Hi all,
I am just wondering.
All ICS leaks had the ghost image at boot.
Now the new official ICS OTA is said to be the same build as vache's 031 leak dated March 29 and ROMs based on the 031 leak such as Flexreaper 12,5 are also up to date.
So is the ghosting at boot gone in ICS OTA ?
Thanks.
After running a rooted stock ICS on my A500 for a while, I upgraded to JB using pjsports "ROM | WIP | CM10 JellyBean 4.1.2 Unofficial for acer a500 [Build 3]"
In the process, I used the AfterOTA tool to install the ICS V8 unlocked bootloader, as well as an updated kernel I believe.
Aside from a few glitches, the ROM worked okay, but I think I had the memory leak problem everyone talks about... My icons & widgets on the homescreen would disappear, forcing me to reboot. I ultimately flashed back to an ICS rom, but maintained the kernel and bootloader. To my surprise, the problem with the homescreen icons remained, forcing me to reboot at least once a day.
I ended up reflashing the stock ICS unrooted rom with stock kernel and bootloader, then went through the rooting process again.
The tablet has been running smoothly ever since with no memory leak issue.
So I'm wondering... Is the memory leak and homescreen icon problem really a problem with the Jelly Bean ROMs or is there possibly a problem with the bootloader or kernel?
A temporary Xposed fix for part of Lollipop 5.0.x memory leak issues has just been released by tonyp.
It might be interesting for those of you running Lollipop ROMs and being annoyed by this issue.
According to tonyp, the Android 5.1 fix has already been implemented in CM12 for two weeks, so for those running CM12 nightlies there is no need to use this fix. The fix should therefore also be present in new versions of Lollipop CM12-based ROMs, but until then it could be a relief.
So feel free to test it and tell us if it shows improvements!
I clean flashed the latest cm13 nightly with the relevant gapps.
I noticed there are two camera apps now.Am I the only one having this issue
Why substratum theming not working on unofficial cm 14 ROM... I'm at latest build, I got bootloop every time. :crying:

Because of November security patch.... Wait for CM theme engine to get merged or December Security patch to be corrected..... Or use older builds...
