[Q] Help-------------Defy Bricked---------More than 10 days - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I read your thread where you responded to details about downgrade.
I have one question for you, which may help me in unbricking my defy?
I used RSD lite to flash a official or full sbf (nordic froyo)
but the phone did not boot despite pass message on RSD lite
The phone does not go into boot loader or recovery. Though it is recognized on RSD and i can flash a ROM.
I do not know the BL version of my last froyo ROM.
Is the only reason for this to happen is a higher CG version. Should i try BL6 froyo?
regards

[Q] Motorola Defy plus (+) Many questions.

I noticed that the focus here is more on the Motorola Defy than Defy Plus (+). I need some help with a defy + that was purchased for my mother.
It is currently running on Stock 2.3.4 (build: 4.5.1-134_DFP-891 , Ver: 45.0.891.MB526.Asiaretail.en.03) Rooted.
However, they prompted me to update my firmware to Ver: 45.0.1321.en.03 recently.
Wondering if i were to update, will i lose root?
I rooted Defy+ with superoneclick 2.3.3.
Also, any good Custom roms to recommend for Defy +?
Will the procedures be the same as Flashing a Custom rom on HTC Sensation?
Where CWM or 4ext can be flashed to boot into as recovery and flashing firmware?
Thanks a million in advance for the help..
first of all, read this.
If you upgrade, you will lose your root, but as far as i know, the 2.3.6 can be rooted too with the latest superoneclick.
the best custom rom is definitely cyanogenmod (cm7), which can be used with 2.3.6, just install 2ndinit for defy, and there you go!
im not familiar with the flashing process of htc sensation, so i cant help you with that. flashing a full stock rom can be done with motos program rsd lite, while flashing a custom rom is done via cwm.

That's not a Milestone 2 ROM, it's for a Droid 2, you must use the CM9 on MS2 Dev forum, not the one from the CyanogenMod page

[Q] Motorola Defy - how to remove cyanogen mod?

Recently I've wanted to remove cyanogen mod. I've found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176753
But, the problem is that the cyonagen mod gave the phone 4.1.2. If I use these files to flash back to stock: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=27 , they are all 2.x.x.
What I'm worried is that this is downgrading the phone so will I brick the phone if i flash it using those files?
Also will flashing back to stock automatically remove Cyanogen mod?
Thanks.
Bump.....
No problems there. You can downgrade from 4.1 to 2.2. But, if you flash the 2.3.6 Defy+ SBF or any BL7 SBF, it won't be possible to downgrade to 2.2. Basically once you go a higher official Motorola android version (upto 2.3.6, which is official), you can't downgrade to a lower version.
