Yeah i buckled my phone a few times trying it, only seems to be with JB i think, had to do full wipes afterwards

for me the best one
For me CWM by Madteam, did countless number of flashes, backup, restore etc, never gave any problem. Skin1980 does the same though..

Have you tampered with your stock rom, eg. deleted or changed some of the original apps? Im just guessing there is a reason you got a custom recovery in the first place?

Audio fix..
This is the fix for Audio/Sound on any Jelly Bean ROM on any device.JB needs this file "/system/etc/media_codecs.xml"This file is missing, but simply copying the file there using Root Explorer or any file explorer with root access works. This does not require a permissions change. The file is not there originally so you won't be overwriting anything. I did this fix on my Atrix 4G and it worked perfectly. 1.phone ringtone and some audio problems.
In other ways good rom till now working with cm 10 stable.
How to install:
1.Install recovery from odin
2.boot into recovery by pressing power+volume down+homebuttons
3.choose install from sd card
4.choose the downloaded zip and gapps 5.reboot

I guess you don't read Korean; this ROM has issues with the ringtone not working, along with other audio problems related around headphones.

I've checked and the root is on not off, so what you want to look my screen shot to check it out again ?
Try flashing again.
Beacause I tried it there's no fault of root.
Or try using supersuser and update superuser binary it should work on it.

hey all
before starting off i want to tell you guys that i have searched for related articles before opening a new one. but non of it all relates to my problem
i had 4.3 stock pre rooted from djembey bexause my wifi didnt work. the rom worked perfectly but after a while all of thw sudden my camera stopped working. i cleared the apps cache and forced closed it. it worked. but after rebooting andd trying the front camera it didnt work again.
now i installed 4.3 stock from samfirmware and did a full wipe and all. and the problem is still there...
please help me.

If it doesn't work, then it probably is a hardware problem and you will need to go to a service center in that case.
Flash the package from recovery.
Make a backup first.
Don't hesitate to hit the thanks button.

It is easy to tear down the galaxy s4 camera. So you can try to use a new camera or a camera from others' S4 to test whether the hardware has problem or not.

He is not even rooting his phone and you expect him to tear open up his phone? -_-
Frankly speaking, I will NOT recommended him to do it himself as he has no experience of it and will most definitely destroy his phone in the process.

Yes.He can try to rooting his phone. But it is really not a hard task to open up the S4. I don't think that will destroy the phone.
