[Q] Galaxy tab 2 screen suddenly blocked: unique solution is reboot - Galaxy Tab 2 General

Hi to all,
I'm italian person. I'm writing to this forum because I have a problem.
It is the third time in twenty days I bought the tablet Galaxy tab 2 10.1 P5100 that while I am doing things, the tablet freezes, no button no longer works and I just have to restart by holding down the power button for 7 seconds.
The first two times it happened while I was reading on Wattpad app. The third time it happened while I was on the browser (but I remember having opened just before Wattpad only a moment).
I have ICS 4.0.3.
Can anyone tell me what can I do?
You think it is a software problem?
Thanks .... I do not know what to do.

Locks up, bootloader reset

So, when i first got this eee pad i installed all the apps that looked shiny to me, and after a few days it locked up and i had to reset it.
The day after, i only installed 3.1 approved programs and it ran for another 2 days and locked up again.
So, the 3rd time i decided not to install a single program, not even setup my email account on it, and it ran for another 2 days and crashed again.
This has now happened on superstock 2 more times. And i've had it.
It either freezes or shuts of, and when i try to start it it hangs on the asus bootup screen.
One weird thing ive found on mine is that i cant shut it completly off.. When i hold in the powerbutton for (10-12sec) it just restarts after 8 secs.
Any1 else RMA'ed their product for this behaviour?

[Q] [TPT] Performance Issue

Dear all,
I have searched for topics like this, but I didnt found something.
My TPT actually works very slow. This issue is new for me. I rooted and updated to latest version half a year ago and it works fine for me.
But since a week I have seriously trouble:
- the TPT reacts very slow - sometimes 10 seconds after starting an app, switching to another app, entering a website name in browser
- sometimes the window to choice "warten"/"wait" or "abbrechen"/"cancel" will be displayed?
- so all the interactions needs much response time. Sometime f.i.when I enter text it works... but stops after 5-10 letters and comes back after seconds.
What I have found out, the system every time has traffic on the WLAN.
Do you have ideas to try?
Thanks in advance & BR

[Q&A]How to disable random reboots by pressing power button in pocket/case/pouch etc.

[Q&A]How to disable random reboots by pressing power button in pocket/case/pouch etc.
The Note 3 is a great phone however I had serious problems with the Power Button, apparently it's an sensible button causing random reboots when I putted the phone in my pocket or in a Belt Clip Holster Case Cover, even with lockscreen activated.
It was driving me crazy till I installed app Smart Lockscreen Protector available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nezdroid.lockscreenprotector Installed the app on my (rooted) Note 3 (SM-N9005) and no reboots anymore while lockscreen is activated.
The problem and solution by way of the app was already described before on XDA however it's posted in the Note 2 section so IMO it can't hurt to mention it in the Note 3 section too. Here the link to the original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302169
FWIW the app will solve the problem on the Note 1, 2 and 3 and other phones (with Android 2.2 and higher). No root required.
My thanks to XDA-member Primokorn for providing the solution.

Note 4 will Auto Restart even not using it!!

Hi,
Everyone here, just got my new Galaxy Note 4 yesterday.
I have encountered this issue, the Note 4 will auto restart after not using it for a while, say 10 to 30 minutes it will auto restart. At first, I thought I was accidentally pressed the power button but I put it on my table not using it for a while it will auto restart.
Latest: I used the Note 4 to call my friend in the midst of the call, the phone auto restarted.
Till now, I still not yet install any program into the phone, still in its original condition.
Anyone here know what's wrong with my Note 4? or have experienced the similar problem in your other phone? How to solve it?
Could this hardware failure or software problem?
Thank you.

No problems here. I suggest you do a factory reset and see if the problem still occurs. If it doesn't, one of the apps you installed is the culprit. If it does, I think you need a replacement.

Thank you for your replied and suggested help.
In fact, I did one time factory reset but after that the Note 4 still auto restarted.
When the phone was in my hand from the shop till now I did not install any program into it.
Anyone know why the phone will auto restart?
Thank you
Go back with your phone where you bought it and ask for a new one!
Maybe a faulty unit. It's their fault. You can plead a compensation tho'.
This was sent from my Lenovo A850 via XDA mobile app.

I am having the same issue, although I have installed some apps on my Note 4. Also, I tried uninstalling apps, and changed some settings. Every time it auto restarts, it reverts back to the settings from before, and shows all of the apps back on the device. I'm not sure what is going on with it, but it is extremely irritating. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm using the device or not. It's completely random.
Check to make sure your battery is seated properly (no loose contacts). Otherwise, it might be a faulty unit. A large batch of Nexus 7s had a similar issue and they all had to be sent in for a warranty repair.
after i removed my sd card and tested for 2 days no random restart and shutdowns.interesting.
My FIL had an S4 that kept rebooting.. It turned out to be his SD card... FACT

Note 4 random rebooting
Greetings all,
I have had my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 for a little over a week and I absolutely love it except for the random reboots. The phone reboots randomly, often at at night while on the charger. That is really bad because everytime it does, it wakes me with the T-mobile jingle. I have started muting the audio at night to avoid being awakened by this but that means I cannt be reached by phone while it's muted. I have cleared the cache several times with no improvement and I have done a factory reset once and the problem persists. It seems entirely random. There was one day where I had no reboots. Most days it's a couple or so and one night it rebooted about 5 times durring the night wrecking my sleep. I do use an memory card and I just removed it today as a test. So far no reboots but it's only been a couple of hours so far. This is a significant problem and any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Likewise, I will post any progress I am able to make to this forum.
Thanks

I have the same problem, I do not have memory card inserted into the phone. It wakes me 3-4 times every night. The store sent it to a lab and they said that the phone is fine and does not have any problem. It drives me nuts.

Greetings again,
I returned my Note 4 to T-Mobile and got a brand new phone, and sim card. I have all my software loaded and configured as with the old Note 4 and it's been about 36 hours now with no reboot. If it doesn't happen in the next couple of days or so, I will probably be pretty confident that the problem is solved. I'll keep you updated.
OP, is it rooted? I have the unbranded Note 4 (SM-N910H), I've had mine rooted for 2 weeks and it kept randomly rebooting twice or so every 1-2 days, now I've removed the root and everything seems to be working fine with no reboots since 1 week. I hope this helps.
P.S. I've rooted using the CF Auto root.
Anyone knows why the root was causing random reboots for me? I've tried with knox disabled and enabled and with both options I get the same reboots.
Edit: Forgot to say that most of the random reboots happened while the phone was idle (screen off)
Thanks.
note 4 restarting
I have the same issue .. my note 4 is auto restarting... i use gear s all the time bu connecting it with note 4 via bluetooth and the phone randomly auto restarting .. yesrterday i didn't connect the gear s all the day and the phone works all the day fine and it didn't restart .. so i really don't know what is causing this problem ! Anyone can help?
Frustrating
I have a similar issue with the Note 4.
A few back, it randomly restarted and I lost half of my contacts and settings. I thought it was a one-off occurrence and re installed all my contacts and settings. Today, it kept restarting and hasn't started again. I called ATT and have asked for a replacement.
Hope the new one shapes up better than this. It sounds like there is a hardware defect in a lot of the phones.
Same here N910CQ, brand new one...
