Hi there.
I had Focus 1.3 with official at&t windows phone 7

Can I do something with my phone without jtag?

Even I had my FOCUS bricked yesterday but brought it back to life using WP7 Downloader.
When I had plugged it into PC, I checked device manager and luckily it showed up there So i followed this Youtube video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJVo68x5DDQ) and flashed an ATT Rom and it started working :good:

I am not so lucky((

Try it in different USB ports. I'm sure that it will show up in the device manager. While using WIN7, when an external device is detected it makes a small sound that is your hint that it has been detected actually this sound from windows was the very thing that prompted me to check Device manager

Unable to see phone when in download mode

I'm trying to revert back to stock on my Epic. I previously flashed using Clockwork and wanted to try Odin this time around but when I put the phone into Download mode my computer doesn't recognize the device. I've tried multiple cables and USB ports including one on the board itself. I am using Windows 7x64 and have the 64 bit samsung drivers installed properly. If I do a battery pull and boot the phone normally the computer recognizes the phone no problem.
Any ideas?

I was having a similar issue with my MBpro, nothing would recognize my phone. Tried it on another comp and bingo. I think stuff is just finicky with USB ports. Lame-o.

Yea...this post made my brain hurt...and of course didn't change anything...but..thanks?
Here's another piece of info that may help nail down the problem...
Odin is able to see the phone if I boot into Clockwork recovery mode but because clockwork is up the phone can't receive a flash but Odin does see the phone with no problem. It just still won't see the phone when booted into download mode.

I use windows7 64 too. I encountered tons of problems when trying to flash my epic. first my computer doesn't recognize my phone in download mode. after i wipe out all the drivers and reinstall them. finally i get my computer recognize it under download mode, but Odin froze every time during the flash.
Finally, i tried on another desktop computer with windows XP. Everything went perfectly. So maybe you should try that too.
I cannot connect to my Epic in download mode on mac os x either.
I was trying to install a lag fix, and now all my phone will do when powering on is show switch between the normal Samsung screen, and another reading "Samgung GT I9000".
I can still boot into Clockwork Recovery. But OS X will not recognize my phone.
Either that, or Heimdall isn't recognizing it and won't let me flash.
Help! Any ideas?

If OS X isn't recognising your phone it's likely your phone has the buggy secondary bootloader. Samsung corrected the bootloader for at least the GT-I9000 JPA firmware but I'm unsure if they have done so for other devices or firmware releases.
Unfortunately the only solution then is to use Windows or Linux. If you don't have access to a system running either of these OS then I recommend downloading a 64-bit release (assuming your PC has a 64-bit CPU) of Ubuntu, then you can download the Heimdall binaries from my website and use it to recover your phone.
i had an extremely similar issue as to what you are having. I have 3 win 7 machines and 1 xp, none worked. I went to a friends house he has 2 win 7s and an xp also didnt work. I did a general search and found all kinds of crap. One dude something about using his chicks blackberry usb cord and suddenly it worked on any and all of the machines it had previously not worked. so at the time im reading this on my chicks laptop which has a damn blackberry cord attached to it chargin her evo(go figure) ... anyway u didnt need the whole story but i have nothing to do right now.
Point is everyone says try different cords, i say try the damn blackberry cord if you happen to have one or a friend that has one.

Is it the hardware on the Macbook pro itself? or just the OS? in other words, If I were to partition my macbook with ubuntu would that work with heimdall? would it be able to recognize my phone while it's in download mode as opposed to OSX, which couldn't...?

In this particular instance Apple haven't done anything wrong at all, both their hardware and software is fine. The issue is that Samsung are distributing secondary bootloaders that aren't complaint with the USB specifications.
Whilst that is annoying, the good news for you is that you can simply install Linux (Ubuntu etc.) or Windows on your Macbook and you'll be able to flash just fine.

PC/Zune will not recognise HD2 after WinMo 7 flash

Hi guys,
Not really a noob as I have been flashing my friend and mine's HD2 for quite a while.
I've flashed Win 7 onto mine and everything is working perfectly except the pc and Zune will not recognise it. Also says device driver install failed. I had a quick search but I'm either blind and can't see it or it's not up.
Anyone able to help?
I've installed the Chevron cert but cannot get any further because of this.
I was fighting with that exact problem yesterday, took me forever to realize my sync problem was a driver install error. In Windows, go to the device manager while your phone is plugged in. It should have you phone listed with a yellow triangle on the icon due to the error. Right click that icon and you can tell it to resolve the error, or you can go into the properties and force it to install the driver again. Give it a min to get the driver installed and tested, then you should be in business!
me as well bro...
can someone pls upload the zune software here i can't download it from the site they say no available for your country , thanks

Ah man you are a hero. I had to go one step further though. I ended up having to update the intel AMT driver on my pc as it wasn't compatible with windows 7. All seems gravy now though. Thanks for the help
Ah spoke too soon, the pc now recognises it but Zune and Chevron still won't pick it up. So close..

