Im using this rom for about 3 days now with the latest kernel and it is quite stable until now. The battery issue remains. After switched to 2G network only, battery performance is better. This rom uses camera app from ICS and autofocus works.

There is no official MIUI rom, it is port probably from HTC HD2.

If this rom has got ics camera app working, will it help in solving the camera issue in S5 ics roms, in any manner?
Cheers!

It has the same interface with all other miui roms, the difference is the tweeks from the developer in the base rom. For example with this rom i got 80 hours of standby ( 2G network) which is much better from 50-55 hours with previous roms.

I am not a developer but i don't think so. The app use the libs from GB as any other camera app but as i said i am not a developer.
It's still GB, it even says so in the screenshots (assuming they're accurate to the rom)

First post updated with dropbox links after jyeshta001 request.
Im using this rom for 3 weeks now and it is very stable. Battery life in 2G network is very good, with moderate use the battery lasts for about 80-96 hours. I use 406 baseband and works great, no random reboots, no wifi freeze, no lag, very good sound quality.
Thats all for now.
Just informed from a member that picture messages don't work. As i don't use picture messages i can't confirm it. If someone else has or fixed this issue please post.
already installed this rom, so far so good. can't say more about battery. MIUI control doesn't work. Can somebody tell me is auto brightness (costum) work?

it works very well
Now i use your rom. it works great . I THINK IT BETER THAN MMIUI 2.4 ENGLISH VERSION. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Guide..
Currently i am using MIUI2.4.2 English Version.. Can i directly Upgrade to this or should i flash to this version as a new ROM..? I experience poor battery life with my current ROM.. So i like to see this ROM having good battery life but i dont want full flash..

My device is at 389, above the Moto Droid, and below the SE Experie X10i, HTC Desire, Nexus One, Galaxy 5, Droid X, and Nexus One 2.2+. The Nexus One 2.2+ is around 1,300.
Here is my current build.prop file. I am overclocked to 710 btw. Any clue what I can do to improve performance?

You can tone back auto killer to strict. I'm still running kaosfroyo v34 auto killer set to strict and I get 438. I have to ask though are you running setcpu and mine you try going back to v34. The only issue I have is with the gallery switching portrait to landscape and that's it.

what would I expect going to v34? I will try setting it to strict and see if the performance is better..though I would think if I keep it to aggresive, naturally it would run better.
High benchmark scores do not necessary guarantee you the best performance results.
It's like overclocking a computer. You can overclock a CPU to squeeze the most juice out of it as possible, but in return, you'll get a very unstable system. The trick is to find a balance, not shoot for the stars in benchmark numbers.
Don't let high benchmarks fool you or get you too ambitious. If you use your phone as much as I do, I rely more on stability and overall performance.
Now finding that balance takes tweaking and testing. A link on my sig about improving Eris performance may help you in the right direction but again, it all varies. You have to find your phone's niche.

ha, moved it to strict and went way down...to like 310.
Just ran it again..and got 439. weird.
If I go back to v34, do I need to clear cache and do a fresh install, or will it downgrade appropriately?
Benchmarks mean nothing. Some people overclock very high. If you use a BFS kernel you'll get higher but you'll be less smooth.

Now finding that balance takes tweaking and testing. A link on my sig about improving Eris performance may help you in the right direction but again, it all varies. You have to find your phone's niche.

whew...just updated the kernal and radio....got scared thought I had bricked my phone for a second.
couple questions.
Upgrading the radio..my buddy told me verizon should have phoned home for me to update my phone with a radio update. It didn't.
My baseband version is: 2.42.01.04.27 which is the same as the file I downloaded..so i assume the update was successful.
The kernal...is [email protected] #5
uh...is that the same as 2.6.29.6 Version 5?

Yep, 2.42.01.04.27 is what you want for your radio and your kernel is fine.
ok, after making all the necessary tweaks, including Dialer 1, etc.. while plugged in (which my setcpu profile is at 710 for plugged in) I got 431. This is with optimum Autokiller too.
While unplugged, I just got 441. ha, wtf

I believe you said earlier that you are running KaosFroyo v35-1.
If that is true you would have the following kernel, per Kaos' comments...
"Using Conap's V5 CFS kernel with my own optimizations"
Agressive 806 jit compcache 32heap kaos35 bfs v5 avg. 470 and 5.5 and is smooth and fast and awesome

kaos35-1 BFSv5, JIT, SetCPU [email protected], vm heap=32 i get 5.446 and 498. My old eris running an older version of tazz was oc'ed to 810 and that got 5.6 and 510

Yes, I am running 35-1. The kernal I installed came from Jsuh's blog/recommendation..so I guess I may have overwritten the kernal that came with 35-1.
with that said..my buddy mentioned if I upgraded my radio, I would have to do the programming update via Verizon. He questions whether my radio really got upgraded because I never had to do that. Thoughts?

what is this 5.5 stuff? maybe I missing something. My benchmark screen just has me barely above the Moto Droid and at 433.
sounds like maybe I should bump up my heap vm size.
Also, in quandrant looked at my system info...didn't realize the Max frequency for the Eris is 864 MHz. I run at a max of 710 using SetCpu.
increasing my setCPU to 768 gave me a marginal bump, from 433 to 446.
It obviously isn't dead on because I can run 3 times in a row and get anywhere between 350 and 460.

