I was looking for a browser that did a good job with flash video now that I'm on twa's latest jellybean build and Google is abandoning flash with jellybean (TURDS!). Of course you need Flashplayer plugin installed and you can't download it from the Play Store (so get it somewhere else). Stock browser works ok (gets a little unstable). Tried Maxthon, Dolphin, Opera, Chrome, Firefox, Skyfire, and Boat Browser. Boat Browser works flawlessly (except status bar toggle leaves a video shadow). It is a nice fullscreen enabled browser. Fullscreen and stability was what I was primarily looking for. Flash worked on some other browsers I tried but fullscreen either caused freezing, system instability, or didn't work at all. Give it a try. Hope it works well for you. Gotta love your kindle's big screen. Say no to browsers that rob screen space.

Thanks for this. I also noticed that flash player was buggy on the stock browser on JB. Dolphin was slightly better. I'll try your suggestion

So I was just wondering if anybody knew of good web browsers that had Flash support?
I've been using Skyfire and I'm loving how fast pages load and the homepage customization, just wondering if there were other browsers to pick from.
opera 10 beta has flash that works on some sites and a browser called uzard web
theirs really nothing out there better than skyfire in terms of flash having flash opera it just slows down your phone and crashes the browser in my case. Im not too in with skyfire but to watch videos it does the job. I really hate the fact adobe dropped the flash 10.1 for windows mobile it was already half done.
I tried Flash on Opera 9.7, but the results were awful - scrolling was impossible, and the lag... terrible.
On the other hand I quite like the Flash in IE. You can actually play some flash games with very little crashing - Dicewars .
Ever since the 3.1 update I cannot get the browser to stay in desktop mode. This happens with stock browser or Dolphin. Prior to the update Dolphin worked perfectly in desktop with ESPN, NY Times, BBC, etc. Frustrating. Any ideas or is this just something to live with?
had this working on 4.1.1 fine. updated to 4.1.2 and now after countless combos of firefox and flash player versions, playing flash crashes the firefox browser. AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH! can anyone help??
Did you try AOSP browser? I am using CM 10 4.1.2 rom and latest flash is working flawlessly on both Firefox and AOSP browser.
Which Firefox and Adobe version are you using?

works fine with marathon browser, but i use ff
You can try to sideload older version of flash and see if you face same issue.
And are you using Firefox Beta or just Firefox? Firefox beta seems to work better on android.
But my recommendation would be to use AOSP Browser, its the best browser for android imo better than firefox.

ya... ive tried about 5 earlier versions..all fail. can you go to youtube.com and play videos with firefox??
Yes I use Youtube app though its very good. If I try playing any video on youtube in firefox beta it opens it in the youtube app itself.

right!! but if in firefox if you request a "desktop version of site" then try to play the video in the browser....it crashes. can you try a test of doing that way for me ?? thanks
I tried using the desktop site the full screen worked fine. Only thing I noticed is the buttons like play, resume, full screen appeared blurred , not good. But full screen played fine, no crashes.
I have played videos on other web sites and they also play fine on full screen.
Why you are not using youtube app for watching videos?

not "fullscreen" in firefox in the options you check "request desktop site" after you load www.youtube.com, then try to play a video
I understood what you said before and I did check request desktop site too works fine for me.

Thanks!! I gave up..... flashed CM10 Kang 4.1.2................ now everything works fine!
Just as a question, did you use firefox beta or the normal firefox? On 4.1.1 I had to use firefox beta to make flash work fine, but on 4.1.2 firefox beta flash did only work in NOT Fullscreen mode and trying to use fullscreen made flash crash. Funny thing is, on 4.1.1 the same happened to the normal Firefox. But now on 4.1.2 I use the normal Firefox browser (nfot the beta) and the latest flash version from the archives and it works very goood, also in fullscreen mode no crashes. Hope I could help some people looking into this topic.
I haven't found an apk for flash that works yet. Has anyone else or for dolphin version 8.x or higher or the AOSP browser?
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
There are all versions for 4.0 at that link, I don't use AOSP or dolphin on my Note 3 but .81 the newest works fine with Firefox on mine