Did you change the registry key?
I'm having the same problem, but my computer wont recognize the phone at all. The very first time I plugged it in, it did. But now with it plugged in nothing changes in device manager. The computer doesnt even make a sound when it is plugged in and unplugged. I have installed the wp7 tools and everything. It refuses to connect. Can someone help me please?
This is really annoying now. Brought it home and the laptop picked it up fine but I don't have enough space to install the developer tools.
Have the Intel AMT driver updated here and it still fails to install the driver properly. Wrecking my head now I can't put anything on it until I get this fixed.
FINALLY got it fixed. Was all set to give up and uninstall developer tools when I spotted a program called libusb32 installed. I then twigged an error in the driver details about an unsigned usb cert. Said I'd uninstall it just to see and voila. Phone was picked up straight away.
Bit more messing about trying to get it unlocked so I could change the device name but all is working now so I can finally start loading apps.
I know it's probably only me that had that little program but worth mentioning just in case someone else has a similar issue.

At last a solution that really works, thank you. I have been stuck for 48 hours trying to get the phone synced with Zune but it wasnt happening. For all of those that are stuck this is the solution. The Device Driver is the key.
Make sure you re-set the phone and re-start it and remember to re-install the certificate before attempting to update the drivers. Use the Device manager and the update button and all should be fine.
Zune will fire up automatically onec it has updated correctly and you can finish the process............mine went smoothly after overcoming this step.
Thanks again
my solution
A simple reinstall of the phone driver and the zune sw did it for me, in that order.
HD2 Leo not working on Zune
At last as stated, uninstalling LIBUSB.sys made my HD2 windows mobile 7 work with Zune. I am using windows 7 and all is syncing with HD2 and Leo. So if you people are having problems sync with Zune un-install LIBUSB.sys from your system.

[Q] No USB connection between my HD2 & my computer

I have HTC HD2,I was trying to upgrade to Android, I think I made a mistake I installed “MAGLDR113” before upgrading my Radio to version 2.15.50.14. After I installed MAGLDR113 I connected my phone to my computer and the telephone was stuck in boot mode and was never able to see USB connection. Now my computer does not recognize my phone anymore and I can’t flash a new Radio version since I have no connectivity to my computer. I tried several things but all was useless. Can anyone help me telling me how I can have a USB connection to my computer??
Thank you.
do you have tried to start and hold volume button... than connect to usb and simply install a stock rom (for example from your provider) - this must work... if not - you have bigger problem.

Answered so many times. turn your phone off then turn it on "while holding volume down.It will then take to bootloader(rainbow screen). It suppose to have a cotulla written above the rainbow screen. Now flash it with a stock rom came from HTC site..No need to sync your phone to your PC..Just flash it..Start all over again..Now you can search before doing somehing with your phone. If that didn't help you. You have a bigger problem..
Yes I tried this also but it doesn't work.
What didn't work? Can you boot into bootloader - ie switch off, press and hold vol down button and switch phone on.
You should then boot into a multi-coloured screen and should see "serial" at the bottom of the screen. Then connect device to usb port (preferably one at back of your pc and a different one that you haven't used before if possible) - let the drivers install if applicable - does "serial" change to "usb"?
Do wat d above posters have suggested then try different usb ports or even a different windows pc...For all we know, your usb cable might be faulty....Also did u perform HARDSPL before anything else?
I've started experiencing this very same thing. HD2 wont regognize usb connection while in bootloader screen. I get the usb connection sound but never says usb at bottom of screen like it used to. I've been trying android builds via sd but wanted to try my first flash but cant even instal MAGLDR cos it just fails at bootloader cos of no connection. Has been driving me wild for 3 days now.
try plugging the phone into a different USB port it should work then...
Tried that all day and it said couldn't install drivers, then just tried the same ports now and its worked. I think it was mobile device center had 2 set-ups for my phone, i deleted the older one and all seems fine now.
This is crazy, now i'm stuck on magldr and won't find usb.
I'm leaving nand now cos i'm close to smashing my phone to pieces, magldr usb flasher will not find the connection no matter what i try, so i'm staying with ****ty windows mobile. Not happy but i've been trying for days now.

I am experiencing this exact same problem. Bootloader wont recognize the USB stays in SERIAL. Tried different ports, cord is fine. What is the problem.
Before this, my HTC HD2 would just hard reset on its own ONCE A DAY! Why was it doing this?
Now it gets stuck on the white HTC loading screen. Wont get passed it. I used to be able to hard reset by doing the volume keys down and reset but NOPE... still wont load past that white screen.

Of course it won't work without drivers. The computer needs drivers to communicate with the phone. In normal mode, unplug the phone, Google the application, download it, open it, click everything that has HTC or HD2 in it and click uninstall. Plug the phone in, let the drivers install themselves again. Try again.

Ok... i rebooted into Normal mode, downloaded the utility, did a search for "HTC" found nothing, did a search for "HD" found nothing. So i am now installing windows mobile center for windows 7 which should have the appropriate drivers.

