) freenode. If you can catch him, he may be able to offer radio advice on the Vogue. You could also start a thread on PPCG and point it out to the guys in that channel, lots of knowledgeable types that have been doing this stuff for years.
So long as your getting the tri-color screen, I think you can get the phone working, so don't loose hope!
well OK Is ther any one else here smart.I'll talk to south central guys when i can to see if they will say go find the dump or whatever.
it says on box HTC------------------------------------6900 South Central
Oh I used .41 unlocker it worked look at pic it was .36 or somthing.
Thanks any way.
@OP,
Let me try to jump in here before you do anything else. As you can obviously flash roms (you can get to bootloader), basically you used, as stated earlier, the wrong unlocker. Before you can flash anything, you will need to flash back to stock. You mentioned that you have tried doing this and you get an error at 11%.... what kind of error do you get? (error code). The only thing that could have fried your radio would be to have flashed it back from a 3.xx.xxx radio into a 1.xx.xxx, which is what ImCoKeMaN describes over at Howard Forums. The .41 is an unlocker for non-GPS Vogues from what I understand, but this is not protected from overwriting, so flashing a stock should get you back up and running.
After you are done flashing back to stock, take a look at my Vogue flashing guide (link in my signature).

Go here. The rom that you are looking for is the last one on the list. That will flash a 3.xx.xxx radio as well, so it should give you GPS capabilities too.
As far as the error, I am looking for an error code from the PC. (I am guessing it is 228, but I could be wrong)
BTW, I am moving this thread to General as it isn't development.
OK Thanks.

[Q] Help me choose a rom (First time)

Hello, I just decided to finally root my Legend and install a rom.
My phone is currently running 2.1 and i'm on the Virgin Mobile Canada network here in Canada. We don't have an official 2.2 release yet.
I have made a gold card and i'm all ready to root and load a rom. I just don't know what one to do.
I think i'd like to start off fairly basic. just to play with 2.2 then try some of the more advanced custom roms. So, All i really need is help finding the 2.2 stock rom that would be best suited for me?
Sorry if this is sort of a newb thing. but i'm a newb. I tried looking this up, but couldn't get a solid answer via google results. Too many options out there and i didn't know if they applied to my situation.
So, yeah. Just want the basic 2.2 Then maybe i'll try some custom roms later.
Also, if anybody has any advice of what to expect or any other advice, i'd appreciate it. Any features I will loose if i root/rom? I hear FM radio won't work, but i'm not too worried about that. Anything else?
Thank you.
You say "basic ROM", but it's a bit more complicated.
You can simply update your phone to HTC stock ROM 2.2 or the Vodafone ROM 2.2, this would be basic but crappy (slow, branded, buggy roms).
I recommend you to skip these roms and try BlaY0's rom (with sense) or CyanongenMod 6.1 stable. These two are really good work !
So you can play with serious froyo and the time you'll take to root and change the rom would be useful !
Cyanogen will be a bit more "exotic" since HTC sense is not included in the ROM.
For the features, you will not loose any of them, except maybe the FM radio (depends of the rom), but you will get many you have not right now (root of course, overclock,..., plus every changes of 2.2)
Your Legend is about to become a greeaaaaat phone, congratz !
I hope my answer will help you ;-)
PS : Few months and we'll get stable gingerbread roms ! Time to get to Froyo ! ^^
Thanks for the reply. It was very informative and just the type of information i need.
I hate these situations where i know i'm missing a lot of knowlege, but due to not knowing it, i don't know how to aquire it. I hate that.
That's why i'm glad i have this place. Thanks. I think i'll install that CyanongenMod 6.1 stable. I've been using launchers most of the time since i got my phone as i didn't really enjoy sense that much.
Could somebody please link me to the exact file i'd want? I keep finding different versions/builds and they say for different phones, and i just get confused A download link would be great.
Search for rom manager in the market, install and choose Flash Clockwordmod Recovery
After that:
In Paid version just select Download Rom / CyogenMod.
Select Backup current rom & wipe data and cache when installing
In free version 1st d/l CM6.1 from http: // forum.cyanogenmod.com /files/category/29-htc-legend/ and put it on your sdcard, then Select Install Rom from SDcard in Rom manager.
For both also install the google apps (same source locations & method)
gl
So, Upon trying to root my phone i find out i first need to downgrade my phone.
I go through all the steps needed and eventually get to the part where i need to install the new "RUU_Legend_HTC_WWE_1.31.405.5_R_Radio_47.26.35.04_7.05.35.26L_release_126592_signed" file.
I set up my phone. Goldcard, the correct version of HTC sync, USB Debugging, i'm fairly certain i did everything correct. I try to run the RUU and i get errors. Either USB not Connected errors, or and more frequently "Device ID Incorrect" errors.
So, I seem to be unable to downgrade to 1.31. Any advice on how to get by these errors? It's really frustrating.
Thanks.
Try recreating the goldcard and reinstall the latest HTC sync.
I tried re-making the gold card. I have the same problems. Although, I did realize i made a mistake when i made the gold card. But remedying that didn't seem to fix the problem.
When the Serial was reversed it already had the first two digits as zero's so i didn't really have to do that.
As for HTC Sync, I installed the correct version. I could try doing it again.
I'm on Win7 64 bit. I also tried it on a WinXP machine. Same error(s).
I'll try making the gold card again. I'm using a Kingston 2GB microSD card.
I had issues with Win7 x64 too. Your best bet is to find a 32-bit machine for this one-time step, or use VMWare Player to make a temporary virtual machine.
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
I've also tried it on a 32bit winxp machine.
Here is basically how it goes.
Enable Debugging mode.
Hook up via "Charge only"
Run RUU as Administrator
It runs and says "waiting for bootloader" but errors out with the Error 171 USB Connection error.
The phone stays on the black screen that says HTC. Have to take out the battery to reset it.
OR. run the RUU again.
If i do that.
it "clears user data"
then does "sending..."
then "Updating Signature". It gets about 20% done, then errors out.
Error 130 Model ID Error.
Then when i select exit. The phone reboots back to the homescreen.
Which, if i try again, starts the cycle again.
so, it goes. First try, USB error, black htc screen. second try. Model ID error, Re-boot. Repeat.
My sync is the correct version. i've re-installed my HTC drivers. I've tried on a winxp box. and my win7 box. I've re-created my gold card. I even temporarily disabled my firewall and anti-virus in case that was the conflict.
I've done everything. This is really pissing me off at this point.

