[Q] miui jb v 2.9.21 - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hy guys,
Today i've installed miui, the rom works quite fine to me, but one problem exists... there are several laggs when i open a app or go to settings, i got speed bugs, scrolling can be lagging too
before i installed miui, my phone runs with helly bean which was much faster than miui..
is miui not stable or are there other problems? ive installed miui with the installation guide... i like the rom, i had miui since gingerbread miui
should i reinstall miui or reflash samsung rom and start at the beginning?
thx mc

Yesterday i tryed 2 different ports of miui jb v 2.9.21, the US one and one from here, both suffered from lags and its not fast overal compared with [ROM GNEXUS PORT] JRO03L 4.1.1 RC12.1 [official jelly bean stock rom] or even stock CM10, and my battery could be seen draining by the minute...flashing was made from scratch full wipes of everything including system, caches, data etc.
Its a nice rom with loads of features but its impossible to like have it on my I9000 with so many lags.
If you want the fastes most stable problem free rom imo its [ROM GNEXUS PORT] JRO03L 4.1.1 RC12.1 [official jelly bean stock rom], others good also that i know because i used them its CM10, and now trying [AOKP JB] Tsunami X 1.1 - by Team Tsunami - Designed for you [OTA][22 sep 2012], has loads of feature, its stable all works and battery life seems good have to test for longer.
The safest bet including awsome battery life its [ROM GNEXUS PORT] JRO03L 4.1.1 RC12.1 [official jelly bean stock rom], if something minimal is wrong with this Tsunami X 1.1 , ill be back to it.

ok thx dude, i will test tsunami today
hope miui gets stable enough, soon !

[Discussions] Best ROM for G3 - All other "Best Rom" threads will be purged.
Hi all,
This is the discussion thread of our Galaxy 3 ROMs. Including Froyo, Gingerbread & ICS. Ups & Downs in every ROM, Suggestions to the Dev, Problems facing & their solutions etc.
Your opinion counts which will help in evolution of custom ROMs. Of course, It all depends on your personal preferences. But still...
Some ROMs notable alphabetically...
Cynogenmod Port (Marcellusbe)
Dutchmods
ICS for G3
Kyora ROM
Kyrillos ROM
Purumod ROM
Sekhy ROM
Vivek's ROM
A Note: Please do not hurt personally anybody.
Thanks in advance,
Sekhar
MOD Message:
This thread has been created for open discussions about ROMs and their features and to share your opinions only - NOT TO IMPOSE YOUR OPINION. I will keep a strict watch on this one!
Thanks, thread stuck.. maybe an idea to list the roms as well..
I like the ICS UI better than any laucher ones
For GB : CM7 is the best
For Froyo (JPU) : Kyorarom 5.2 with G3Mod 2.3 kernel non-oc (flash manually the kernel) -> very stable, ultra fast, and, for my dad, the most battery efficient Rom (5-6 days per charge and 1 week if you use nothing).
Im a freshman in flashing roms, im doing this for about 2 months now. And i can say that
Cynogenmod Port is the best for our Galaxy 3, of course Kyrillos Rom based on CM7-A7 will stand next to the first one. Although on Cynogenmod Port (Marcellusbe) we dont have full bluetooth function and camera is black/white, but its very stable.
Hmmm..Tough Question!
I have tried Kyorarom and Kyrillos and I find Kyrillos v9.5 better than Kyorarom 0.5.2,both in case of battery backup and performance Kyrillos exceeds Kyorarom.
Kyorarom needs to be refined a little and everything will be fine, coz am having lag problems on it.
Still got to try Sekhy's and DutchMod. I am having download problems as of now so will try both the ROMs and report soon.

