Hi everybody, I'm an italian user and this is my first thread.
I'm a complete dumb, I rooted my Defy+ and customized it to CM 7.2 following some guides.
It took me quite a long time but eventually everything was working, until I noticed that I couldn't download any app from the market (i could connect and browse in the market but the download bar was stuck to "downloading" mode). After several attemps I was so pissed off that i erased all the data and cache from recovery mode, together with any zip i had in the SD card.
The problem now is that it's stuck on the red M, and if i boot it on android bootmenu there's nothing i can do but wipe data and cache. I tried to flash the SBF but i cannot bcs the PC doesn't detect the USB connector. I'm afraid it's so screwed that the USB port is not working. In addition the battery is not charging.
What can i do?
As you can see i'm totally a noob, so i'd be glad if you can use simple terms.
Hope you can help me!
Thanks in advance,
Atride

If you can access bootmenu, (connect it to PC first) then go into Tools and select Share SD card or Share storage (forgot the name, but you'll find it). Then you can copy whatever you need

Read this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
read the whole thing. It will answer all your questions.
Sounds like you need RSD Lite and Motorola drivers.
Boot into Bootloader mode, flash a stock SBF appropriate to your phone.
Moved to Q&A. Please ask all questions there, thanks.

Thanks for your help, but i'm still stuck.
That's the problem: in order to do anything i need to flash SBF's, but even though i have the proper RDS Lite and drivers the laptop doesn't detect the mobile. I cannot root, i cannot install custom recovery, i cannot do anything. I only have access to the stock recovery, which allowes me to wipe data and cache and to apply updates from sdcard. So, what now? I read the guide All-in-one, but, i repeat, i cannot flash anything. Is there a way to root/install custom recovery from a .zip file that i can load in the sdcard via a microsd adapter?
use this.
100% work.

Thank you, but as i wrote above i cannot flash bcs RDS Lite doesn't detect my Defy. Maybe there is another way to do it?
if RDS Lite doesn't detect ur Defy
1.ur battery is so low------> use mcgayver trick or use external charger.
2.u dont have motorola driver on ur pc. remove and instal again.
3. change usb cable.
dont worry and just try.

when your phone is no longer in a state where it can charge your flat battery, you physically connect 2 wires to the battery directly and charge it through external power source. i personally don't like this method. what i did was i bought something like this on ebay, since you're in india:
http://www.ebay.in/itm/2X-Brand-150...?pt=IN_Mobile_Accessories&hash=item3f230b35cb
it's cheap and you get 2 spare batteries and an external/usb two-in-one charger. you can charge your battery externally without the phone, as well as it doubles as an usb charger to your phone.

Hello, while I was testing 2.3.5 witch was great except that the mobile network was not woorking at all. So I decided that I needed too downgrade. And when I was browsing the phone I accidentally found this way.
This has not been proofed by anyone else I think.
Disclaimer: I do not take the resposibility for your device.
1. Put the dload on the root of SD-card (I used 138sp4)
2. Then go to storage in preferences. Head too the bottom then choose "upgrade SD-card". The phone blacked out, started up and installed 2.2
3. The phone boots up in recovery because of many errors. I choose wipe data/chache and wipe chache and reboot.
4. The phone rebooted and I am back to 2.2.2 from 2.3.5.
This method keeps the start-boot-picture (does not know if the other sulutions keeps it).
Sorry for my bad grammar on some of the words. I just wrote them down and did not have the time to fix them.
Hmmm...interesting....maybe I should try 2.3.5 even if I have the Atmel screen. :/

I have atmel screen but I like it because i wear gloves and the screen is so sensitive that it responds thrugh them.
I was forced to downgrade from 3.2.5 to 2.2.2 for the exacly same reason and i tryied that same way you did and i couldnt do it, i got a message saying something like "there are no upgrade firmware inside the SD card". So i used the root & replace boot and recovery files to downgrade what was a sucess. Got the same issues as you with the boot but the "wipe data/chache" from recovery resolved it.

The decision to distort the battery. Insert, connect the USB to the phone (on the other end connected to a computer), press and hold keys + - food, and wait a few seconds, as soon as you see a red flashing light, unplug the data cable, you can start sewn.

Hi
I got Nexus S that currently is bricked for a couple of month now :-(....
the phone is I9020T (US phone).
I have a recovery image "recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-crespo.img"
But i cannot access the SDCARD whats so ever ..... to put the ROM, i also tried with ODIN in the past ( now i dont rememer...) and it fail as well it seems that when trying to flash the system it got stuck.
The current status of the phone is:
1.It can be boot into boootloader.
2.it can be boot into fastboot.
3.It can be boot into download mode.
But thats it... , when i try to power it regular it just stop in the blackscreen with Google name on it and the lock at the down and stop there.
What can i do ?
Thanks in advance.
Assuming you can get adb to work you should be able to flash the image to the phone straight from a pc. However that's the most help I can offer as I rarely use adb.
Actually just found this guide: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Nexus_S:_Full_Update_Guide
Read it and modify to your needs, NOTE the part "Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery Image" as I think you could follow that but use your stock image instead.

