Hi everybody! I have some "newbie" questions about CyanogenMod 9...
1. Is it really faster compared to stock ICS? I haven't overclocked the processor and my main problem with ICS, is that the default launcher has a little stuttering some times and it's not absolutely smooth. In CyanogenMod9, the "Trebuchet" launcher is almost at the same level in terms of "movement flow".
I had Nova launcher previously and I'm thinking of installing it again on CyanogenMod 9...will this be a right move?
2. What else is better than the stock ICS there? Ι already use that marvelous power widget inside the notification bar, but, except some similar workflow tweaks, I can't see anything else...any feature list compared to the stock ICS 4.0.4?
3. Why the torch toggle-in-notification is disabled in settings? (the pre-installed torch seem to work perfectly)
4. Screen brightness gets increased when there is a lot of light around, but It doesn't decrease its brightness when I go in a dark room again...Am I doing something wrong? (I haven't touched those sensor filters etc...)
Can you please help me? I'm not a developer and I'm mostly concerned about a smooth and fast experience.
1. Make a nandroid and try it out yourself.
There is no right move. Do whatever it is you want. Your phone won't explode if you install the "wrong" launcher.
2. Take a look at the popular roms in the dev section and repeat #1. Or look at bedalus's benchmarks if you're really that apprehensive.
3. probably hasn't had the bugs worked out.
4. again, maybe a bug. After you flash a couple of roms I'm sure you'll see that you can get #3 and #4 working.
More doing and less thinking. As I said, you have a nandroid to fall back on.

1. If you read carefully my post (sorry for my bad English), you will understand that I already have tried CM9 v6.0 and that was the reason I wanted to know more, because I don't see any performance improvement over stock ICS 4.0.4 on my Nexus S. Am I wrong? There must be some objective reasons except my judgement.
2. I was talking specifically about CM9 features.
3. I figured that with the torch...it's probably not ready yet. I can't find any post about the brightness though (there are so many options there which I don't fully understand and brightness never works as it should).
4. I don't want to flash other roms...I have already flashed Wildestpixel's roms and I didn't see an obvious performance difference too...
For trebuchet if you check (or unchecked I forget) the join with apps setting it makes the launcher just as smooth as gingerbread
Well, I switched from Bugless Beast today to latest CM9 nightly (15.4, not the KalimochoAz version posted on here).
Haven't tried CM9 for a while and it surprised me, speed wise and stuff integrated in it. I'm a fan of stockish ROM's, that's why I used BB since ICS came out. What made me stay is:
- integration of BLN & Voodoo sound, meaning I don't need to run those 2 apps in BG (saves memory ofcourse, I'm a sucker for optimization)
- BigMem is quite noticeable, also RAM free right after clean flash is about 200MB (vs 140MB on AOKP, which is the ****tiest, meaning when I use the apps I have in BG, there was constant launcher restart - low on RAM)
- seems like internal storage speed is faster, I noticed level loading on Where's my water game is perhaps the same as on GB (was waay slower when ICS came out)
- nice UI optional goodies in the ROM but still without AOKP "lets **** everything in" bloat (battery %, power key camera shutter, custom autobrightness levels, T9 dialer). Wanted those on BB, where they were out of question, since BB is more stockish.
- no weird governors, OC or voltages, just ondemand/cfq as on stock, don't use deep idle
So for me, it's a good sweet spot between stock and custom ROM.*
*Disclaimer:
I've used BB for months & AOKP for 2 weeks, both on SimpleKernel, which is basically stock with added BLN&Voodoo. I don't fiddle around with OC/Governors. Those are my observations and I don't intend to debate "why you didn't use "xxkernal v.9302".

Today, I'm trying out the 1200 OC, works completely stable so far, playing with the phone over half an hour now. 1400 rebooted after couple minutes. Try it out !
About brightness decrease, you need to enable it in extra auto-brightness settings at the bottom.

Thanks for the tip! Do you know what actually happens when "system update" detects an update? What is it actually after? An official post 4.0.4 update or a CyanogenMod update? Also, what happens in each situation? Can it be updated OTA?

K, back to stock values, because after some time on 1200 sensors stopped working.
Nope, OTA won't work, the update is for CM I think.

Well I've tried most of the best out there and I think cm9 is far the smoothest rom out there. So stick with it. If you want to enhance ur experience with it then try pics reloaded I just love it.
Now the only thing left is search key mod foe recent apps to be modded with cm9 v6 cuz I tried the latest and it wipes out a lot of my options.

