Hi,
I have searched high and low and am yet to find a definitive answer about how to get it to work.
People saw that you can use Handcent & also GO SMS to do group messaging but I am yet to be able to get it to work, is there a step by step guide by someone who is actually able to get the Grouped SMS to work. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and an iPhone 4S and I have stopped using the S3 until I can get it to work as it does on the iPhone.
I apologise if my searching was not exhaustive!
Thanks
Matt
Threaded SMS is already enabled by default.
You want group messaging.
Go into GoSMS settings and make sure you have Group Messaging options turned on. There are options in the Advanced menu under the Send and Receive settings.

I am at work and the phone is at home but I am pretty sure it was already turned on. Are you able to send Group Messages on yours? Are there any other settings I need to have turned on or off?

Wondered if anyone knows how to permanently enable SMS reports in the threaded messaging interface? I have enabled it through the usual messaging options and this makes it permanent when sending a new SMS but not when replying through the threaded interface!
Any ideas?
It's a well-known bug here. You can't change this issue.
Hi
Go to one of your favourites in the Touch Flo tab.
Then go to the SMS tab
Click Menu
Message Option
Request delivery notification

There will be a surprise after closing and reopening the contacts tab : The checked option is unchecked.

And this what we call a bug.
Well that's a heck of a bug !
Is there a reg hack to switch it on and stay on (I'd think not or someone would have noted it here).
Any of the cooked roms fix it then ?
Translated from my swedish TD2:
SMS tab

Menu

Alternatives
SMS / MMS
Tick the box for delivery notification

Im a physician and need to use my EVo to be paged by SMS, can someoen recomend a setting or hack to ensure when message is recieved, I get notified every X mins till I acknowledge, this way I dont miss any messages
I like handcent SMS. It can do all sorts of stuff including reminders.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Handcent does not have the option
I beg to differ docsboard... It has many different reminder settings. I had the same need and it does extremely well. Try it and dig into the settings.
handcent does have the options for reminders.. can't tell ya where exactly it is in the settings, but it's there.
Handcent does have reminders. Open Handcent, on the main screen hit menu and open Settings > Notification Settings > Notification Settings and scroll down to Reminders.
Also try Tasker. Great app. Tasker > State > Received SMS > Sender >
Can set alerts, like flash led, vibrate, notify, etc. Can use it to call a number (home phone, pager?) play a sound, or anything else you can think of.
It's free on their home page, I recommend buying it from the market if you use it.
The good doctor must not have time to check his thread or thank people for their help, even when he overlooked Handcent altogether. Or he's just rude. Maybe he needs to get an e-mail reminder (assuming thread replies send him an email).
Kidding, kidding.

OK guys, this one has been bugging me for a while now so i am asking for help. Im looking for a way to keep sms private on my phone. Currently I am using the privacy box in handcent sms (which is great for the most part) except for the fact that the notification system in the privacy box doesnt exactly work in my favor. If you turn notifications on and you recieve a notification it pops up the prompt for you to enter your password to the privacy box ( i can hear her saying "so why do you have a privacy box huh???) the other options for notifications are either for trackball light up or led notifications (which were obviously lacking). I just turn notifications off however theres obviously no way to know when youve recieved a reply.
So im sure someone out there has the same issue and im wondering how you guys work around it. any input helps thanks
just lock the phone with password....
use go sms pro. multiple privacy and notification options. and it's free.
Peronally I use Call Blocker app by NQ mobile, It has a lot of functionality including a private space which is password locked, and contains the SMS and call logs from the people you hae added to that list.
Personally, I dont use handcent or go sms' privacy option, i dont know why lol
however, i use app protector / other apps which locks multiple apps, to lock my personal stuffs like gmail, whatsapp
also i use GO SMS and enable the "privacy notification" mode so it only appears a logo at the top and tell you "new message" but without any information about the message. no sender, no content
i recommend you use my method too! hope i helped and happy messaging

Use Application Protection https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ruimaninfo.approtect&feature=search_result
All my MMS group messages become individual SMS so if I begin a group message, it gets sent to everyone individually instead of one group message. It's fairly annoying and I tried 2 different Roms with stock kernal and the same thing happened. Is there some solution or something I'm missing?
Look arround your provider APN settings, i think your APN is generic and some settings are miss
All the settings look appropriate for t-mobile it appear
The defualt OP texting app doesnt have mms functionality. Just install a 3rd party app to send mms like textra or android messages.
Switch to Textra App. Download it. And make sure to go to Textra Settings ->Group Messaging -> Chat. Works perfectly.
So I have ATT advanced messaging turned on. The problem is that if I use an app besides smart switch to backup sms messages, it only captures received messages. Apparently it's some restriction with Advanced Messaging.
Does anyone know of a way to view smart switch backed up sms messages? I have a friend that lost our conversation, and I was trying to provide a copy but nothing seems to work. Thanks!