Have tried and did not pass Boot Loop in the following ROMs
1. Kyora ROM
2. Kyrillos ROM
Used Vivek's ROM for 2 days and it was fantastic, but the data usage while roaming drained me completely..but one of the best for G3.
Currently use CM but CM needs to be tweaked continuously for better battery and results. The features that CM 7.1 has is great. All working fine
Have tried CM 6.2 too and was happy.
The only ROM to beat CM on features is WIUI, but WIUI does not support G3 currently
Hope this helps!
Well, I have tried plenty of ROMs for G3 (from the latest e.g. Kyorarom v0.5.2, Kyrillos 9.5, CM 6.2...) but all of them beats CM 7.1 modded by Kyrillos - GWK74.
It´s fast as hell, stable, pretty good battery backup (3 days of moderate usage).
The only thing I miss are video codecs for avi format, which were in froyo ROMs.
And another suggestion it would be great if Fugumod Ultra kernel would support Gingerbread ROMs...don´t know if it´s possible, but it´s performance in froyo is epic
Tried many ROMs but i find the Kyrillos version of cm7 the best....
On a serious note, i think the stock JPU ROM is insanely smooth and fast I'm using it right now and app opening times, scrolling etc. are really fast and smooth. Battery backup is also awesome compared to Kyrillos' ROM V 9.5 where the battery lasted 1 day of heavy usage then 1 day of hardly any usage because i was scared to waste the battery half the way through the day in case i got any important phone calls.
In my Opinion the cm7 port is the best not only cause you can change your design via cm7 but also performance and battery is very good here, had kyrollos before but yeah i wanted something new and with cm7 port i have much mor fun with my phone
ICS
As long as you don't need bluetooth and camera badly, i actually think ICS is pretty amazing. It's good enough for daily use now at least, almost at CM7 level.
My opinion =
For daily usage: Stock rom (I recommend XXJPS or DDJP4)
Need for speed? : Kyorarom , Kyrillos' rom
Classic rom : Vivek's rom or Purumod
For showing off: CM7, ICS, AOSP original ginger port by marcel

Hi Sekhar,
Could you add the link to each of these ROM threads - and have a comparison [a fair one] for the benefit of the community?
I've not tried Purumod, Sekhy etc..
And what is the funda is installing a ROM from earlier version?
For Instance, Your ROm suggests that the earlier version be installed first..I'm foxed here

Like Kyrillos' v9.5 most. Of course I didn't like battery life with 'default' g3mod kernels especially when I was using 2g/3g internet connection so I flashed Astrum v 1.0 from moikop and now everything works like a charm ;-)

Same here, hope K 10. will get rid of battery drain prob.
...tried Kyrillos' 10 Beta 1 over the weekend and performance and battery drain is really ok.
of course there are still some probs as the black/white preview when taking pictures with camera and didn't get bluetooth connection to send/receive some files; but as pictures are taken in colour (seen when accessed on sdcard) and files can also send by wireless (f.e. airdroid) or usb connection (cable) i can live with it. also having data2sd with link2sd (s2e didn't work properly for me; corrupted my sdcard)
perhaps i'll flash K 10 beta2 end of next week?!

List of ALL ROMS & KERNELS[JB+ICS+GB].Updated last 24/7/2012

I've made a list of all JB,ICS and GB ROMS & KERNELS for the I9000 out here .
I know you may find a couple of threads like this. But the main difference is this thread contains all the three versions of android.
I will update the thread on a daily basis(almost daily) and i would like to add a few info about every rom .
It will help you to you choose an JB ,ICS or GB Rom or Kernel.
Since there are a lot a roms coming up daily based on CM9/AOKP and other people are just adding applications/MODS and re-ziping the rom which are of no use so i will add only those rom which have significant changes in it.
I will try to add ROMs from other sources also if they are worthy enough.

[Q] [ICS] The Most Clean ROM

which is ROM "most clean, fastest, smoothest,..." on Huawei u8800? I mean ICS ROM... (MIUI, Aurora,...) I think your opinion.