Screw benchmarks, usage experience counts and it's not measurable.
Agreed those who actually perform better in bench mark end up being a nuisances. If u want a daily driver stick with cm9 its glitch free.

I'm using CM9. Last rom I tried was AOKP build 32, but I went back to CM9.
Okay, so I was on official ICS, several actually. I kept hoping one would prove not to have the Super Brick bug. It seems nobody knows, still.
After working myself into a panic worried I would do something normal and suddenly have a brick on my hands, I flashed back to Gingerbread 2.3.6, Europe Open version (XXLA4). I decided to stick with Touchwiz launcher
After messing around with ICS and several different launchers I guess I had forgotten how smooth the stock is.
Apps are now opening and closing fast, the scrolling in the launcher is super smooth and overall, the phone is working very well. It's like a new machine!
It could help that now that I'm on a safe kernel, I've wiped data and basically started new, but I'm very impressed.
I still wish ICS would come out from Samsung with an announced fixed version. I miss the resizing of widgets and the ICS Voice to text engine. It really is much better.
I would rather feel safe in operating the phone, however, and give up those small ICS features I'm missing.
Has anybody else done the same? What do you think?
Just use Franco kernel or Speedmod kernel for your stock ICS rom and you'll have a "safe" kernel.
Or flash CM9 rom.
Since you are on GB, you can flash a CM9 rom and be perfectly fine easily.
I have to agree alittle with you , always when i reflash to a stock rooted gb, i always feel WOW its so smooth, but thats until i start installing all my apps i use.
I must say that batterylife is better for me on ICS, dunno why.
BTW, is there any significant speed difference between stock ICS (LPY for instance) and CM9? I'm on LPY and Franco r5 and even when overclocking to 1.6 GHz I haven't noticed any speed change.

I've not tried CM9.
Currently its in nightlies but even still from past experiences with stock rom vs cm7 etc i got noticable stability and speed increases. different phones and roms though but generally the idea still applies.
Can't understand all the drama about the ICS update. I just installed mine OTA as instructed, installed Apex Launcher and I couldn't be happier. Everything seems a little smoother too.
Stock email widget works a treat (7x7 grid and above) and with the Smooth Calender widget I am in home screen heaven. Leaves TW on both Gingerbread and ICS.
Just gone from a great phone to a fantastic phone for my needs
I on the other hand still stick with GB right know.
I'm planning to flash CM9 this weekend.
Because I'm getting bored with GB, everyone seems already tried ICS.
I was waiting official save kernel from Samsung, but I just cannot wait anymore to try the ICS.
I will try CM9 mod first I guess, although Franco and CF kernel already release their 'safe' kernel but I still a bit worried since we're not yet sure if there's other reason of the hardbrick

I have to agree with this that stock GB is alot more stable than ICS and smoother aswell.
I have tried nearly all the stock ICS releases and all the custom roms based on stock ICS that are in the development forum. Also tried with different kernel combinations and both full wipe / no wipe. Initially most of it seems great then you start using a few apps and it all goes downhill from there.
So GB ftw (well atleast till I get that flashing craving again)

Using stock ICS update, had a bricked device after my inability to read, read, read, read & read more, lucky enough to find a solution (not able to disclose, not a technical solution - retail) I use Apex pro launcher & all runs like a dream.
Run chainfires got brickbug? & not happy x19. Rooting may have to wait, confidence bit dented (rooted & flashed my last HTC units & my SG2)
Will read, read & read for a while longer yet.

I also don't understand the complaints for official ICS, I have updated mine and everything is running smooth...there seems to be a problem for people who did not factory reset before upgrading?
i had a lot of restarts - over and over again
i unplugged my battery and it kept happening
since upgrading to ICS - its quite a lot better but still sometimes i get the restarting issue - battery life on ICS is ok - maybe a bit worse than GB

For the restart thing, there maybe an apk which is incompatible? I had this problem after installing several apks from the market when I was on GB once and did a factory reset to solve it.