Try to lock and unlock your boot loader via adb. Maybe try flashing original stock rom. The nexus s is hard to brick. I thought I bricked mine but turned out to be a hardware issue that was fixed by Samsung under my warranty.

He means to reboot into bootloader (not recovery), then lock the bootloader with "fastboot oem lock", then re-unlock it with "fastboot oem unlock".
There's sticky threads all over the boards with stock roms, radios, and bootloaders.
Sounds like a bad flash storage. It happens often on these phones. Nothing you can do but to send it to Samsung for warranty. They'll do it free of charge.
Unless you're missing something simple...
I tried Samsung without luck....

Personally, I'd try reflashing the recovery as a first step. re-download it from cwm just in case of some weird corruption or something, grab the latest one and double or triple check whether you get the right one for your phone
Flash it, using fastboot, straight from the PC to the phone. Try the recovery again, see if that helps. If you still can't mount anything then, you've definitely got a hardware problem :/
If it does mount, use adb to push over a fresh ROM or a stock ROM and flash it after a full wipe (/system, /data, /cache, /boot and a factory reset)..
Good luck!
Been there try that ...

When my phone did this I was able to mount it after a few battery pulls. So try doing the procedure to mount USB storage and if it fails pull the battery again. I'd say give it about 100 tries. If it doesn't work it most likely will never mount. However if at one point it will, load and flash a rom. The only problem you will face is again after rebooting you'll have to keep trying to the same way to get pass the Google logo.
I know it sounds strange but this was my situation and that's how I got by until they replaced the unit for me.

Foolishly what I had done to make space to carry some data on my nexus 7, I deleted my backups. Today I downloaded a new rom over wifi and charged right into fullwipe and re-flash new rom forgetting what I had done few nights ago. Think it was a bad download or something because it will not flash.
Which leaves me in CWM after the fullwipe. But I cannot mount sd/card on to computer. So it appears I have no way in putting another rom onto the sd/card. Hoping someone can tell me how to push one from the command line or something/anything would be much appreciated. Cheers in advance.
Just use the toolbox in the AndroidDev section, as long as you boot into the bootloader, you'll be fine, happened to me as well, just install a factory ROM and the Tab should be up and running in no time

Hello guys! first of all sorry for my English!...well i messed up my u8800-51 and i cant get it to work, i´ve read most of related posts, but nothing work, so i'll try to explay what happened, i hope u understand my issue and help me...
Ok i had a 2.3.5 GB non-official installed, from androidmovida.. my phone was working just fine, but due to all the apps and media it was kind of slowing down, so i restored it to factory settings... when i did this, my phone started up normal, and it was almost perfect again, but i realized that even without any app installed i had 800mb of the ROM occupied, leaving me less than 200mb, this was just wrong, the ammount of memory used just after a factory reset should be around 350mb... so i installed cwm 5.0.2.7 and booted it to recovery mode, here i pressed;
wipe data/factory reset
wipe dalvik cache
and what i think that screwed my phone..i went to mount and storage and pressed format /system...
Since then my phone didnt start, but i was able to get into the recovery mode... so i downoaded the stock 2.2 froyo from huawei
(this page is in spanish cuz the phone is sold in Venezuela).
i formated my SD card, and put the dload folder in its root and the update process started, but failed...
now i cant even get to the recovery mode, ive tride the process to install the fw a million times and it keeps failling..
and i just can get to the updating process or to the pink screen..if i connect my phone and leave it connected it shows up the logo and turn off, and repeat over and over..
my guess is that somehow i cant install the rom because the memory is almost full, but i have no idea of how to clear it!
if any of u guys can help me i would appriciate it a lot!!!
again sorry for my English and for the long post, but i wanted to be specific so you dont waste time telling me to do things ive already done! thank you!!!!

You need a micro sd reader and hook it up to a computer than copy the stock gb over and delete the old froyo. You should've asked.
I've read this may work, but android movida was closed down.
Try this.

Good morning.
So I'm running KitKat on my Nexus 4 and everything was fine until I decided to install TouchControl to avoid using the power button that much. I'm not an expertise over kernel's so I followed the prompted instructions and I ended up flashing the stock kernel I guess.
So after that my phoned rebooted, and since then I can not connect to Wifi, it only says connecting. I don't have CWM on my phone because I have a problem connecting my phone to my computer since it got wet some weeks ago so now it only charges but I can not transfer any files into my phone.
I restored my phone to factory settings and nothing.
I know this will be tricky but I also know you guys can help me, I know the main issue will be the fact that I can not transfer files over USB.
Please your help you will be of so much help.
Thanks in advance

Does ADB work?
If the phone is rooted, grab Flashify off the Play Store and install CWM or TWRP from there.
Have a custom/stock kernel zip to flash on your sdcard.

Did it say that 3G didn't work?
Problem fixed
So at the end I figure that the problem was caused by the Touch Control App, I did not put the required attention to the prompted instructions and the kernel was flashed.
So, using my phone's BT I transferred the files to install CWM and then I flashed it with the stock ROM.
That's the way I recovered the WiFi Capability.
Thanks for your advice guys.
Cheers.
