Cant recieve calls sometimes - HD2 General

Hello
My HD2 does have full signal, but sometimes when people call me they get a phone is not available reply. I have tested this with a different radios, roms even on android and wp7. I've even tried switching to 3g even though im on a prepaid card. Please help!

You have a faulty SIM card, I would try getting another SIM card. If this does not help you may have issues with the SIM card tray in your device. If you have full signal then you do not have a reception or antennae issue and what I have mentioned is really the only next logical reason for your issue. ssIM cards just like anything else go bad from time to time even if they are not that old.

He's right, this is what I suspect too: a faulty SIM card.
Even it looks a bit odd, faulty SIM cards can be (more often than expected, and I mean it!) a p.i.t.a.
As a side note: I encountered a SIM card that was working perfectly with some common phones (nokia, zte or whatever), but not working at all with a Samy Exhibit 4g until SIM card replaced!

Its not a faulty sim card. Used 3 different sim cards including 1 from another carrier. Had the same problems

Currently I flashed the 2.12 radio and it seems to accept calls better sometimes but I still recieve the call error less frequently now.

Well seeing as you have tried different SIM cards then it very well may be a issue with your SIM card tray then. But I do suggest you flash the 2.15.50.14 radio and see if that helps, but I have a feeling you were already using it before you flashed the 2.12 radio.

Sim Card Cloning?

Is there a way I can clone/duplicate my sim card? I have a 8525 with BB connect but I also have a Blackberry, and I want to have the same chip in both so I can utilize either one without having to swap sim cards all the time. I know that I cannot have both on at the same time, but I am just paranoid about messing with sim card too much.
theoretically you can, but its a very complex progress on the new cards and im not aware of anyone who has cracked it. On older SIM cards it is possible however, so it really depends how old it is.
The problem is network authentication; the card connects to the network which then sends out a 'key'. To connect, the phone must respond with the correct answer which it deciphers from that key. On older sim cards there was a way of tricking the card into giving up the algorithm used to calculate its response, but the security is a lot harder to crack on new cards.
What does those duplicators do that I see all the time. What about the universal cards? I thought there might be a way of using something like that to copy the card. But maybe I am wrong.
You can try this, its the most popular cloning software that will do a full clone (its spanish)
http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?u=http%3A%2F%2Fsimemu.cjb.net%2F&langpair=es%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8
Like i said, people clone the older cards. It can depend on your network and what checks they perform, etc I know here in the UK the networks are quite tight, but its not the same everywhere.
Thanks, I will check this out and see what I can do with it.

Hermes cannot read some sim cards?

I have two sim cards, one for my relative and one for me. Both sim cards work on a Treo 650 I have, however, only my relative's sim card works on my 8525. The phone is unlocked and I can make calls and stuff on my relative's sim card. But when I put my sim card in the 8525, I get the invalid or missing sim card message. I have checked thoroughly that the sim card is inserted correctly.
This does not make sense. My sim card works fine as it works in the Treo 650.
Does that mean that the some sim cards are incompatible with the Hermes?
make sure its one of Cingular's new 64K SmartCards or whatever their called
their 3G Sim Cards
im not so sure if the old ones work?
they forced me to get a new one when i bought mine - even though it was already a 3g card...just an "old 3g Card" ? lol
well both of my sims are t-mobile sims, so maybe thats not it.
I have a 16k, 32k, and 64k simcard. All of them work on other phones Ive tried but the 32k sim does not work on the 8525 I have.
can someone verify this? It seems kinda weird that 32k sims do not work.
Give it some time

Few weeks ago I had to replace my SIM card, when I used the new one for the first time my 8525 didn´t recognized it, I tried then in other phones and worked fine with the others, so I call my tel co and had them to check my liene, they told that everything was OK and asked me to wait 24 hours!! I didn´t have to wait that long, it took about 5hrs and my 8525 started working as before.
BTW My SIM card is a 32K one.
seems like the problem was with my sim card, t-mobile replaced it and it works now....now to get tzones working *SIGH*

Sim card issue

Hello guys
I'm having an issue when my x10 says there's no Sim card inside and the problem isn't with my Sim card since I tried in my old phone and it works. Even other Rogers Sim card don't work. Anyway I tried taking the battery out and after 3 attempt its working again. So, I want to know anyone else having the same problem and what's the solution?