this will hopefully get updated often, and i have another version im working on thats pretty different than anything else out now.
big thanks to harcore for the great speedmod kernel that this is patched with

This discussion aims at getting our x10 the best ROM or kernel or any MOD of all TIME!!
Benchmarking is an easy way to test your phone performance.Either CPU,2D & 3D graphics or SD card and Data transfer.
you can do it simply by software like AnTuTu or Quadrant.
The Point in this discussion is to test your phone and write ur best score at all time. Then you tell us your phone status.and tell us what is -in your opinion is the cause of your high score,so that we can determine which are best ROMs,Kernels or CPU governors, etc.
Please notice that Benchmarking is A ROUGH indicator of your phone performance. it is not necessarily that your phone is slower if you have lower scores
PLEASE SHARE YOUR
1.Best score.
2.which software did u use? scores are very different.
3.ROM.
4.kernel.
5.CPU min/max.
6.CPU governor.

thanks for doing all these tests..
a large number of app affects memory testing and I/O..but i think not too much it doesn't have great range to play with.
Also i noticed high peaks with AnTuTu reaching above 3000 only with FROYO.
and noticed high graphics scores..may be double GB. but i don't know why .
Can't state that froyo has higher graphics than GB -although i heared alittle of that - Coz i didn't see high benchmarks with Quadrant in froyo.
CyanogenMod 7.2 Nightly for U8800
About
This rom is compiled from latest CM7.2 source with kernel 2.6.35.
Features
Kernel support overclock to 1804MHz.
Default speed to max 806MHz, min 245MHz, ondemand governors.
Compcache is default to 18%.
All languages supported by CM are included. Default to english U.S.
Rom manager and Google apps are not included.
Please down Google apps here (http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip).
Download
http://code.google.com/p/cm7-u8800/downloads/list
Installation
You must have upgraded to the official gingerbread rom and installed CWM recovery 5.0.2.7.
You must wipe data for first time installation.
It takes about 3 minutes to install the rom and 3 minutes for first boot.
Restart the phone several times after first boot, then install google apps, that should avoid some strange behaviors of the rom.
It is better to wipe cache and Dalvik cache for update.
Credit
Thanks to CyanogenMod team, genokolar, dzo, stockwell and other developers of the u8800.

I don't have time to check the graphics yet, besides it is quite ok on my phone.
I've uploaded a new build, it should be the final release of CM 7.2, but I doubt there is much differences between the last build and the new one regarding graphics performance.
You can use Taitanium Backup to remove those app, regarding market app, once you install the google apps and run market, it will update itself, if you got trouble with the update, try clear the data and cache of the market app.

If everyone who sees this could post the kernel setup (overclocking, schedulers, or other tweaks) that has given either a) the best performance or b) the best battery life, it would be awesome and really help noobs like me who have never overclocked
I know that every phone is different and blah blah blah, but I'm hoping that this would at least give us kernel tweaking noobs someplace to start besides just changing random settings and hoping for the best.
Thank you all in advance, all contributions are welcome
When posting, please state if you are addressing performance or battery life tweaks, and what Android version those were applied on just to make things a bit easier to follow
:good: :good:
Thanks!

Like I said, please indicate if thats for performance, or battery life, just helps to sort things out

Oh its been the best all around performance I could find. Only thing that ran generally better was an old sparksco kernel. And with wifi the phone can last days

Cmon guys, theres gotta be more people who have good settings.

I'm by no means an expert on the subject but I run:
1.728/184 performance noop.
Honestly, I'd like to know the meanings of all the governors and I/o schedulers to have a better understanding of it. Mine is set for performance, obviously, but the battery life is not that bad. I always keep a charger with me though because I use my phone heavily everyday.

I got tons of stuff, just most of it's not very organized... I'll try to post some tweaks and such up here later when I get off work. I wish there was a tool to organize my computer and SD card for me... But it probably wouldn't do it the way I want

I've tried several combonations and the one I like most on my Shift is 1.2 max 245 min Interactive, noop. That seems to give me the best ballance between battery life and performance. My favorite kernels for sense ROMs have been Strapped's Supreme Sense kernel and Dodge's v1.6. Others are good too, these are just my favorites.

Or here is the sysctl.conf file with the tweaks listed above. Place in system/etc with a root browser, fix permissions, and reboot

Oh and the sysctl.conf file is meant for 4.1+ AOSP, make a nand first, I can't guarantee anything under that... Just make a nand. I don't see why it wouldn't work on lower versions but I don't know, I only run JB now.

To support what bilgerryan said, I tried the sysctl.cont file on sense gb before and it didn't help.

Yeah just be careful with using it with Sense, I've seen it cause boot loops on TouchWiz (people never listen... Or is it that they just didn't read the instructions?). Either way, it's meant for JB AOSP and probably won't work on anything below ICS.
The build.prop tweaks work on all ROMs tho.

The sysctl.conf or the build.prop tweaks? I'm talking about the specific sysctl.conf that I linked to above Just for clarification. You can use a sysctl.conf file on any ROM, just saying these tweaks I did for JB.
And as far as overclocking on the Shift I use the same settings as Chad except I use Smartass (or v2 if available) and sio or deadline for I/O