I wasn't complaining about ICS. In fact, I really liked it. Especially the additional widgets, and the voice search improvements.
I was just paranoid that something I did in everybody function would cause the super brick bug. While people seem to thinkI they know what triggers it and what doesn't, we just don't know for sure.
So for me, I'm staying on GB until Samsung admits and fixes the emmc bug.
Back to GB for me too.
I agree with the OP, I have gone back to GB.
For me the advantages of ICS do not outweigh the stabilty of GB.
ICS:
I lost 40-50% battery life but I gained Chrome ( a little bit buggy but good nonetheless). I also ran the risk with the EMMC bug.
GB : I get my battery life back again, have to use the standard browser but at least I can't brick my phone.
I use the note quite heavily for the web, notes, email and following tweets. It has become an excellent companion and I really don't want to lose it just for the sake of running the latest OS.
I have enough patience to wait until an "official" patch comes out that can repair the bug. After such times I will go back to trying the various ROMs on the site.
Me too recently on ICS Dxlp9 now back to more safer ROM stock GB 2.3.6 unrooted! loving it! gonna miss the resizble widgets and those new features but its worth to wait LOVE MY NOTE

I'm back to stock UK XEU LA4 rom and all the better for it. The stability of GB definately outweighs the few advantages (that I've experienced anyway) with ICS.
My main issues with stock UK XEU ICS where
1/ Bluetooth connectivity problems with my car Nissan Connect system
2/ Adobe Flash player was unstable & some websites I frequent didn't work properly at all
3/ Screen responsiveness reduced
4/ Battery life was worse
heading back to gb too. Cant find any reason for using ics. and tw is so ugly. Waiting for the official Miui
I tried LPY and didnt like it - battery life awful and unpredictable then reverted back to GB - I think I will keep it this way until a much better ICS is available maybe CM9?
Likewise I've gone back from XXLQ2 to XXLA6. There wasn't enough good new stuff in the Touchwiz version of ICS to outweigh the battery drain and keyboard problems. And I did do a full wipe before flashing.

Main issues people have are:
1) TWizzed ICS is a horrible disappointment compared to an actual ICS experience. Samsung basically reverted half of ICS to a legacy Gingerbread UI.
2) Samsung did a ****-poor job of software quality control with their ICS releases. It's utterly stupid that the launcher force closes if you debloat unrelated apps - but that has been the case since the first I9100 ICS release. (There's a reason most custom firmwares use Apex instead of TWLauncher.)
3) Last but not least - Samsung has had a latent defect in the eMMC chips shipped in nearly all of their Exynos-based handsets up till now, and the kernel developers for the SPH-D710, SGH-I777, SHW-M250S/K/L, and GT-N7000 were stupid enough to enable the trigger condition for a known and documented MMC chip bug. The I9100 kernel development team was smart enough to remove MMC_CAP_ERASE from the MSHCI driver or not enable it in the first place.

In general - if you perform a wipe data/factory reset on any stock ICS kernel, you run a significant chance of permanently trashing your phone's internal storage.
It's a MAJOR bug that Samsung should NEVER have allowed to go out the door.

All this bootloader stuff is confusing me coming from an S2..
So far i have,
1. Installed custom bootloader and rooted using After OTA
2. Dont remember how, but installed Twrp 2.2
3. Installed GodMachine 81kernal using the goo manager app.
I have not used the tablet much, but have bought it recently. It came with HC and got updated to 4.0.3 as soon as I checked for an update.
The tablet was fine, had no issues and was running smoothly. Maybe it was the Amoled effect or a higher ppi in the phone, i felt the animations were a tiny bit juddery while entering the menu for the first time.
Thought it was maybe due to lack speed, hence did all of the above.. oc.ed to 1.5 ghz
Even after the OC, the UI felt the same, used antutu as a benchmark. As soon as i installd the mods, tablet became very laggy and choppy, hence deleted the Z-ram file.
On stock ~ 5000 and above.
After mods - no oc - 4800~4900. Sometimes the scores go as low as 1200.
Oc - 6800~7000, as earler scores some times go as low as 1100-1300.
Also.some times the tablet becomes laggy soon after starting and i have newly noticed that everything on the Sd card is getting duplicated, i.e another copy is being created with the same file names and same size files, but diff icons.
Since the all the above did not yeild any usable results for me - I think the tablet and the stock ICS are fine, the UI thing is an android trait (project butter in Jelly bean eliminates the UI thing i am talkibg abt)
Tested an s3 on Ics, same UI thing that i felt, but not that noticable due to screen type and size
Hence, i feel reveting everything back to stock would be a gud idea for me as i just play nomal games and watch movies, even though i like the idea of 1.5 ghz X 2 when wanted for benchies.
So ti get back to the stock 4.0.3, which file should i use? there are soo many of them.
1. Which one.s the latest one? Pre rooted, deodexed and zip alligned also would be helpful.
2.How do i install CWM? Cause when on stock, i tried getting into the recovery, an android image showed up nothing happened. I prefer to have CWM over others cause it is familiar.
3. What advanteges will an unlocked bootloader give over a locked one for skme one who prefers a stock rom? Is it manditory for rooting?
4. Any clues about the Sd card issue? also the galary is gettin my google images up, the sync is off, but j cannot turn iff the jndividual syncs.
5. What package do u suggest for some one like me - i do not want the tablet to freeze and just want a smooth Stock like experience along with any benifits if any (but not at the expense of the battery)