I'm able to view through USBDeview that my HD2 is connected, however I'm unable to view/open it.. I screwed up by naming the 'temp' folder to 'copy_to_sd_root'..
The instructions confused me. I figured this was the folder that needed to be copied to the sd root... however when i rebooted the phone, I was unable to access it. Any recommendations?
SOLVED
I was overlooking the USB Flash option.
If you are still having problems, let your phone turn on(no multi-color screen), select: USB Flash, click the DAF.exe installation file, follow the prompts.
You're done.
I had this problem and I solved it disabling an option in activesync. I can't remember what was exactly the checkbox, but was in "options" and it said something like "allow usb connections" or something like this.
I just disabled it and rebooted the device holding volume down.
Good luck!
Make Sure Phone is not connected to PC
Goto cotrol panel in windows
Uninstall HTC BMP USB Driver
Uninstall HTC Driver Installer
Uninstall HTC Sync
Unisntall Windows Mobile Device Center
Restart the PC
start the phone holding power and vol dn and now connect the phone to PC. should detect and install the drivers and you should be able to see USB on phone screen.
if this does not work
Delete all the USB root HUB but keep as last option in device manager.
PS: This will cause ALL the USB devices to redetect.
Let me know if this works

THANK YOU!!! I've been waiting for someone else to have the same problem!!! I'm relieved it's not just mine. I'm assuming you did a manual install also? Is yours rooted? One person suggested ClockworkMod but I'm a little nervous about rooting. I've been doing the manual installs but that's as for as I wanna go. I can't stand the idea of bricking my phone.
My phone is new out of the box!
I found that on two Windows XP machines USB storage doesn't work. I then plugged it into a Win7 box and it worked perfectly. I also used a different cable with the Win7. Try a different cable and try Win7.

I have Windows XP on my work PC and Windows 7 Premium 64 on my home notebook and the USB worked fine on 2.3.3. Every since I did the manual install of 2.3.4 the USB functionality is gone. I'm thinking maybe the ROM is used wasn't incomplete. It's beginning to look like the only way to fix this is to root my phone
FWIW I did the manual update (full rom) and USB storage works fine on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 box.

Yeah, I'm thinking maybe the one I installed wasn't the full ROM. As soon as I see people saying it works great I go ahead and use it. Do you know of any possible fixes without rooting?

Trying to figure that out. I've been told try ClockworkMod and go back to 2.3 but I'm trying to do it without rooting.
Try a different USB port
If the update was incomplete, the update would have failed the signature check. The first time I connected my Nexus S after manually patching to 2.3.4, Windows 7 Professional X64 did not detect it when connected. I unplugged it and used a different USB port and it worked. I then tried the original port and it also worked. I would try a different USB port and a scan in Device Manager before changing the ROM.

I also have Windows 7 Prof. 64 bit, but switching to different ports didn't work. It won't install the drivers. What else could that mean if it isn't the ROM?
I had this problem immediately after flashing CWM.
I booted into the ROM, then, while the USB was plugged in, powered off the device, and turned it back on. It then seems to work everytime I turn on the device, as long as I don't boot into recovery.
Me too
.
I had a the same problem with my SGS.
The trick for me did: disable usb-legacy-support in your motherboard-bios.
Have you tried re-installing USB driver from the latest android SDK?
Kind of strange, it was working great yesterday and today couldn't connect. Right clicked on android_winusb.inf and selected install and it started working again. Not sure what could have changed from one day to the next. But at least I know what to do when it happens again.

Never tried that. Doesn't that involve rooting or unlocking the bootloader? Both of those wipe the USB storage.

Don't have a custom ROM. All I did was manual bootload 2.3.4 on stock Android. The weird thing is when it's plugged in(charging only) and I turn it off, it starts to power down and then freeze. The screen doesn't go black until I pull it out. Then when I plug it back in it automatically powers back on. Basically, I can't seem to plug it in while it's powered off.
I have no idea why but my suddenly works again. Im happy but confused
You shouldn't need any drivers at all for windows XP vista 7 ect. Mounting your SD card, using flash drives... all use the same USB mass storage divice driver built into windows.

Is that also running Windows 8.1? I don't have experience with 8.1 but I've heard it causes problems detecting devices. Try Windows 7, if it still doesn't pick up a sound, check your USB drivers under Device Manager. Make sure 'Google Nexus ADB is listed.'

I'm assuming you are on stock ROM with locked bootloader? It's possible when you manually powered down your phone it corrupted your ROM and recovery along with it.
This is a long shot but try to uninstall skipsoft and naked drivers. Install Android SDK. Have a read through this http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_fastboot_intro. If you can get fastboot to register then your phone may be saved yet. Or if you already tried all this and it still doesn't work then there's nothing more I can assist you with. Good luck.

Is that also running Windows 8.1? I don't have experience with 8.1 but I've heard it causes problems detecting devices. Try Windows 7, if it still doesn't pick up a sound, check your USB drivers under Device Manager. Make sure 'Google Nexus ADB is listed.'

Just FYI, on Windows 8.1, the issue you heard about had to do with MS pushing an Asus Generic USB Driver update which was the cause of the issue. Here is the fix: http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-...usb-issue-since-last-windows-8-1-updates.html
