What can we do with these fastboot files? Flash a recovery for exemple?
Or may be update to ICS !!

I've downloaded MZ615_1.6.0_278_1FF.xml Firmware. How do i flash this now on my MZ615? I tried via Fastboot to flash file after file it but i get a Preflash Validation Failure. So what to do now?
Now it wont boot, only Bootloader.

It worked for my Xoom 2 MZ615 US! My Xoom 2 is like new right now!

So i assume there is some kind of signature check prior to flashing.
I have a MZ615 UK and the only file i was able to flash was the motoboot.img. but every file after that gave me a Preflash Validation Failure

Turn off phone, then hold volume down + power on. Phone will enter fastboot mode, connect phone to pc. Extract the fastboot zip into folder then run rsd lite and open the .xml file then hit start button. After flashing completed, phone will fully reboot.
Caution: Backup everything in phone memory because the flashing process will erase everything

Same with RSD Lite, motoboot.img sucessfully flashed, 1st reboot, boot.img fails with Preflash Validation Failure.

Motorola Fleming fastboot ? May I your tablet system version ?

Anybody already downloaded 1.6.0M-281.8-PASTEM_UCATBLT1UMRTCOREEU fastboot File? I tried two times and once the download failed, the other time the zip file was corrupt Anybody with a mirror link as i'm not able to download anymore for today.

Hi Kent,
this could be a noob question, but i have downloaded the french firmware for the mz615 tablet. The ZIP file contains a file named system_signed with no extension. I try to flash it using RSD lite 5.7 by adding XML or SBF extension but i have a "wrong image file" message un RSD. The firmware i downloaded ils the one for my tablet (same name...) so do you see what can be the problem here ?
Thanks

2- RSD lite
This is official software from Motorola to flash Fastboot files to the device, so you have to install the software on your pc or laptop,
After flashing a costum rom, you can revert to stock with this software, also when you are in a
bootloop you can go back to stock Rom with this software:

Some Tips of Razr i:
- when the phone is freezed or you are in a bootloop, you can force the device to power down, just push & hold Vol - and Vol+ and
power buttons at the same time for 10 seconds, the phone will be shut down
- for going to boot menu, first turn off the phone, then push & hold Vol buttons and power button at the same time
for about 10seconds, then you will enter to boot menu, now use Vol - button to scroll and Vol + to select an option.
- for going to Stock Recovery, you have to select "recovery" in boot menu, then you'll see a black screen with Android triangle in the middle, now you have to push Vol - + buttons at the same time to enter to recovery

Extra for newbies !!!
Maybe you can add official links of these tools...
Also, for Mac and Linux users there is sbf_flash: http://dl.opticaldelusion.org/sbf_flash?attredirects=0
Hi thanks for that - I have a Razr on its way to replace my Defy (running CM7 Maniac's version) - obviously I'll be wanting to root it, but wary of guarantee issues. I'm happy with the process of restoring a fastboot file - but can't see a T Mobile UK version on the link provided - has one been sourced yet? (I'm guessing that the Orange and T Mobile files are still different even though they are both now part of EE)

booting failed with the 4.3 update using NRT wug soft ... help

HI dudes,
it seems i screwed up ...
I was in 4.2.2 and I wanted to go to 4.3 (my tab was rooted and unlock)
I decided to use "back to stock" from the wug software (with the 4.3 file) and now
I've got "booting error"
START: booting failed
RECOVERY : booting failed
bootloader : I've got the android character
what can i do now ?
thanks
You've erased your ROM and recovery before the failed flash. You can describe in more detail on the status of your bootloader?
well ... yes ...
booloader version 4.23
lock state unlocked
fastboo mode
product name tilapia
So your bootloader is fine. You can just reinstall all the stock images with fastboot.

Download stock package.
Unzip contents to C:\Program Files\WugFresh Development\data.
Open toolkit > Advanced Utilities > Launch CMD > "flash-all.bat" will restore your device to 4.3 stock.
thanks but do I have to use the 4.3 stock or the 4.2.2 stock like I was before the failed flash ?
You can flash any version you want (4.1.2, 4.2.2, 4.3).
Thanks a lot.
last question :
what kind of model should i use in the configuration ?
4.3 or 4.2.2 ? is it important ?
That will flash all the images. You can flash each image individually.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img

it appears that i need to have an updated bootloader ... i currently have 4.18 and it says the update requires 4.23 ... but when i tried to flash the 4.23 bootloader it says that it sends it to the device just fine but i get the failed message when it tries to write the bootloader ... giving me this message FAILED <remote: invalid Partition Name.> ... <FRUSTRATED> lol ... also i appreciate all your help
UPDATE
ok i finally got it .. i just went and downloaded the factory images for jdq39 (the image that used the bootloader v. 4.18) installed that and then let the tablet update itself... thats what i call a crash course in fastboot lol .. learned the hard way but i think i somewhat understand it now

