Lenovo Ideapad k1 Random consistent Freezing Issue - Thinkpad Tablet General

I got this ideapad k1 from ebay with honeycomb 3.1 installed. It worked perfectly for first two days but after that it started to freeze consistently for no reason. Every single time it freezes and thing is when it freezes it does not terminate all actions like if i am running a video on youtube than it will simply does not respond to touch command but it does not terminate video.
I have tried to root it and installed official ICS 4.0.3 version but still problem persist. Also i tried to install cm9 but it goes into boot loop so i reverted back to official version.
Please any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had the same issues when I was on stock honeycomb. Ive switched to khanning88 AOSP ICS rom and its been working great!

Weird Wi-Fi issue on Telus HTC Desire HD

Hey Everyone,
My wife has a DHD with Telus since February and I have no problem with many ROM updates and radio flash.
She is running Revolution 6.1.1 on 12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19_M for the last 2-3 weeks.
I own a LG P500 and flashed over 100times since February for sure.
I just bought a used DHD from a friend who was on stock Telus 2.3
I flash Revo 6.1.1 too with latest radio on my new/used DHD.
It was working fine for couple of hours until the wi-fi starts to "enable/disable/enable/disable..."
I tried to flash different ROM (DeSense, GB_Sense) and my problem is almost always the same after few hours the Wi-Fi doesn't work anymore (keeps trying to enable).
CM7 has different issue. Everything is ok for few hours then after a reboot it keeps saying SIM card undetected restart phone in a loop after every bootup into android.
Now I am on GB_Sense since 7h00am and after a reboot and again I lost the wi-fi.
[gsm.version.ril-impl]: [HTC-RIL 2.2.0179HM (Aug 17 2011,15:24:58)]
[gsm.version.baseband]: [12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M]
The 3G is working perfectly.
Anyone has an idea on why my wi-fi is getting that crazy as soon I reboot 1 time whatever the ROM is?
Any hint on how to fix that please?
Thanks
John
New ROM - Same issue
I just wipe everything and reinstalled Revolution 6.1.1
Worked perfectly until I reboot the phone again...
WiFi is trying to set ON, disconnecting, trying to set ON, disconnecting...
My problem is that I even can't disable the wifi completely so it keeps re-enabling and battery draining !
Same problem with Revolution 6.1.1, switched to a different ROM the virtuous latest and every thing worked fine.
I tried going to back to Revolution and same problem showed up again, so stopped using it. I think its very slow and buggy ROM.
Thanks.
I'm downloading it, will try in about 1hour and will let you know later.
I have to say that Virtuous Rom is fixing my issue!
Rebooted few times and so far wifi is perfectly connecting!
Thank you for the reference!

yeh when i used android revo 6.1.1 it started trying to access locations, kept waking it from sleep, i tried wiping and reflashing to no avail. did exactly what zombie did and tried out virtuous unity, zero problems since. well pleased with V.U. definately a keeper(for a week or so anyway )

Everything on home screens disappear only wallpaper on screen

Hello im have a problem where all my apps, shortcuts and UI randomly disappear or my screen and the only thing left is my wallpaper. The only way i resolve it is to go to settings/apps/launcher and force close it. It restarts but its just a temp fix cause randomly it happens again. I have tried Multiple Flexreaper,Thor, and Cm9 roms Multiple bootloaders and Kernals but it always comes back. I ALWAYS do a full wipe (by wiping everything even data) but after a while it comes back. Anyone know how to fix it or Any info would be great thanks
I can't help with a fix, but I can confirm that you are not the only one with this issue. I have three Acer tabs, One that's stock ICS A500 no root, one A500 with V3 bootloader and Flexreaper, and one stock rooted ICS with the V8 bootloader. All three do this same thing. The only way that I can get rid of the issue is to downgrade to the Honeycomb bootloader. If it was any more annoying I would go back to the Honeycomb bootloader and pretend to be a chicken while enjoying my nice solid user experience. I'm not sure how Acer bugged it up on this one. But as far as I can tell, it is an Acer ICS bootloader problem that carries over even if the bootloader is patched.
I've been trying to find a solution. So far, other than changing back to HCBL, nothing has worked. It's too bad that one of the Dev's can't see a tablet with this issue. Those guys can fix about anything...
Thak you for the info. Its good to know Im not the only one who has this problem. Do you think CM10 will fix it since its Jellybean?
I never experienced that issue...until I moved to Jelly Bean. It happened all the time on the first alpha port, but the latest cm10 is OK. I hasn't happen since. What launcher are you using?
I've tried a ton of launchers and it happens on them all. Also, it happens less frequently if I don't have a email widget on a home screen.
I'v also tried alot of launchers and they all do the same. Thanks for the email widget tip
Has there been any new developments on this issue and how to fix it?
I'm on hc bootloader and never have that problem. I am fully capable of flashing ICS bootloader, but have no interest in doing so. I see no clear advantage and hear nothing but problems. I'm running the newest TO Jelly Bean and it is practically flawless. Call me a chicken if you like, but I'm a happy chicken with a sweet tablet

