I tried Dolphin mode desktop & mobile & other
I tried Chrome
I tried Firefox
I tried the default browser
...
Why when I try to download a small file from my "Owncloud 4.0.7" it doesn't work...
Other websites too, got the same problem and somes difficulties to show flash gallery...
Pad like Transformer are enough powerful to support load of heavy websites.
So the problem come from the app to load correctly websites.
There is a solution ?
Best regards
Bankaiii
Hi,
I use Chrome, Firefox and the stock ICS browser and in general i find browsing on the TF101 to be quite good. I am using Stock ICS.
Apart from ownCloud.org, do you have any other examples of websites you have trouble browsing from the transformer? I can test these out on mine.
To me it seem, that you can't download files from some sites, like sharehosters etc., because they prevent you from using a download manager. When you start a download on your device the download app kick in an is falsely detected as some kind of download manager.
Asolutely not.
I manage my own connection Internet
tell me if you can load the game : www.thesettlersonline.com
But Owncloud that I setup work perfectly on PC but not on my Pad
( Im still use Stock Rom )
I just tried thesettlers and it work with latest firefox nightly. played it for a minute but have no clue how to scroll...
google for firefox nightly android

when i try to download a file from f.ex megaupload i only get a html file ...
i tried the astro solution but nothing.. anyone has solved this?
I regularly download things from websites. Alot of files from emu sites and they lead to megaupload.
They work fine for me.
Ive tried it with alot of browsers, stock, opera, opera mini, boats, dolphin.
Cant see any reason why downloading a file would give you the html page instead of the file.
What browser do you use?
i use the one that comes in xperia play...
i have just tried to download a file from fileserve and got .html again
Try getting Opera Mobile from the market place (its free) and try with that.
I personally do not like the stock browser. I find it slow, sluggish and jerky.
My set up is Opera Mobile for Wi-Fi and Opera Mini for 3g connection.
You will not find a faster browser than Opera Mini, it compresses data up to 90% on a seperate server before the data comes to your phone. Excellent for speed and if you are on a data plan to save MB usage.
The only downside for Opera Mini is it doesnt support flash. (which is why i use Opera Mobile too). Bookmarks can be synched automatically between both browsers.
Anyway, try another browser and see if downloading works.
ok i´ll try
thank you
On the built-in internet "browser" application, when I go to an online auction website in New Zealand called "trademe" (www.trademe.co.nz), the page partially loads and then freezes.
Can anyone tell what the issue and/or if there's a fix for it? thanks
also once I load the trademe page the whole browser application freezes as well I have to close it through task manager for it to funtion properly again. I also tried every other web pages and they seem to load fine. Its the trademe website that freezes.
You should try setting plugins to 'Always On' and see if it works. If you can load any other webpages without any issue, its not a browser issue. I have used the build you are running myself, and the browser has not crashed on me once. If you still cant load that webpage, you should try loading it in Skyfire or Firefox. If that doesnt work, maybe that webpage just cannot be loaded on a mobile device.
I can not install apps in this rom... Don't know why.
Even I have clicked the unknown source in application
Anyone can help me. thanks a lot.
Which browser is your favorite for your rooted kindle fire and which seems the fastest? Thx
I haven't tried Dolphin but seem to be flipping back and forth between silk and opera. Had some issues with opera loading sites properly (i.e. my google apps mail account?) but the thing I like most about opera is the dynamic resizing of content to fit the screen - makes browsing a dream - no horizontal scrolling required! Silk doesn't do this. Use opera on my other computers also so am able to sync all my bookmarks which is nice. Now only wish they supported LastPass for my passwords.
I haven't noticed any appreciable speed difference between the 2 browsers.
I use Opera Mobile most of the time. I have not tried Dolphin in a long time and never on my Fire.
tried them all
I've tried most browsers and I prefer dolphin, it seems to be the quickest and some nice little extras.
I'm rooted and running CM7.. very smooth with not many issues..
I have to use all 3 depending on the website

Another vote for Dolphin. Maxthon second or Firefox with alot of the add-ons...
My personal preference is dolphin. I use it on all my android devices.
I'd use dolphin if there was a way to keep the tabs on the top
i like dolphin
Support the open web, use Firefox! Besides, you'll be surprised at how fast it is, and since it uses the same codebase as the desktop version there is little difference between the desktpp and mobile web. And having access to all your bookmarks through sync, and the awesome screen really puts all the other browsers to shame. Really the only competition Firefox has is Chrome and the stock Android browser, except Google has a vested interest in not allowing ad-blocking plugins, so I find I spend more time waiting for Chrome to load a page than Firefox because the ads are slowing it down.

I use the Firefox Beta because of adblock and sync. (I use Aurora on my desktop but I found the Android version a bit too buggy for my tastes...Nightly as well)
Honestly, I've tried every Android browser that I could find and they all kinda suck even with the user agent set to desktop.
It's happened to me many times - I would stumble on a website and some lists are not scrollable (either on my tablet nor my phone). Even changing the browser agent to 'desktop' mode doesn't help. As a result, I would need to go to a Windows PC and browse the site without error.
Which is at fault?
- The site not optimising their site for Android tablets/phones
- The browser (I tried Dolphin HD and the stock browser and both can't handle the dropdown lists)
- The Android touch driver

I have issues with the same browsers but my main issues are certain websites not going back to previous page when you press back it just reloads the same page again which is annoying. Plus drop down boxes do not always respond.
My best guess, since it's only an issue on some sites, is bad web design. It could be some html or java code which isn't really standards compliant or perhaps there is some scripting there designed to do something dodgy like tracking scripts and such. I'm not a web designer though so I could be talking out my ass.

Have you used Opera. I find it to be very capable.