Disabled Acer Meida, 3D photo viewer and disbled the photo syncing. Tablet is gud and fluidic now.
But while watching youtube @ 720p using Dolphin browser, the video sometime freezes and comes back again. Audio is fine. any ideas why this might be happening ?

Thats also whats happenning to me I own an s2 and this bootloader is killing me but not only that, the support here on this section is pretty low, Im seeing a lot of ppl with unanswered questions unlike my beloved s2 section here on xda, so I might not root my tab after all due to the slow and maybe none supported helpers here to help you.

flashing the unpatched bootloader will also flash cwm as well.
benefits include being able to flash cwm!!

Yes you can go about it this way if u like...good way to check your cpuid while back on HC...Do the wipes as suggested!!!

And this attitude is the reason why some people don't wish to help. You have to understand;
1. Everything here is free, and nobody places any pressure to use it.
2. Most issues that users have, concerning bootloaders and CWM, have already been answered multiple times. (search button)
3. People have School, job and family, and devote what little free time to help the others. If a person doesn't respond to a question, it's usually because;
a. They don't know the answer.
b. The problem is a repetitive one already answered (search button)
c. They just don't have the time.
To compare the 500 forum to the S2, is comparing apples to oranges. GS2 users outnumber 500 users by probably >100-1, so it makes sense there are more users in that forum.
A lot of people put a lot of behind the scenes work getting mods, kernels, bootloaders, apps, etc working for the 500/501. Not to mention they do a lot of PM support that you just don't see.
So give some folks a break. Most questions here get answered.

Even after the OC, the UI felt the same, used antutu as a benchmark. As soon as i installd the mods, tablet became very laggy and choppy, hence deleted the Z-ram file.
On stock ~ 5000 and above.
After mods - no oc - 4800~4900. Sometimes the scores go as low as 1200.
Oc - 6800~7000, as earler scores some times go as low as 1100-1300.

You can OC to 3ghz and the UI will always feel the same. OC has no effect on the UI, but only on games and some graphic intensive apps. You seem to misunderstand what OC does. The large benefit, is UV and some of the newer governors like lultzactive and savagedzen. These are designed to save battery without a performance loss. Also, depending on governor, benchmarks can actually decrease the more you run them. And benchmarks, are never to be trusted.

This is normal as the android system is obviously doing something it couldn't do when it was sleeping or turned off. The ghost icons are pretty normal, as I have them also. You can see which ones are the real files. No explanation for it, but I'm used to it. This is just how "windows" sees things. I would guess it's kernel/bootloader related, but if tht's the worse that happens, I can live with it.

If you only want benchmarks, and aren't interested in gaming or battery life, why bother OC? The primary reason to OC/UV is to save battery and have better GPU performance.

Disabling those, and others, is always a good start. Probably explains a lot of your problems. As with Dolphin and Youtube, good luck. Not much better browser, although Dolphin has a habit of just closing out.

Got a chance to test two Asus Terga 3 Tablets, both factory reset, one updated to JB & one on ICS.
Did the UI thing side to side and - woila !!! Project butter Shines )
I will post my developments in this thread, cause in a few days i will finish my engagements and will become free.

Naw, it's ok Mate.
Everybody thinks that OC is the way to go. But really, it only benefits games, some films, and battery (UV). The 50x series is pretty good about battery once you learn battery management with the help of a good UV kernel. (but hey, I like benchmarks also )
As with the momentary "stutter" when first going into the apps drawer, I can say this, get a third party launcher. Or, do some V6 Supercharge.
Also, as with my 701, under ICS 4.0.4 I had the same stutter. The JB update fixed it.

