Hey all,
I wnated to let everyone know that almaqdad has perfected a mod that allows flawless gsm calling from P-7500
Check out the thread on the Android Developer Forum (GTab 10.1) or follow this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875024
Some pointers:
1. Make sure that you are rooted. I dont know if this would affect the mod, but my tab was rooted when i did this
2. Make sure that you have a custom recovery CWM or TWRP
3. Make a full backup. Save a copy of the backup on ur PC. Use titanium or other software to back up ur apps
4. Copy the appropriate files on the rooot folder of ur tab.
5. Format the cache and Dalvik Cache.
6. Flash both the .zip files and boot into android
7. Voila! Your tab is now a 10.1 inch phone as well!
Issues that i faced:
The first time i flashed the files, it simply refused to work. My simcard wasn't detected. I has applied a couple of patches that might have
Been interfearing with the mod, so I used odin to reflash my rom. I then flashed CWM followed by rooting the rom.
Next install currupted the market. I think this was because I was so excited about trying out this mod and there were a couple of active
Downloads running and I rebooted the tab, took a backup and formatted cache and dalvik cache. Then applied the mod. This currupted the market,
It would finish the download then crash as it was trying to install the app. I think this was because it resumed the downloads from wgere it left off
Without chcecking the file integrity
I then did a factory reset, flashed tge mods and everything now works flawlessly. Even the gsm calls are flawless and I've made calls that lasted a good hour at a time.
Be Sure to Reboot the tab a couple of times if your calls drop for no reason after a couple of mins. Calls are best if you are uding a headset. The mike on the tab is very good, although your voice may sound a bit different on the other end of the line. Enjoy!
**Update**
Voice calling works best with a headset plugged in, I'm using an ordinary headphone. Otherwise, the calls disconnect after roughly 40s-1min. I'm not allowed to post on the Dev forum. In case the Mod Dev is unaware of this, I would appreciate if someone would post this bug on his post.
I don't know if this bug is rectified with the use of a BT headset.
No bugs for me with Toldo's rom

I'm looking to upgrade my phone to a custom ROM, but I'm not sure which one is the best for my needs. This is what I am looking for:
Fyro Update
Increased Phone Speed
Increased Battery Support
Adblock for browser and apps
Also, how do I flash my ROM? I have the drivers to connect my phone to my computer, and that's about as far as I got. Secondly, will I lose my apps and their data? I already have my contacts and SMS backed up.
Thanks guys
jt
As a shameless plug - I whole-heartedly recommend SyndicateROM. It'll fulfill three of your four features already (including ad blocking in apps and the browser), and when the OFFICIAL, FINAL (ACS prides itself on stability and feature-completeness) Froyo release is out, it will be updated right away!
That's actually the one I was looking at. Is there instructions on how to flash your ROM? Will I lose my apps and their data?
After rooting you'll need Clockwork Recovery mod(CWM). Look for a Dev who has created a root with a CWM install (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770388).
1. Follow steps to root and install CWM.
2. Download a ROM and put it on your SDcard (Start with ones that have been around for a while and have been tested quite a bit. Avoid Froyo ones till you feel comfortable with CWM and Odin {if you ever use it}).
3. Reboot into CWM, BACKUP everything (this is key for your data to come back), wipe x3 (including cache)
4. Install ROM from SDcard(reboot, may take a few minutes to load for the first time)
5. Reboot into CWM, and advance restore (DATA only). reboot
6. Enjoy with all your data.
Hope this helps
Epic Experience + Phoenix is the best battery life I've had on any ROM.
Performance feels like stock, which is to say, this phone is really fast just as is and I don't think its screaming for better performance out of the box. Its not like it feels sluggish like the Evo does.
All these devs do great work! You can't go wrong with any of these roms. This belongs in the General Discussions section!

camera button, down volume and power on.
I suggest you try them all and figure out what you like or don't like. Also try out the ODIN program so when you accidentally bork your phone you will know how to fix it right away.
Got it. I assume this is backing up to my SD card. Do I not wipe my SD card?
Thanks, this should be the last question!

