connect htc sync, press RootTattoo, then recovery tatttoo
Do you mean to say this is an application which roots the phone directly without me having to do anything ??? cz if so, i m a bit skeptical coz i have read things can go wrong in such cases.
waiting for more help plz
Hi harsh
u have to reinstall custom recovery
u can choose amon_ra. or clockwork 3.0.0.5/6/7
there is backup option
You should use CWM 3.0.0.5 for CM7, this is special for CM7 in Kalimo's thread:

(Q) Galaxy Y Bootlooping

Hi bro my friend had a problem with his galaxy y.
His sgy bootlooped after he installed a custom rom on it. Then he asked me to fix it. I tried many solution but no one works for his sgy.
1. Wipe data, wipe cache, fix permission etc. via untemporary cwm (v.5xx) and then reflash it. No effect, still bootlooping.
2. Flash custom rom via android stock recovery (someone said untemporary cwm is not for flashing rom so he recommen to flash it via stock rom) no effect, still bootlooping.
3. Flash via odin. No detected even usb driver installed. Tried on windows 7 ultimate & windows 8 pro. Still bootlooping (He don't think his usb debugging is on)
4. Flash flashable zip stock rom via cwm/android stock recovery. I haven't tried this one.
Any suggestion? Thanks!

1 - what rom are you trying - cm roms require percys kernel and stock based roms require a stock based kernel
2 - did you mount system data cache after you wipe system data and cache before flashing a rom? (main cause of people not flashing a rom properly)
3 - did you install samsung drivers only and not have kies installed/running to use odin
you can flash a rom via any cwm tempory or perminant as long as the cwm is suitable for galaxy y - you format system data and cache and you mount system data and cache before you flash anything

ANTHR-A rom

i flashed ANTHR-A rom in my sgy
it worked fine but the keyboard is not working when i restarted it goes stuck to the sgy logo i tried to flash the rom again but it doesnt work
HELP!!!!!!!!
helps if you put what rom you are using and kernel
wipe data in cwm and restart
for keyboard uninstall it and reinstall it with system app installer - the libs were probably not placed in the lib folder
link
i installed it there:http://www.mediafire.com/download/elh7jr3ji43b945/ROM-GTS5360-SIGNED.zip
kernel was stock
Solution
You have to use some stable custom kernels when you are flashing another ROM to avoid bootloops.
I seriously never heard of that ROM before.
You can use the Hyperion 8 ROM which is more stable custom ROM.
If you flashed that ANTHR-A for the themes, I cannot help you. There are more themed ROMs and maybe better than your current ROM.
You can always flash the themes.
There are lots of keyboards available. You can download one from your computer and install it on your phone.
If not search google for a keyboard, download the apk and then install it on your phone and also don't forget to enable it
Press thanks if I have helped you

How do you delete an entire ROM by mistake? Just flash it again through recovery if you're on a custom ROM, or use fastboot to flash stock.
