Not sure if you've had a chance to check out the Galaxy Note 2 release video by Samsung but there are some awesome new features. Do you think we would be getting the easy bar multitasking ported to our gs3?

I am sure the Gnote 2 has a thread for it!! I honestly don't think they are going to give us all the features of the Gnote 2 to keep it seperated from our devices

Getting new phone today. Which is better in terms of moddability? Which has the more developed roms running and would be more worth my time?

Definitely the the Galaxy Nexus. Without a doubt.

Nexus all the way, but I'd wait for the nexus 4 if i were you.

Multi users on Nexus 4

I would love to see multi user on the nexus 4..I think it wouldn't be hard since it's already in 4.2... think it would make sense for doing different setups like different launcher, icon packs, theme etc..I wonder if it's just a line or lines of code to turn it on and/ or is any body up for the challenge!!?

Multi-user support is only available on tablets. Nokia has a patent on multi-user support on phones.
I am sure a build.prop edit can fix it.

That is more for switching ROMs ...not having different setups (launcher, icon packs etc)

Well its only for tablets, I think the reason for that being tablets are more family and sharing, whereas phones are a personal device. Why would you want to share your phone?

I don't see anything in build.prop specifically disabling multi-user mode. Looks like I was wrong.

Did you go into the settings under users? On my nex 7 it is there in the top right.. Add user.. very easy to miss.

Ah I see. I didn't know that. I thought it was a 4.2 thing.. You are right though. I have no need for it on my phone.

Bored, trolling or no way to imagine use cases when multi-users may be handy?
If I want to show something to a client on my Nexus 4 (or any other device) without providing access to my apps and data?
or
If I'm willing to give it to my 3-4 years offspring for a video or a game, without risking my contacts, notes, mails?

This is the only reason I would need it, but it is a good one. If my 5 year old wants to watch a movie or play a game I wouldn't have to worry about her screwing up my home screen or deleting apps like she has been known to do.

I believe Paranoid to be the answer. That's if you don't mind rooting.

Yes I have tried that ROM and tested multi user..and its exactly what I want just not the ROM I run daily (AOKP)

Trying to convince my wife to trade her iPhone 3 to a Nexus 4 and thought the similar style may help but nothing to show for it..? Any other recommendations in MiUI absence?

I agree but on a serious note is the nexus 4 the same across all carriers ? Or there is variants ??
