Download a stock ROM from our backup here: http://qrac.zapto.org/Stock_ROMs/
"U8800 V100R001C00B138SP04%28Normal%29.rar" is Android 2.2 Froyo
"U8800V100R001C00B518G001 (Beta1.0)(Overseas Normal)(Gingerbread).zip" is Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread beta.
You will find the installation instructions inside the .zip or .rar file.
(I'm guessing you have made those Nandroid backups using an old CWM version.)

Is that the official release for Moto Milestone 2 in China?
Can we confirm that the bootloader it's still locked, right?
If thats true, we can forget proper customs roms.

yep. Updating. Try to find another way to update from GB leak. Not from froyo.
Also I guess there is no fastboot commands.
So, unlocked bootloaders coming Q4 should be only for other phones.
Let's see if at least this updates brings a newer kernel.

Yep. We have an update in kernel rather than the old leak kernel.
Cool. Now we need to make 2init work with this kernel. And a custom rom based on gb. Is there a defys cm7 based on gb?

No, at least for now. But I think DEFY team will consider building a GB based CM8 for android 4.0. Since our GB kernel can boot defy/defy+ GB ROM
I really hate that 115.com download site. It never seems to work here. I'll just wait untill there are some usable mirrors.
I'm currently downloading on my server
The first file is here : http://android.loicg.net/roms/signed-delta-ota-Blur_Version.2.6.0-45.1.zip
and the second : http://android.loicg.net/roms/MLS2G...LESTONE2GCCORE_P018_A030_HWp2a_Service1FF.rar
Is it rootable? Has someone tried to root it?
Here are some mirrors for you:
http://mir.cr/FGIEBRFY
Has anyone tried it yet?? Any comments or reviews would be nice.
Flashing 2.6 rigth now, already downloaded the OTA, just a few more minutes I supose for the upgrade, later, a mini review, and if I can root a nandroid backup.
Until now, just flash, wipe cache/data... Boot Ok!, I have to rename the OTA file name to update.zip
I got signature fail from the update package :'(
Bad copy, just download again, and it work!
Appying update now
Update Succesfull, Kernel Version [email protected] #1
Build 4.5.3-109_MS2
I guess root only will work replacing smg files

I have a nandroid backup of my Stock firmware which was 2.3.6
But two days ago, I flashed to Froyo using RSDLite so I could install MIUI
But even the pikachu edition didn't fix the battery bug so I decided to revert back to my nandroid backup but the phone wouldn't boot (which im guessing is because the phone was then on froyo kernel)
So I downloaded a gingerbread SBF from one of the threads here and flashed using RSDlite, and which turned out to be 2.3.4. This is giving me a lot of bugs(most of the apps don't open after few hours of usage). I still have my nandroid backup of my stock 2.3.6 ROM
So my question is:
Can I change my kernel to 2.3.6's version and restore my original nandroid backup?? If so can anyone please link me to the proper kernel
Thanks!
Try the Kernel from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494231
Thanks, but right now im on 2.3.4. So should i flash this kernel?

you can backup the rom via cwm and copy the file something that is names as 2-1-2012-2- something in the clockworkmod folder on your sdcard and paste in in the same folder of your sisters phones sd card in the clockworkmod folder, and vice versa...give it a try it wont brick
Yeah it works.
I've done that before because I lost my own backup of stock rom when my pc went bonkers. Apparently you need a backup of the backup. Lol.

I tried a few methods but could you tell me how to install CWM permananently on the galaxy y? I have the temporary one. As in I have to flash it repeatedly everytime I use it!
Help me out
Also, I tried backing it up using the temporary CWM it won't install. Quite a long back up goes on for a while and in the end it says "can't mount /data!". Tell me how do I back it up because I'm dying to put in a new rom
Lastly, what roms are there for this phone? Good ones?

There's no permanent cwm recovery for SGY yet, ya i know that's sad!
Good ROMS? Try creeds 2.0 and Hybrid
but doesn't creed's have a lot of bugs? I have seen a lot of threads on XDA saying so.
What about the error while backing up my system? it says "can't mount /data!" in the end and that's it! though there is a backup file generated in my sd card
creeds 2.1 has bugs, anyways, try Hybrid! i didnt try it but was following the discussions and its not buggy!
I didnt have any problem with nandroid backup, may be problem with your cwm! try another cwm and ensure that you have atleast 500 Mb (worst case) free space on SD card