It happens to me all the time with all the launchers I 've tried. I am in unlocked ics bootloader and stock rom. The same happened with the locked bootloader. I tried the CM10 Rom same results. I removed all widgets from the homescreen with no luck.
If it's in the ICS Bootloader then all must have the same problem or not?
Any solution except going back to 3.2?
To fix it I had to go full stock to Honey Comb then reinstall CWM then install Thor cm v15 and no problems since. I think the problem is the ICS bootloader

[Q] A500 stability issues

Since rooting my a500, it has been generally unstable, I've had apps force closing, games locking up the tablet, and occasionally the rom will just reboot. I've done a cache and dalvik cache wipe, as well as a full data reset before flashing the new rom (currently randomblame's jellytime with the godmachine kernel v2.0) the kernel on this is more stable than when I was trying to use the stock rooted ics 1.41 update, but I've just had nothing but problems since rooting. I know that some of this could be the relative newness of the ROM itself, but the stock rom was worse...any suggestions?
Bootloader: 0.03.14 MUL Skrilax_CZ's bootloader V8
Recovery: CWM-v5.5.0 (thor2002ro/digetx rev1.7.3)
ROM: Randomblame Jellytime - the return
KERNEL: godmachine v2.0

I've been using WIP Jelly Bean from here for the past two days. I had one restart of the tablet and occasional crashes in the Gmail app. The unlock graphic sometimes disappears from the screen (apparently a memory leak, restarting the tablet once a day should work as a temporary fix), but it can still be unlocked. Otherwise it's been very stable and fast (overclocked at 1.2GHz). I am using the kernel that came with the ROM. That's my recommendation.
Flah Civato's Re-Flexx ROM ;] don't get anymore stable than that!

Or if i really like jb on ur a500 try civatos jb's rom, the SuperCharger, pretty stable, im using it right now, also one thing that somehow make my tab unstable is the SetCPU app somehow, so i got rid of that no need anyways since u can change those settings within the rom itself.

CM 10.1 random reboots and freezes

Little background - been running cm7 for a long time. Flashed the alpha/beta builds when cm10 work started. The alpha worked well, but as the betas progressed and then the nightlies came, the constant freezing and random rebooting basically made the nook unusable. A sd card install experienced the same issues. Since no one else seemed to be experiencing these issues, I just went back to çm7 and have used that since.
Flash forward to today, thought I'd give a stable 10.1.2 a try. Same issues, if it doesn't reboot or freeze on the cm boot screen then it will do it in the setup screen. Wiped data/cache of course. Anyone experienced these issues or have any ideas on a solution? It'd be nice to experience some jellybean goodness. Thanks.

Only thing I could add is that when I flash a new rom, I boot up into that rom before I go back into TWRP and flash gapps. I have never had the issues you describe. I see you are coming from CM7. That takes a Factory Reset along with a wipe of Cache and Dalvik Cache.

Did the last suggestion help? I added it later so you might have missed it but I'm sure you not performing a Factory Reset when flashing is the root of your problem.

