Monitor mode for Samsung Galaxy SII and Nexus One - Networking

Hello forum, jumping through blogs in my country (Argentina) i got to this proyect of some guys who are planning to give monitor mode and packet injector in broadcom wifi chipsets 4329 (Nexus One) and 4330 (Galaxy SII) at the moment, but said that they may release for other phones in due time.
Currently its just monitor mode and support for the airmon-ng but maybe we will be able to aircrack with our phones, here you have the link to the website (i read the rules and didn't see anything against external links, and this is freeware so i think there will be no problem, if there is a problem just tell me and i will try to copy the web's information.

Device as WiFi Access Point

Is it possible for any of the current 3G phones with WiFi to act as a WiFi Access Point for other devices?
I currently have a Jasjar with Vodafone IE's unlimited data plan for €40 per month and would love to have the Jasjar acting as a WiFi access point at home, in car etc.
Also with HSPDA now available I don't mind changing to another WM5 device that supports the higher speed and could act as an WiFi access point
I'd like to know the answer to this also as when I get my Vario 2 with unlimited data i thought it would be cool to use this to play on the Nintendo DS WiFi service... wishful thinking maybe.
Currently, it's very hard to do what you ask for as the OS doesn't support connection sharing; it must be done with third-party apps like the commercial version of Toonel or my HTTP proxy.
Please read my latest AKU3-related article (posted a few days ago to the General forum here); in there, I've elaborated on this question a lot.
I'm guessing the AKU3 article is the same one as you posted recently on your Smartphone and PocketPCMag blog.
The link to the proxy is prtty cool and may come in handy in the future when I get the Vario 2 (TyTn) and unlimited data. For now I've installed it all on my Wizard to get an idea of how it all works. Unfortunately theres no PAN support on the wizard but there is on my stand alone PDA.
Anyway thanks for your help, I'm still gonna keep a look out for anything that could possibly make the Pocket PC identify itself as a WiFi Access Point (As the Nintendo DS does not support Ad Hoc and only Ap's) and will continue to read your blog.

Samsung galaxy s2 802.1x

Hello people,
I maybe wanna buy the samsung galaxy s2,
But i got 1 big problem.
I dont know if it supports 802.1x
Could someone please help me with this.
Greetz
when you say 802.1x, do you mean 802.11 a/b/g/n??? as in wifi??
full spec is HERE if this helps
In wifi security there's 801.1x eap, probably for wpa enterprise, never used ...
Quick look in the specs (which you could have done yourself.... hmmmm? ) tells us that it does. If you're looking for a specific encryption and authentication scheme you'll have to give more info.
Is somewhat working, I didn't try it, but some people report that this feature is broken in 2.3.3

Adding dongle support

Hi All,
Im hoping someone can help. I have looked around these forums and been trawling the internet in search on an answer to the following with very little luck.
I have a Karbonn Smart Tab 1 with the following specs.
SIM: 2G, 3G
3G enabled: yes
Screen size: 17.8 cm
Screen quality: Capacitive 5 Point Multi Touch Screen
Processor: 1.2 GHz
OS: Android v4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
Primary camera: 2 MP Front Camera
Expandable Memory up to 32 GB
Full HD Video Playback up to 1080p
Color: Silver grey back and black sides
Its a very nice little tablet for the price you pay.
The problem im having is connecting my Huawei E173 dongle.
When i plug it in all i get is the storage registering and thats it.
I have contacted the manufacturer to ask which dongles are support and non of them are available to me (problems of living in Zimbabwe)
My questions is:
What is the best way to build in support for this device on my Karbonn?
Is it something a noob (like my self can do).
I did use Free BSD about 6 years ago but have had little interaction with Linux / unix since then.
Any help would be appreciated.

Why do you need the 3G Dongle when your tablet got 3G support already built in?
No sim card slot

The 3G is provided by a list of supported dongles and not (unfortunately) by a sim card slot.

Ah, ok. Confusing spec.
In general, implementing support for a new dongle is quite complicated require a new Linux kernel build, re-flashing the tablet etc. Not very noob friendly at all.
But if you are very lucky, your tablet already got the required drivers compiled into the kernel. The trick is that the kernel can't see the 3G modem as is right now. This is because it is identifying itself as a storage device, and not a modem. In the dongle there's a software switch you need to turn, changing it from storage device to modem. Try flipping it, and see if the kernel and the rest of the table accepts it.
You need a software to flip this switch you'll have to download and compile. You able to compile native code for your tablet?
You find the software here: http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/
Edit: You are in luck. there's a pre-compiled binary for ARM at the same site. http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/usb_modeswitch-1.1.9-arm-static.bz2
Edit2: You want to read this as well I just stumbled upon: http://iamswagat.blogspot.in/2012/05/configure-funbook-to-use-any-dongle-and.html

The S5 is a new model and more to the point uses a newer and unsupported Broadcom chipset. If you read the reaver, bcmon, et cetera threads you would know that they don't work on the S5.
Until someone figures out how to interface with the newer chipset, it's simply not going to work on the S5.

You need the wifi chipset to operate in promiscious mode to monitor. Where else would you get the packet envelopes? It's difficult to imagine how any app would do so without the Broadcom chip set to Promiscious mode.

[Q] 4G wont connect to internet while wifi is connected to non internet device.

Hi,
My 3dr solo drone uses my edge+ for displaying flight info and google maps for the area i am flying in, well at least it should have, and it works brilliantly on all other brands like moto, nexus, nvidia tablet etc..
The problem seems to exist on a all samsung galaxy device, tested it on my Tab S as well, and have gotten the same answer from other users with other galaxy devices.
Even if the wifi is connected to a non internet device the phone should be able to connect to internet through the 4g at the same time, but that doesn't happen, cant be an android thing since it works on most other brands, even work on my Windows pc
If there isn't any fix for it, would it be possible to work around this in the done app running on the phone ? i know the developer so if that's the case it could be implemented in the app.

I have the same problem when connecting my S6 edge plus with my Nikon D5500.
But I don't think there is a solution for this.