Aurora by far...
Hi, i tested a few Custom Roms for the U 8800. The best ones are Aurora and Elora (stable, long batterie life, lag free)
Aurora is a clean ICS build from sources and includes a very little amount of non-stock tweaks or anything else.
Elora is also a great choice but I hate this TouchWiz-ui.
So you just must to choose between Aurora that must be tweaked on your own and Elora that must also be tweaked or even re-tweaked on your own. Both of them are pretty stable (not the new v.5 Aurora — it's experimental ver.)
Sorry for my bad Eng.
ics i mean
aurora is one of the best rom for x5 so far.
Aurora ICS
I believe Aurora ICS to be the best, even the V5 version is pretty good. I've been testing ever since it was available for download & I have yet to find any real issues with it.
I have also tried Elora, MIUI, & they're also not too bad.
Might I suggest you consider Mokee OS. It's not ICS based from what I can tell but it is an excellent rom packed with features & very quick.
Just a thought.......
Aurora is very fast and smooth and the difference from MIUI is noticable.
But if you get used to MIUI interface you won't ever want another rom
Also, Aurora for those who like to use MMS and don't have data plan is a bad choice as you must have data connectes in order to send/receive MMS. In MIUI you don't.
Aurora photos and video are way worst than MIUI V4.
Overall 2 good rooms and if MIUI V4 was fast and smooth like Aurora would be a perfect rom!

[Q] are wifi problems more related to Cyanogenmod roms

Hello guys, all respect to the great work of the Devs and others. I am testing roms now for a while until i venture to write this down. I've tested the next roms without wifi problems:
1. ROM MccM+DS+V4.0+FroyoStone+Sense FINAL
2. ROM Rafdroid HD SD 4.2
3. ROM MccM HD V6 FINAL
4. MccM Mix Theme MT V7.2
5. ROM MccMBoxmax Transformers SS V7.5
6. ROM MccMBoxmaX GS V12
7. ROM MccMBoxmaX MixTheme RR V11
8. ROM BoxmaX KS V9.0
9. ROM MccM Mixtheme V1.3
wifi problems with the following:
ROM NEXUSHD2 ICS CMG HWA SD V2.7.7
ROM Leo King 2.3.6 ICS 4.0.4 CM9 Rc2 Bulletproof
ROM EvoHd2v10final-fixedx
ROM BlueOrange Mix V1.1
question: are the wifiproblems related to the cyanogenmod roms [sorry if all off the them are not CGM roms. still a noob] at least it looks as if it is not kernelrelated
I think the all the roms with working wifi are gingerbread or lower roms, and all the ROMS with no wifi working are either ICS or jelly bean. That means it's the regional wifi issue. You need to download and install "WiFix" app and ... turn it on, or whatever you're supposed to do with it. And then try wifi again.

Jelly bean Rom suggestions?

Hi This is the first time i'm about to Flash a Rom to my Wildfire A3333
Can you suggest me a Rom based on this criteria s given below.
1) Stability and Most function should work
2) I like the stock Default appearance of android.
3) My main intention is just to upgrade to the latest Rom of Android (Bug free)
4) I prefer Jelly bean. But if there is no stable / Bug free Rom suggest me others but above gingerbread.
5) It should not lower the battery life.
If there is none available as i expected i will go ahead with cyanogenmod 7.2 stable which could upgrade my froyo to gingerbread
What your suggestion on that?
Thanks in advance.
If there

well, Jelly Bean is actually out of the question.. JB roms are not quite usable as daily driver.
That leaves us with ICS or GB.
ICS roms do come with a little bit more battery drain, and arent as fast as GB roms. but they are usable and quite stable. I would recommend AOKP light by Wasimk32 or MiniCM9 by Jordafaz.
now GB ROM are the best option to go for. Cynogen ROMs have a decent battery life, so it haven't been a issue for me, at least.
you could try CM7 from this site.
http://get.cm/?device=buzz
And there are modified versions of CM7, which are found in the Devolopment section.
hope this helps
Cheers...