The only way you will wipe your SD card is if you partition it for A2SD support. The factory reset wipes all your data and might be a good idea if you are going from one rom/kernel to another. CWM backs up to your SD card. I have about 6 backups and can restore several different roms if I want. If you try all the roms out and make backups of all them it will be easy to go back to what you want.
A program called ROM Manager will make it easy to rename your backups.
Hi,
I post here because i am a new registered user and do not have the right to post in the appropriate section (dev i think).
If a moderator want to move this tread, i agree, as i am always able to follow this post and make reply or update it
This post is not to ask help (and not in the future i hope) but to help devs to identify the problem and solve it...
- I was on LC1 stock GB rom rooted using Chainfire'SU(thanks to him for his work), with a 1% battery mod, nothing else as extra or tunning.
- To upgrade to the official LPY Stock Germany (downloaded with checkfus pc version) rom with the CF root kernel of Chainfire, i use my usal method: flash with mobile odin pro, enable everoot and inject mobile odin and wipe dalvik cache during flash process.
- At the first launch all apps were optimized by ICS before give me access to my phone.
After this sep, i applied under CWM this script:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473622
I has for effect to redo an installation optimization, as at the first ICS Launch.
All went fine and no problem at this step, just a few boot loop on the first start, the time to apply the SU Chainfire's update zip by CWM and install/re-update the stericsson busybox pro v1.20.0.
After this, no problem to tell you, just sometimes a lag screen when i want to clear somes notifications in the status bar aera (make vanish a few time the statut bar).
The Chainfire's 3D mod do not work with this rom, it is a know problem but it's just to say that the installation by CWM went fine too, as the SU app.
I resume: Install update package, wipe dalvik and battery stats (data not tested), fix permissions under CWM, and make nandroid backup give no problems to me...
The problem occur when i wanted to restore a nandroid ICS backup, the writing process fail at the system state...
I was unable to use my phone, blocked to the withe samsung logo (not the boot animation), juste able to acces to download and CWM modes.
So i put my phone in download mode and inject the same LCY STOCK firmware with pc odin 1.87, nothing else, just wait the end of the flash process and pray...
I restored my phone and my acces, to restore root i used this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647148
I kept this method to re-inject Chainfire's SU after a second boot
At this step, i have the same configuration as with GB, without loss any data, except SU settings, adaway host files, just miss CWM manager 3.15 and mobile odin pro 2.35 (this one restored with Titanium Backup pro) as sytems apps.
A bootloop appear at this step, i used a new time the cleaning script to redo an initialization of ICS.
Reinstall with the first method to root the phone the chainfire's kernel (i think it is better for Chainfire's SU) and keeping in mind to not use the recovery writing backups function (proved as source of problem)
Reboot in CWM and wipe cache, dalvik cache, battery stats, fix permissions,
An error appeared in CWM, see log joined here. (this not the log from the failed restored operation before, afraid to redo the attempt)
Seems to be sucesfull, boot-loop killed.
At this step, i just need to re-define my lock-screen and the police (certainly due to the wipes i did)
My phone seems to be good at a new time.
My personal diagnostic is that is not a bug with the rom but with CWM wich is certainly not compatible.
The version in this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647148 seems to be most recent, maybe someone can test the nandroid restore function with this one... It should work but i know, it is easy to tell this...
If i have some news elements, i go back here to tell you.
I hope help devs and others with this post.
Sincerly.
If you read this thread more carefully you'll see that there is a warning!! so please do not test it!!
Update :
Due to rising numbers of phone being bricked based on rumors and stuff, I strongly suggest NOT trying to use any nandroid backup or restore on this CWM and it is best we keep CWM out of our devices to do major I/O stuff. So far I have never seen anyone bricked their devices on this small rooting/unrooting process but JUST DO NOT MAKE BACKUPS OR RESTORES!
See this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26037402&postcount=61
Welcome to the forum.
I completely agree with you.
There is problem with CWM recovery not stock recovery.
We still need expert opinion here though.
Btw you posted this in the correct section, this does not belong to the development section.

Hello Master_Unit, seems CWM recovery is the culprit in all the cases.
I'm sorry to contradict you but stock recovery with rooted phone has the same potential danger as clockwork recovery. There is a minimal risk on operations with the recovery in special circumstances.Lpy firmware is safe but play with the recovery on ICS and Note should be done carefully
Trying to go back to Gingerbread
Had ICS via CW for a few days now, very unstable and a lot of my programs are having issues with this version of ICS.
How do I go back to gingerbread?
I also believe its a recovery issue on both stock and cwr. Maybe root is allowing access to some command it shouldn't or one thing not spoken about is radios ? Could there be a radio mismatch ? That would explain why only a small amount of people are effected. Whatever the case I consider myself lucky to wipe on lpy and live to tell the story. Let's hope there's a answer soon.

I reflashed it wiping out both caches in Mobile Odin. Ran a lot smoother but the battery would discharge 10% every 15-20 minutes. I just did a factory reset to see if this would resolve the issue.
I wanted to use Nova launcher, and although it looks amazing and feels really smooth, the snote widget doesn't work properly which is a deal breaker for me since I like to write quick post it notes on each of my home screens that are specific to each of my businesses. Not sure if they have a work around on this.
After searching for a fair while i've come to the conclusion that there aren't any threads that pose my set of issues. I've tried installing AllianceRom several times, i follow their instructions to the letter, and everytime i end up with a failed extraction, i've re-downloaded the ROM twice now and am simply unsure of how to continue, i would LOVE to see their rom in action and how it functions i'm just at a loss for how to continue, steps i take with safestrap as such.
1. Reboot into recovery
2. switch to rom-slot 1 (also tried the other numbers.. just in case)
3. create the slot, wipe it
4. install zip file ( tried from different folders, on both internal and sd storage)
5. facepalm i'm not sure what to do now i'm slightly sad because it's the seemingly coolest looking rom, there's so much customization options to it.. i just want it hopefully someone out there has an answer, and if not i'll let the subject die for now, thanks for your time to anyone whom reads this.

Have you tried flashing to stock slot yet? rom slots have many known bugs as of now and most ROM devs recommend flashing to stock slot and avoiding rom slots.

