Galaxy Nexus is based on AOSP...wouldnt regard it as the same comparison...IMO, the leaks are pretty good, much better than ICS thats for sure...

It's different for every person, some found LH series fluid and some are finding LI series better, both series have different bugs though. I would still recommend going for latest leaks like LI3 or LI4.

Keeps getting better with every leak

All you're asking is that one (or more) of us produce a small novel after you post a couple of questions. There's too much information requested.
Surely you have to start somewhere right? Read and understand how to root your Note by dr.ketan. It's a sticky on the dev forum

Upgraded from sgs2 int to gnote also. It's a bit slower than sgs2 but it has so much more pros against it's few cons. If you can get past it's size you'll love it.

Thnx a lot man...is it considerably slower than s2?? I thought it would be faster or atleast same as sgs2...as it has a better cpu....

The processor has to power through 2.5x the screen resolution of the S2, but my understanding is that ICS helps with any Note sluggishness.
I just returned my ATT Note and should have an International on the doorstep tomorrow. I'm pumped to toy with it.
From what I understand the Note's ICS leak is atrocious compared to the ones for the GS2. However even a buggy ICS leak is better than the antiquated Gingerbread. I couldn't get the Touchwiz ICS roms to work (home button not responsive, no lockscreen) but had great success with AOKP builds.

Not considerably but s2 is snappier, not a deal breaker

Great choice mate. Don't worry, the phone is very fast - especially with AOSP stock ROM, cause let's be straight here - TouchWiz is not the best...some people might like the looks or featurer ( i dont ) but it's very sluggish when compared to stock.
About the phone ? If you're looking for multimedia smartphone/tablet - you couldn't have chosen a better one. Enormous, and quality screen, fast CPU, lots of RAM and storage - and great battery life. You'll be definitely happy with your new phone.
And take a look at Imilka's ASOP ICS ROM - it really makes the Note amazing.

What about 4.0.4?

Does anybody have any opinion that when will we get an official update to 4.0.4 from 4.0.3?

And what an excellent 4.0.3 it really is. Sprinkled with some bricks, too, but one
can't have everything.
I couldn't understand why people think I am not satisfied. A few of my friends are using nexus s and they had solved lots of problems after they upgraded their phones from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4

yes because that phone was the first to be shipped with ics, so that is basically the bleeding edge for ics
I don't mind a 403 without the bugs atm battery(wakelocks) sucks, touchscreen sometimes hangs, apps not working well do OS bugs, Lockscreen bug hangs alot processes/apps, more importantly LPY bricks issues, don't think it is 100% lpy problem but still want my mind not to it all the time, want to wipe phone and can't.

Nexus S he said, not the Galaxy Nexus.
Official 4.0.4 change log:
Stability improvements.
Better camera performance.
Smoother screen rotation.
Improved phone number recognition.
Sound a like a worthy upgrade to me.
But I'm on CM9 so I've it already.

Well my sgs2 got 4.0.3, 2 months ago, and still no upgrade to 4.0.4. So won't be quick for note either. I love the way they release something totally new and it's need upgrades for bug fixes straight away. How hard it is for these massive companies to get it right first time!

Umm, not to burst your bubble guys but you do realize that there already is a thread about the 4.0.4 stock rom? There isn't a need for more threads
Ooooh, a link to a blog which appears to rip off other blogs by copying their content word for word, linking to another blog, which links to sammobile? Awesome. Thanks for making a new thread to spam that crap. We needed more 4.0.4 threads anyway.
just recieved a firmware update , it still say's version 4.0.3
What was your previous version?

i really hope with this update they fixed those bugs... my s2 had many problems and so my friends galaxy s2 s since the ics update .. gingerbread is still the best rom in my opinion
whats all the buzz about 4.04, its not like its a special upgrade, its still ics....
Im more interested in JB, come on guys, are we going to get it?????
I really hope so, personally i dont like ics and im still running LA4 GB, since day 1 of pretty much flashing my phone, it works for mw, ics doesnt.
So if anyone has any goss on JB, would be cool, i know the s3 and hox and note will get it, but, will we..

With JB, try waiting another 6 months.
You do not need the ROM released in your regions to install. Most of them are fine, unless you want languages specific to your region.

Same here, but with one exception. When I mount SD Card to PC I'm loosing widget on home screen (Beautiful Widget) and also my keyborad changes from SwiftKey3 to Android Keyboard.
Beside of these issue Rom is working perfectly.
What about elite's jellybean port?

you just have to read the posts about each Rom then make your choice.

Personally I'd go for Derteufel's build of CM10 with /datadata V8. Note that JB is no way a mature development though, you will experience bugs at such an early stage. Go back to ICS if stability is your priority.
Haha
I think the CM10 by pawitp is the best
but as ballsofsteel said, its only an alpha version.
so you will get bugs everywhere
I´m satisfied with the cm10 build, because the functions I need are working (sms, data :victory
but if you want to have the "whole" experience, try cm9
kind regards

4.3 vs 4.4

hi guys,
i've had my N10 for less than 1 week and need some advise
in terms of fluidity and smothness you people think that 4.3 is better or worst than 4.4 at this date of course ?? let me known
i'm running custom 4.4 at the moment but i think it could be smoother, never had a chance to try 4.3 so far
thanks