On other topic I finally flash my tab, and it was way easier than my s2 when i did it, everything was 1 click installation and Afterota helped a lot, thank you, ill be around.

Most of my UI thingies solved !!!!
Just installed the Nova launcher, meddled with the settings and UI is now as smooth as silk..
I noticed that every time i start up the tablet, every thing is laggy- even the audio.pop's
I found the reason for this- the governer, as soon as i change it to anything else, every thing becomes smooth...
If the interactive governer is set after changing it initially, it still remains smooth... one can just select anyother governer (lulzactive) and use set on boot option in cpu master it anyone else has the same problem..
I went for a clean up and messed it a bit
First installed a stock 3.1 from the thread mentioned in the earlier post... but turns out a non WW package does not update OTA if outside the Us (Australia), by this time messes the recovery, hence ended up installing cwm all over again ( thanks to Moscow Desires thread+latest frimware file ) and installed the latest stock 4.0.3 + apex launcher..
So i just bought a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with ICS 4.0.3. After a few days i have to say that the experience is terrifying and using the tab now feels like torture. The UI is so massively stuttering and laggy that my eyes are hurting after 10 minutes. Be it web-browsing with all kind of browsers or using facebook or just searching through the menus,... and the worst stutter is in Play Store.
I know that JB is supposed bring the smoothness to a near iDevices-level. I used a JB Transformer Prime before. It is super smooth and is worlds apart from an ICS Transformer Prime. But the Prime has Tegra 3 while the Galaxy Tab 2 has only Tegra 2. The experience with the tab 2 was so horrible that I'm afraid that even JB won't be able to save it.
I was about to return the tab so i don't really want to install an (incomplete) custom JB on it and then have to restore it to stock state. Because as i said, i fear JB is not enough. So anyone who has installed JB on the tab 2 please share your experience with me? If JB is really that great i may give it a try anyway.

Even the update from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 was a big improvement IMO for the stock software. I haven't tested out the JB OTA leak, but I do know that AOSP/CM10 Jelly Bean works really well on my 7" tablet.

I just upgraded to 4.0.4. It is indeed a minor improvement over 4.0.3 although not as much as I hoped. The UI is still very stuttering and spiky. Sometimes even unresponsive. I guess I will just have to return it. Sadly I like most of Samsung product. But I will have to go for a transformer prime or infinity.
Did you turn off power saving?

Running cm or aokp makes a huge difference. Its the fastest it will ever be with it. With stock its clearly the slowest it will ever be. Some roms that are based on stock but trimmed down are fast. Check around and do some research.
Remember, you can always go back if you don't like it.

I had 4.0.3 too on my tab2, and what you said it all did got them but after i installed jb it went realy fast !
Try aokp build 4 or cm10 from www.teamhacksung.org
No stutter at all, i use it now
But make a nandroid backup first

The galaxy tab 2 is not a tegra device. It uses a TI OMAP processor which is completely open rather than a closed and proprietary nvidia tegra. That's where there are already jellybean roms out for it if you want to flash them.

I have the 7" tab and with 4.0.3 I had the same experience as OP, but JB leak cured that.
I tried CM10 first, very smooth, but the lack of WiFi direct, Polaris office and video codecs were a deal breaker for me.
I suggest trying a JB rom before returning the tab.

iv found the JB leak to not be that smooth on my tab 2 The app store scrolling is slow and so is going from home page to home page...is something wrong? Iv got the Tab 2 3g 10.1??
Experience is nothing like the Note 2 which is amazing! (so good iv not even gone for a custom rom) I know that has the quad core but surely shouldnt be this bad...

If you really have the situation you described, and you have turned off the power saving mode, then the difference between stock and JB variants won't be noticeable because you have some other issues that are degrading the normal performance.
This tablet performs quite well under normal circumstances with the stock ICS. It has plenty of memory and an adequate processor. SO there are a few possible answer for your problem.
1. You might have failed hardware.
2. You might be loading the device with so many active widgets and background programs that you are eating all the RAM up. That's hard to do, but possible especially if you have some poorly written , misbehaving apps..
3. You have some badly behaving apps that are eating memory and cpu.
4. Do not use auto task killers with ICS, these will fight Android's built-in system optimization and slow your apps down. You can use the manual task manager to kill a misbehaving app if needed.
First open the task manager and see what you have.
When I open it, normally I have about 450Mb used out of 830Mb it displays 450 / 830 and you will see a few active apps. CPU numbers for the active apps should be very low. Mine usually shows 0.0 or 0.X so very low. If you have a app with a high CPU number, that could be your problem.
As you open more app, more memory is used., but that's ok, Android does not remove apps from memory until it needs to.
If you have more than 80% of memory used, things can begin to slow down. That should not happen unless you are running several poorly written apps that are going rouge and eating memory. What does your task manager show?
So-called debloating, removing some unused apps from the ROM is a placebo. If you don't run them, they are sitting in SSD storage doing nothing and have no effect on speed or RAM.
Samsungs Touchwiz additions to the UI have a pretty small footprint and don't impact responsiveness as far as I can measure.
Once we get a fully working kernel, there are some inherent UI speed ups in JB, and those will come in the stock ROMs as well, but that won't fix the situation you have which is an anomaly.
You can monitor applications , memory and CPU usage with a app such as System Tuner