I have not, all honesty i'm super new to the entire process and thus far I haven't done that because i still use my stock rom on occasion flipping back and forth between the two and I'm primarily terrified of bricking my phone. What process would i go through to get my stock rom backed up and assuredly not going to be screwed out of it not existing before i tried flashing to the stock slot? I know i sound paranoid because i really am especially after it not working =/
Possibly figured it out
If i'm correct, i now know the issue. the file site dropped some people's network connections, and i'm guessing since my file size was only ~650 mb that was my issue, if not i'll inform you otherwise i'll be deleting the thread, thank you mr. hyde

1. Reboot to safestrap
2. Activate stock slot
3. backup -> data and system should be checked only
4. Wipe data/factory reset option
5. Install -> romfile.zip
6. Reboot.
If you want to be safer, after step 3 backup, reboot back to your system and copy the backup folder from external sd/ TWRP/######/backup folder. This way you'll have a backup on your computer in case something breaks. The nice thing is, safestrap is safe and won't (shouldn't..) brick your phone.
EDIT: just saw your recent post. yes, the alliance rom zip file should be 1gb or greater.

Well, it worked (go figure i feel like a dumbass), however after all of it i realized looking at oyur name that you seemed familiar for some reason. The first ROM i flashed, was yours. Thanks for that, it's very well made.
Hello!
So the last couple of weeks I have not been able to hear the other part in phone when making outgoing calls from my device. I have not had any problems at all receiving calls. This fix is not only for Oneplus One, but can be applied to any phone with root access and a custom recovery. Other problems I have found when browsing through internet is;
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-5728 - Cyanogenmod
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=82949 - Nexus 4
... and a bunch of other forums threads.
This problem happened to me when I was using #mirrorenabler. Although this is an awesome application something unfortunately went wrong for me. You can see at the bottom of the first post under the header "For those with audio issues after applying the Force-Close Fix:" that this can be a problem caused by #mirrorenabler. However, this was the case for me, people with similar issues should try these methods and report back.
So I got two ways of fixing this.
METHOD #1
1. Download Root explorer.
2. Go into /System/etc/ and open audio_policy.conf and replace everything with this new audio_policy.conf. THIS AUDIO_POLICY IS ONLY TESTED WITH ONEPLUS ONE. IF YOU ARE USING ANOTHER DEVICE YOU HAVE TO FIND SOMEONE WITH A WORKING DEVICE DUMPING THEIR AUDIO_POLICY FOR YOU. I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
3. Save, close and reboot device.
Voila. It should work. However if it doesn't, here is another way I was trying;
METHOD #2
1. Backup apps with titanium backup.
2. Backup your SMS
3. Download your ROM u're using again.
3. Reboot into recovery
4. Make a nandroid backup
-- THESE STEPS BELOW IS IMPORTANT --
5. Wipe factory data/reset
6. Wipe cache
7. Go into mounts and storage
8. Format /system
9. Format /data
10. Format /cache
11. Enter advanced
12. Wipe dalvik
9. Flash ROM then gapps
10. Reboot and let the ROM settle.
Method #2 is more likely to work. However, I thought it was worth posting both method as the first method might work for some. Please note that just wiping factory data is not going to work because it doesn't remove the system and data files.
Method #3 | UPDATE
After a while, my earpiece sound disappeared again. Then I started googling and found out that this can also be a problem due to the phone thinks you have earphones plugged in. Luckily there's an app Soundabout that I found that can force the sound through the earpiece. If you have this problem, take a look at Soundabout. After I downloaded it and set the phone call audio to earpiece and connecatable devices -> wired headset settings -> Wired headset detection to OFF, everything works like a charm. Never had the problem since.
If this helped you. Please give me a thanks. Hope this helped someone out there! :fingers-crossed:

As I said in the first post this might be the correct methods to fix problems for nexus 4 and other similar problems for Oneplus One. It is worth a shot.
If you have problem with the Earpiece not working, please check the lated method (#3) that I have posted in the first post. This solved the issue permanently for me.
Thank you so much buddy.

Thank you for posting this rom. Had trouble finding it since it wasnt on the development page. Ive gone through about 7 roms and none were 100% working and I had a lot of trouble finding a way to get back to stock 21s for my X522. All the custom roms Ive tried either have a broken camera, missing cell broadcast, or hangouts wouldnt work on it when trying to make a call or use video chat. This is the only stable working rom Ive came across so far.

I'm assuming if I remove root the font will be back to normal? On some applications the font is way too big. (I assume due to the Instructions given)

Answer is yes.
Well, if anyone is willing to help. I removed SuperSU and tried to replace it with magisk but I can't because my internal storage isn't showing up and it ask for a password to decrypt.

Try format data to remove encryption.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I know there is an issue with zoom being forced on when the phone is rooted. However my phone is randomly switching back and forth between zoom and normal by itself and it's most obvious in both chrome and Gmail where the text being a different size when I open it up. I've tried the build prop fix but it's still switching between both modes.

Wasn't able to flash anything. Kept getting errors and eventually couldn't see any of my stuff again. It's all good though.