i had same problem but i solved it by doing this look at my guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954450
report if it works in that thread if it dosnt post back here and well help, (remember some one will read this thread when they are stuck one day)
Thanks. I posted on that guide with an update to my situation. Sort of stuck at the moment as the custom boot loader after step 2 failed to load and aborted the installation. so now i'm sort of screwed until i figure that out.

[Q] Question about rom raido for spark_w (1.3ruu+HSPL+ROM+Raido driver)

(1.3ruu+HSPL+ROM+Raido driver)
OK, long story short, phone not able to recive txt messages, and lots of droped calls on my verizon trophy. I had interop unlock, and chevron. Verizon claimed it a hardware problem and sent me a new phone. In the mean time, I decided to test the roms on the old one. But some how brok something, I want to figure it out befrore I break the new one (already in my possession)
installed a 1.3 RUU rom on my verizon trophy (then activated)
Did HSPL unlock
Installed DFT v1 for spark_W
phone worked, (but txt still did not, HW problem I guess)
installed radio v2 drivers as it seeme to have the original htc driver.
Never got it working again
So, did I do something wrong? For the new phone do I just not use the new radio drivers with the roms?

Good, you can use a 1.3 stock like rom in this thread here too, if you already have HSPL installed instead of flashing the stock RUU (you might not be able to flash anything without Goldcard if you keep installing OSPL).

With either a stock rom, or stock like rom like the ones I posted above, do a factory reset (Settings=>About=>Factory Reset...), THEN do a full *228 option 1 programming. Test phone calls and texting only then. If you aren't doing a factory reset with the stock rom, not all settings will be reset in the Spark_W's programing (which could possible cause a texting issue).
Also, is the phone stuck with a 1X indicator?

All the radios are original radios. The NoDo radio is the one that shipped with the 1.3 RUU. If you are running the 1.3 stock like rom, flash the NoDo radio from my radio thread.
Don't flash any radios for now. Try the factory reset with stock rom (or stock like rom).