I had the same issue but mine was a little different. My Xperia would not accept my rogers Sim ( 3 years old ) but it worked fine in all my other handsets.. it was the Sim card in my case and I was surprised to have it replaced free of charge.. also I found that some of the Sims are thinner than others so they would not have enough pressure to make a good contact. A quick fix from my friends Nokia was some clear tape on the back of his sim and it worked perfect.
Good luck!

TMobile's customer service department told me to bend the sim card very gently to ensure good contacts are made. Did this on first day and not had any problems since (famous last words... I'll be digging out the tape by tomorrow!)
My Sim card is like 5 year old anyway It's working now

All u guys with 5yr old simcards need to get rid of them! Those have like 28kb of storage on them, so their phone books are so, so limited!
I know! U use the phones memory, which is a whooooooole bunch! But if your phone ever crashed, all your contacts will be gone! U cannot always copy the entire list of contacts to the sim card, but with a newer 3G simcard, you can copy a lot more than your 5yr old sim card can hold.
These are free! Just walk into your provider's store and request a new simcard. U dont even have to show them what kind of phone u have (ahem!... those of us who are skimming with grandfathered data plans ). Just walk in and say "left my phone at work, but I need a simcard".
I think this thread will help you
as it does for me

I checked that thread, but I hadn't rooted my x10a yet. Going waiting until something extraordinary happens
Someday I will change my sim card lol

[Q] No Service

Hi,
i have installed NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.7 nand through MAGLDR with lastest radio to my HD2 but keep getting no service i have tried re-installing from scratch factory reset and other roms still get the same problem eveytime,
does any body have any ideas ? should i downgrade the radio? if so to what version ?
any help would be great , everthing else seems fine WIFI usb etc ....
a problem like that isn't down to what radio you're using, so dont bother going down the route of trying loads of radios, , , flash one of the later ones (many people settle on 2.12.50 2.14.50 and 2.15.50) and then move on.
No service is more usually a dodgy sim card, knackered/dirty sim card slot (can you read the contacts to/from the sim card? tested the sim in another phone?((though even that isn't 100% accurate, there have been threads where a sim card worked in other phones, but not in the hd2, a new sim sorted it)), a blacklisted phone, perhaps, or (and i think I've seen this mentioned) even the sd card can mess up the sim card.
Or, if you mean it connects to the network a bit, but drops out a lot, then it could be down to the two prongs inside that press against the inner casing to use it as an aerial, they can be pried up a little to connect more firmly against the casing, , there's a thread about it, google 'improving reception hd2 inurl:xda-developers' or something similar.

3 different sim cards and non of them worked? Install WinMo and see if you get a signal there.

tried windows mobile dark forces ultra fruit get "sim error sim card is missing or invalid"
Winmo = Windows Mobile 6.5 (Stock HD2's OS, and NOT DFT's UltraFruit Windows Phone 7)
Anyway, since you tried the sims on another operating system regardless of what it is and you still got an error, it's probably a hardware thing.
Try to read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31975638&postcount=2 again!

[Q] Sim card broken.

Hi guy,
There is a strange problem with sim cards in my country (Romania).Every now and then you can find that you have no signal and your sim is "demagnetized" (thats what they say) and i have to play @ 10E to change my sim card.
This can happen 5-6 a year or not even once in 10 years.
And my question is: is this happening in your country too or is this just a mode of making money?

Here in the US, the only time i run into issues with a Sim card, is if changing phones... for example, the sim card would be an older type, and the phone woulnd't support it.
Other than that, i personally have not had a Sim go bad.
does this happen to multiple sim cards in one phone? or is this in different phones you observe this?
Cheers