Turbo Unbrick for Android 4.4.4 - 5.1

There are a few types state of brick of the phone. Let's review two of them:
1. “Softbrick” - the state when the system is not booting, but the PC recognizes the phone as “ADB Device” and the phone can boot to bootloader mode. This state is like a baby's runny nose and can be healed by the simple reflash using RSDLite (the tool avaliable for everybody), or by reflashing the parts of firmware via fastboot.
2. 'Hardbrick' - the hard case that needs a lot of work and knowledge. Sometimes hardware intervention needed in order to fix the phone (test-point contacts closure, battery disconnection, etc). Sometimes the phone could not be repaired without motherboard replacement.
We'll review the phone recovery after the second type of bricking.
The phone in “hardbrick” state is recognized by PC as:
- “Unknown device”. In this case you need to install the Qualcomm USB drivers on PC by hands from the attached file "Qualcomm_USB_Drivers.7z" (download it and unpack to any path you want). The phone will be recognized by PC as “Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9008” device after the driver's installation. Sometimes it is needed to disconnect the phone and to hold the power button during 20-30 seconds to recognize the phone.
- “Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9008” (nothing happens when you press the buttons on the phone). No needed installation driver's in this case.
The PC will see your phone as shown on picture.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then the wonderful utility “TURBO-UNBRICK” comes to the rescue. This is a small program but it makes a great job.
Unpack the archive that includes the utility, connect the phone to PC and run “go” file. And you will observe that your brick will become alive! You will see the next picture at your revived phone's screen:
It's almost a win but you need to make some more actions.
Put the files gpt.bin, radio.img, bootloader.img (also attached), to the “C:\adb” folder on your PC and run the next commands in the command line:
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot
Now you can enjoy! Your friend is alive and greets you by its bootanimation. In that case when you've broken the firmware and the phone is not booting after the bootanimation, you need reboot in bootloader and reflash the firmware by RSDLite.

P9 Lite bricked

Hello,
I was on B336 and wanted to root it. All good, I followed the steps, and accidentally wiped cache&dalvik... Bootloop. Then I tried to downgrade to MM... No success... After that, something told me to wipe system, data, Dalvik, cache, everything except for Internal Storage, phone storage... I tried then to flash EMUI 5 beta 336... It didn't work. I tried then to flash Meticulus TWRP instead of Revolution TWRP... It did not work... I tried to dload MM stock, it did not work...
I'm stuck with:
-No OS
-Revolution TWRP
-Meticulus TWRP doesn't boot
Is there anything I can try to get it booting or I can throw the phone into the garbage bin?
I even tried to flash Meticulus TWRP with the RevolutionRecovery (I know, I know) and of course it did not work...
If you are with no OS
flash via fastboot system.img boot.img cust.img and recovery.img using app extractor
I don't remember the exact order (yes, you must flash them in a specific order)

Found the order:
- Fastboot flash boot boot.img
- Fastboot flash system system.img
- Fastboot flash cust cust.img
But I can't understand the part about app extractor. Can you explain please?
There is an app called app extractor (you can easily find here in the forums)
You put your Update.app file (the one you should put on the dload folder) and the app extract you these files
After you flash them via adb
I had your problem and solved using this
(Sorry for my english)

Tried two times with no success... I'll try switching ports.
Sounds similar to what I had. Take a look here.
The solution in brief was:
1. Go into bootloader to flash recovery (I used Revolution Recovery)
2. In recovery, flash OEM info.
3. Then used the 3-button method to install stock version for the appropriate model (which I could see from OEM info).
4. Unlocked bootloader, triggering a factory reset. (I was stuck in infinite boot before this point.)

Make sure you’ve backed up all of your IMPORTANT DATA before downgrading
I am not responsible for bricked devices and dead SD cards. YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
First and foremost, please install ZenFone 3 Drivers via Device Manager (Download drivers on ASUS Support Website)
1) Download RAW firmware here:
ZC553KL:
2) Download ASUS Flash Tool here:
3) Flash the firmware via ASUS Flash Tool by entering FASTBOOT MODE (Power Button + Volume Up) & DO NOT WIPE DATA!
4) Wait for 5-10 minutes
5) After downgrading, please wipe data/cache via recovery mode (Power Button + Volume Down)
Congratulations, you've downgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow

This is a RAW file, not a firmware zip. Do not extract this file. Just flash it via ASUS Flash Tool.

It's a RAW zip but named but ends with a .zip name. Try to open and see the .zip file. It has RAW firmware.
DO NOT EXTRACT IT!

To restore IMEI flash N-HOLOS.bin from Nougat raw firmware.
After flashing N-HOLOS.bin IMEI will be restored but video recording will stop working. To fix that also lash adspso.bin from Nougat firmware
in fastboot: flash dsp adspso.bin. It worked for me.