New phone may come with a mango 2.x series rom (highly likely it will at least be Mango v1) or newer (maybe 2.4 if its coming from Verizon). You can still downgrade, but downgrade with official 1.3 RUU will also downgrade radio (don't worry about radio off the bat). The key thing is, to test EVERYTHING before doing HSPL on the new phone. Then:
Flash 1.3 official RUU for SPL downgrade.
Install HSPL
Program Phone (it's fine to program the phone even if you install HSPL, so long as you are running a stock or stock like rom! Full unlock is what gives us the pain in the butt time.. I'm still working on isolating that issue!)
Flash custom rom of choice (I'd go with ansar's Tango build for now).
Also, before you send your old phone back, even if the steps I outlined don't work, make sure you flash OSPL via DFT's v3 for First Generation Phones, then flash "RUU_Spark_W_VERIZON_WWE_1.03.605.22_RS0512_2K_4K_h ybrid_new_partition_RELEASE," and run a FULL Zune update to current software! This should fix any bootloader stuff that Verizon and/or HTC might detect.
It could very well be that you do have some bad hardware, but make sure you cover your butt by going back to OSPL and updating via Zune. If you flash a newer stock rom, you might half brick the bootloader and not be able to flash anything (that requires a GoldCard to fix).
Hope the newer phone works better when you do get it, but yeah, you can still try to fix it using the reset setups I outlined above.
Now, if you get an error trying to place a call that says "Sorry, we could not authenticate your phone, please call blah blah blah..." even after flashing stock rom and a factory reset and programing with *228 option 1, log into your My Verizon account, and switch the phone on the plan to another compatible phone, then switch it back to the Spark_W. I somehow think that you aren't having this issue so you can ignore this unless you are getting this error.
Not a problem with custom ROMs
I am not running anything custom on my phone. However I have not been able to send or receive calls or text messages since last Saturday (Jun 30).
This doesn't seem to be isolated either - these two threads are full of people with the same problem!
(see xda.png - I can't post outside links)
My data connection is usually stable, however it alternates between 5 bars and 1 bar.
-sucks-
My data connection always alternates between 1 and 5 bars..regardless of phone.. but not when I am near a tower (only in my fringe range area).
My bill is current, and I have had no issue sending and receiving text.
Anyone in these threads try dialing *228 and using option 1 or 2 to reprogram the phone/update the PRL?
I'll try to read the threads tomorrow when I have more time.
Are these peoples phones fully updated with the newest 2.4 software (Mango 8107)?

I'm running 8107.79, and *228 won't even go through.... Phone gets stuck at "Dialing..."
Only time I've had that issue is when I'm completely out of range.. but the phone may still show 3 bars of reception. Have you tried doing it closer to a Verizon tower?
I'm lucky, when I need to get next to a tower, I just go eat my my local DQ. XD
I'm in Manhattan - pretty much near a tower by default
Okay, I'm out of ideas. Only phone (HTC) that I've had do what you described is my HTC Eris.. and its because I let it bake in a window while plugged into the charger (using it as a WiFi hotspot). It's reception has been crap ever since. :/
Sucess?
Has anybody succeeded in resolving the problem?

dude you rock thanks for all that.
with my new trophy here is what im running:
8773.98 - DFT v5 - with broken Wifi Internet sharing, arg... not that I really need it..
radio is 1.53.00.02.15_23.17w.05.13u
hspl 1.3
Sound optimal? it seems to run pretty good. Battery life seem better than ever, phone seems to lag sometimes, but that might just be tango. Do you think its worth using ansar's Tango rom at this point? I'm going to reset soon to change my Live ID to a @outlook
if so, what would be the process for getting that rom on from here? just flash right?

what does it take to unlock/root/rom my VZW trophy

im on mango with bootloader 3.2.230 im trying to downgrade via RUU but the RUU wont see the device the drivers are installed cause zune sees it without issue my end goal with this is to get it on wp7.8 and unlocked to T-Mobile im a big android modder with an HTC One V so i know howw RUU's work seeing ive used them before its just this one is a little funky
what do i do?

The Zune driver is different from the HTC Diagnostic driver that is required to flash roms. If you read my guide stickied to this sub-forum, "[HOWTO] Use DFT HSPL with Verizon Trophy (SparkW only!)" that will show you EVERY step you need to get HSPL installed onto your phone to flash custom roms. This includes explaining what you need to do to install the diagnostic drivers. After HSPL is installed, you can flash any custom rom you want (for SparkW, do not attempt to flash Spark GSM roms to your phone!).
Fortunately, you indeed can downgrade the bootloader via RUU with SparkW... Spark users are not so lucky (they need GoldCard).
As far as unlocking the phone for T-Mobile, you'll be in for a huge disappointment as some have said that the phone will not post HSPA+ speeds on T-Mobile (as the radio and hardware don't support the bands). You'll need to pay an unlock service to security unlock the sim-card slot, but before starting in on all of this, you may want to ask yourself if its worth the effort for a phone that may get stuck in 2G.
Here is an older thread that I replied too on the issue. Here is another thread on unlocking the Verizon Trophy SIM Card slot.
Here is yet another thread on someone who tired to use the phone on StraightTalk and couldn't get above Edge speeds.
Will the diag drivers from my one v work? (Had attempted a PRL change ended miserablely)

Drivers shouldn't matter. As long as you follow this step to enable Windows to download drivers from Windows Update, you shouldn't need to worry at all as the OS will download them. It's much easier then manually tracking them down, and most Windows 7 installations have the feature disabled by default for some reason. If you do use this method, Windows will ask to install Windows Mobile Device Center.. which is fine since most roms (mine included) have software installed to allow WMDC to be used on WP7.