For me, the stock 4.0.3 was terrible! Even considered returning the tablet due to lag. But flashed AOKP 4.1.1 and feels like a brand new machine. Very smooth and no lags whatsoever!

Ok yo begin with I bought a tab2 10.1 GTP5113 ver. With ICS 4.0.3 ..!
I haven't unlocked or rooted ..! It was smooth everything was nice except if I had many apps opened then it was laggy
I was able to add the incremental update named UEBLH firmware..!!
Then I installed the leaked jellybean firmware on it..! Still everything working fine..!
Its much more smoother and sexier in handling... The UI is beautiful and operation is verryyy smooth ..!
But to my surprise the IR blaster (smart remote control) isn't working anymore and the camera is crappy..! It's garbage..!! It doesn't autofocus anymore..!
I wanted to ask someone has same issues..? And was the camera crappy in previous versions as well. ?

For me its a big difference going from 4.04 to newest kang jb.
Overclocked to 1.4 and still battery seems to last alot longer and i just find it strange.
Surfing web is insane fast.

I don't think the cameras ever auto-focused on the Tab 2's. I know the rear camera on my p3113 doesn't and Face Unlock stopped working for me which was ok because I had to hold my face in a certain spot for it to work anyway since the front camera couldn't change focus.
Back on topic though, I'm running my build of Paranoid Android and it's slicker than a greased pig. It is 4.1.2, but it is way snappier than CM9 was on the p3113.
Bought the tf300 for my sister and made dam sure it was ICS, so i can run some test and compare to my JB tablet. Now i debating if i should upgrade her to Stock JB or unlock the bootloader and try out CM9/10f.
For her i would rather leave the bootloader locked for warranty purposes but the geek in me tells me to unlock and try CM9/10. She is using CM9 on her i9000 and has no issues with it so it won't be an issue and now since CM Team have OTA updates it will make things very easy when updates arrive.
But for her i don't see the benefits installing CM, the main reason I wanted to go to CM was because of I/O issue (laggy system is bad for all), running CleanRom on my tablet and have no issues and it very snappy unless i start running a torrent using utorrent or start installing map apps at the same time.
So people that have CM on there TF300 do you guys have any noticeable lag with CM and when torrenting or installing lots of apps?
If you can please post androbench/antutu scores all on performance that would be great-full.
I'd say update to stock, then try the a ROM like hydro or cleanrom. These keep the Asus functionality while providing an insane performance increase.

Well my TF300 already has CleanROM installed and it has major speed boost I still find it slow and laggy compared to my S3. When transferring a file from the network or downloading, everything starts to slow down or has a bit of delay which is why i created this thread. CleanROM is far better then stock (but not that much since its based on stock) but just not what i expect for $500 tablet.
I would have just tested on my tab but since mine came with JB i'm SOL, just don't want to void her warranty if CM does not have any benefits.
I tested all ICS Bootloader Roms before updating to JB.
For me now the perfect combination is The JB OC edition Rom from surdu with the newest Kernel from Untermensch. Running on 1600MHz with ondemand governor and sio.
You didn't test the CM10 Builds?
I put CM10 on mine, and even though some of the Asus controls are missing the physical keyboard still works almost perfectly (lock key doesn't turn on screen). Experiencing significantly less lag than on stock Asus.
I think so. Happy with CM10 and the untermensch kernel clocked at 1700. Using the pegasusq governor, as that gave the smoothest experience. Huge improvement over stock. The only feature I miss is the onscreen notification when pressing the keyboard dock key to turn off the touchpad, the key still works though.