[Q] Ideapad K1 First Root

My son in law just gave me his K1. He got a new Google Nexus. I have successfully rooted my Verizon SGS3 by reading the threads here on XDA and I am happy with that. Now here's my problem. The K1 is a WiFi version running stock 3.2.1. I want to root and load a custom ROM. My main use for this K1 will be streaming video from Wifi to HDTV using HDMI , streaming audio from Wifi to Bluetooth speakers, and using Google video chat over Wifi. After reading through Khanning, Krook1, and Kaschemme threads I am not quite sure where I should start. I would like to use the latest from Kaschemme but I sure not sure if it would be best for uses. Thanks much in advance for any input/guidance.
12/16/2013
I've decided to go ahead and nvflash cm10.1 wifi kaschemme, then flash his latest 10.1.3 release, and finish by flashing gapps jb 20130424 nonneon. Does this sound right?? I hope so. I wish I could get this post moved to Kaschemme's thread. I am a noob and could not start it there. Thanks again to XDADevs for being here. It is a great resource.
12/17/2013
Change of plan!! I am noob so after more reading and digesting I see that the CM ROM's may have problems with both Bluetooth and WiFi. Therefore I am going to start with the latest khanning K1_JB_AOSP nflash and work my way from there. Wish me luck. I hope to pull the trigger today or tomorrow.

CM 10, both Krooks and Kashemme had working Bluetooth and HDMI. That ended with CM 10.1. I WOULD RECCOMMEND kACSHEEMES cm10 you can use his NV flash to run the root and install the recovery. Don't use the non neon gapps with CM 10, you can use the Rootzwiki GAPPS. The other reason to use the Kaschemme is that he is still kind of around.

I have already flashed Khanning's latest JB AOSP. Can I now simply put Kacshemme's CWM cm10 zip on my extcd and flash it over Khanning's.Should I back up app my apps with TB and restore or can I just flash w/o a wipe. I have also made an android back up of what I got to my extcd. Thanks again for the help.
Sorry I reread both Krook and Kaschemme and I see I do have to go the nFlash route again. No problem. I am curious though. If I use TB to back up all my apps to my extcd can I just then restore them once I get TB reinstalled?
Got it to quote you - "That is not common, i have been running it since September on 4 different k1 tablets an there are no issues. Are you doing a clean flash? Are you using the Neon GAPPS in the OP? I also reflash gapps every time i do an update."
K1 nFlashed K1-WIFI_CM10_JB_07052013
Jerry/anyone,
I nflashed Kaschemme's CM10 in title to replace khanning K1_JB_AOSP and flashed signed gapps-jb-20122111. I really like the ROM but I have a major problem and some general questions. I now have CWM v6.0.2.8 w/ android 4.1.2 and kernel version 2.6.39.4. My major problem is that I have no audio feed with the HDMI. The video is good no audio!!! It worked with JB_AOSP! This is no good I use the K1 to stream NetFlex to HDTV. The audio comes across the K1 speakers, ear buds but no HDMI. Any thoughts help???? Do I need to go back?? Also I thought this ROM provided the option to overclock to 1.4. I can't find this option. Max I can pick is 1.0?? Any and all help is needed and appreciated. Thanks to all and Merry Christmas.
Flashed Kaschemme CM 10.1.3 w/ CWM
OK I decided I can live w/o BT so.........................I used CWM to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache , flashed CM10.1.3 zip booted up and let things settle down. I rebooted into recovery and flashed the nonneon gapps. Rebooted and logged into my google account. Downloaded TiBU and batch reinstalled missing apps. All went very well and I am happy. I only needed to download a couple apps from the play store. I OC set at min 456 max 1400 and using interactive governor. I have good WiFi, good HDMI, good head phone and video streaming to HDTV. I see my CWM was also updated. So far this is a great performing ROM. Thanks to all and especially Kaschemme for his hard work. Merry Christmas to all. BTW I got 10,501 AnTuTu. Good enough for this ole retired guy
Requesting for ROMs and Drivers for K1

Hope you can help me send all your things (ROMs and drivers) for K1 and I will try to revive my device. Cheers! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I see that you came 1st from unrooted HC. Did you get your K1 rooted first before installing Khanning's & Kaschemme's ROMs? I am still on STOCK HC and I can't remember how to root the K1, of course I want to flash CM10.1.x but I got no root yet. Thanks

I came from stock. Just follow the directions on kaschemm's thread. You can get the download from here http://goo.im/devs/kaschemme. You need to download the nvFlash to your pc and run it from there to get root and cwm recovery. If I if remember right the nonneon gapps link is in the thread and you flash that from recovery. Hope this helps. Good luck.