Nope. With the latest flash version (11.1.115.81), in desktop mode, the stock browser doesn't play videos at all for me either. In mobile browser mode, youtube videos will play, but not directly in the browser. An external player takes over ( with no option to choose).
Same scenario, but with Dolphin Mini, videos play directly in the browser each time.
Using Hulu, the stock browser and Dolphin Mini both play video clips within the browser window while in mobile mode. It seems to be a made for mobile browsing kind of video player. As soon as switch to desktop mode, both fail to play any videos. The stock browser complains that Adobe flash player isn't installed, while Dolphin Mini receives a system not supported message.
As far as flash content goes (games, ads, banners, etc), the stock browser isn't having any of it (mobile or desktop). It just won't display it.
Dolphin Mini handles banners and advertisements pretty well in both modes. I was also able to get this game to load beyond the play button screen quite a few times, but it crashed right after tapping start on every attempt.
I don't really know what the best methods are to test flash, but from what I'm seeing, we may be SOL for the time being.
Have you guys checked out the latest version of Maxthon browser?
I HATED this browser when i tried it years ago, but they totally re-wrote it and its pretty amazing!
plays flash beautifully as well,

Tried firefox, dolphin, and chrome. Chrome was the only one where I could do searches but it has tons of functionality ripped out ie no tabs and I still haven't figured out how to go back.
Uninstalling is the same as any android device. Go into settings > apps > find chrome > uninstall.
I found a 11.3.0 version of the Dolphin browser with Leanback support here: https://plus.google.com/communities/103510820500984874818/s/dolphin?partnerid=gplp0 Namely, the file named mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser-2.apk in one of the posts. The file installs fine in my rooted Nexus Player and an icon for the Dolphin browsers shows up on the Leanback launcher see pict. The program starts, but the browser is only able to load a couple sites, namely cnn.com and just a couple others see pict. When I try to go to other sites like google.com or facebook.com all I get is a blank page see pict. After entering the URL the Dolphin progress bar moves quickly to the right, but then slows down to a crawl and slowly continues to the right, but never loads the site. The Internet connection is fine, I can load all sites using Chrome browser without a problem, but I'm use to working with Dolphin on Android. Chrome on the Nexus Player does not allow tabs, but Dolphin does. Anyone else testing this Dolphin Leanback browser on their Nexus Player with different results?... I understand that this version appears to be modified specifically for the ADT-1, but given that it loads cnn.com, I can't understand why it won't load other sites.
Has anyone found a newer version of Dolphin with Leanback support?
Btw, to work with this browser you'll need a mouse and keyboard. I'm using a K400r keyboard with a trackpad. The Nexus Player remote does not work. If after the installation you get stuck on ads screens the first time you run it (flipping to a black screen)... click and hold the mouse button and swipe to the left to navigate to the Welcome (Start) screen.
FYI - The problem I was having with Dolphin 1.3.0 with Leanback on my Nexus Player was being caused by the Dolphin Jetpack. I disabled the Jetpack and the problem loading pages went away. I guess I lost the functions provided by the Jetpack (e.g. flash support), but at least I can load pages now.
I hope Google or some third party is working on a web browser that can be used with just the NP remote, Having to "always" go for the keyboard to navigate the web is not convenient. For the small amount of web browsing that I do using the TV bookmarks, up/down - left/right navigation plus access the on-screen keyboard to enter URLs and to fill a couple forms should be enough.
I also have a Logitech Revue (GTV) that came with a neutered version of Chrome. I believe copyright laws were the main reasons why Google did not developed the GTV Chrome browser further. With a couple of hacks it's barely able to play flash videos. Streaming content directly to the big screen has always been something that content owners are reluctant to allow without a fee.
