Orange Led Blink on USB PC Charge

Hi all.
I've bought a XDA IIi the XDA shows an orange/red blinking light when charging it trought a USB Cable to PC. According to the manual, it should be an amber solid led when charging it. The only solid led I've seen is a green one on the charger.
I'm available to sync trought ActiveSync, but XDA shows an orange/red blinking light and one post talking about that blinking orange led was caused by a low-power charging, but i use USB Cable to PC.
I always use USB to PC cable and charge my XDA phone.
I have exactly the same problem, any solutions?
Me too, same problem but additional headache no charge via usb nor wall charger. It also blinks on original wall charger also, set off charging also. its frustrating ARRRRGH.
Need solution badly
mine too
mine does it too but only once in awhile and if i soft reset my phone it goes back to charging like i listen to music and its charging and then suddenly the stupid orange light blinks and doesnt charge my phone and its annoying?
anyone have a solution?
The problem might be a near-dead or malfunctioning battery. Using a USB cable to charge does not fully charge a near-dead battery, and sometimes if the battery has completely discharged, the cable will not charge it.
Another solution...
I'm having the same problem... When i plug the usb connector the amber LED turn's on and hold. After some time the LED start to blink. When the led is blinking the battery doesn't charge.
There are some "software based" solution, or a debuging tool???
The orange led is normal that's how it is when it is in charging mode but the blinkink led is becouse of the conection with the phone and the USB try to move the USB in the phone plug it might work cuz it workd for me.
I hope i help'd u guys
What kind of move? Do you think that the problem is a bad electric contact? I guess not... I pluged and unpluged several times...
Well it workd for me becouse if i plug the usb cable to the end it has no connection that's way i move the cable back and forth untill i get the connection.
Blinking amber
I have the same problem on my htc p3300, and when i used batti 2.4 i saw that the battery temperature is 432675.5 etc something fake temerature. This is the reason, why my pda unable to charge my battery. If you set your pda in bootloader mode, it will charge your battery!. After 3 or more times i charged it in bootloader mode somethimes the battery temp sensor works normally, and the charge is working as well. Sometimes not.
Bat you can charge your battery allways in bootloader mode.
Sorry for my English.
Try it!
Good luck!

HD2 Died - Power Problem

Thats right.. last night i left my Leo charging, today when i woke up i noticed that the battery level was very low so.. i unplugged it and plugged it again, noticed that the orange led wasnt lighting up, neither was the phone charging.
The phone gets very very very hot when plugged to charger or USB port on my computer and does not charge at all.
Tried it all, left it all day long with the battery out of the phone, tried charging without it in.. and nothing..it just gets very hot where the connectors (pins) make contact with the battery.
Now im trying to charge the battery on a cradle to flash it with stock rom and SPL to get it to warranty..
Any of you guys has any thoughts?
I see i posted in the wrong section.
Thank u mod
Do you always charge via usb into pc? Is your cradle plugged into the wall or pc? I don't know if you have done this, probably so, but check in windows settings->system->Power and inside the battery tab see if the "When phone is on, do not charge the battery when connected to a PC" is checked.

Yeah.. it crossed my mind to check for it, and that option is unchecked.
Though the charging "orange" led doesnt turn on even if the phone is off.
I usually charge it via usb->pc, allthough i tested with the wall charger and nothing.
I suspect it must have been a power surge that burnt in some way the PBC of the "charging module..thing"
Thanks for the suggestion
i'd check that none of the pins for the battery are in contact with each other if there is heat in that area.
Ok, I'm assuming then that the phone works, but just has low battery at the moment. If that's the case then it doesn't appear to be the battery or the leads. Any chance it's the cable? That of course assumes your using the same one with the cradle. I ask because my device didn't come with a wall charger, just a usb cable so I had to get a few extra plus a wall plug-in with a usb port.

Weird, but unfortunately it didn't. I think being in the US and getting the device from Telstra in Australia may be why I didn't. Well, if it is a hardware problem and you can't get it to charge from the device, I believe you can get a cradle that will allow you to charge the battery independant of the phone. I know it's not the best option on the planet, but it would get your battery where it needs to be to flash and confirm whether or not it's a charging issue with the battery itself.
Come to think of it, this did happen to me several weeks ago. I plugged the phone in before bed as usual and noticed the charging light didn't go on and the battery drained overnight from about 60% to 15%, which it shouldn't have done. Not in standby at least. Soft-reset the next day fixed it. It hasn't done it since. I was installing a bunch of things that evening, which may have been what did it.
I had a same problem with my hd2 and by some miracle and few days of pain

Hd2 not getting charged!!!! Pls help me

Hi Folks,
My HTC HD2 Android not getting charged either by a wall charger or usb via my pc... i dont what happened suddenly it got turned off due to low battery and when i pluged it for chrging its not showing orange LED notification of charging. when its off and plugged in Orange LED blinked once and Phone got switched on. And when its connected to PC for abt 3 mins it will show charging and after that it shows discharging and battery drains when it shows it discharging . pls help me out coz i dont want to loose my Leo .
Thanx in advance,,,,
Check the pins at the phone which connects to the battery. Sometimes they are deformed and this cause the charging/not charging problem.
But... in this case I don't think this is the problem, because this problem should not affect direct charging from usb cable.
Anyway check them just for sure!
Thanks VDodi

Best way is not to let it run out
However, normally it will have enough charge left once it dies to boot up far enough to start charging. If this is not the case, then you have to cut open a USB cable and use the red and black wires to charge the battery. I have not had to do this and am unsure as to how to do it but there are tutorials. It seems simple enough.

Consider, as was previously suggested, a cable connection issue.
While you do not currently have the luxury of looking at your status icons, I have found that, on occasion, when I plugged in the phone to charge, the status icon indicated a USB connection, rather than a charging icon. Unplugging the cable and re-inserting the cable fixed it.
Note that new high quality cables can exhibit the same issue.
You have nothing to lose... Give it a shot.
Good luck.

Take out battery, plug chopped up USB cable into wall charger, use fingers to hold red to + black to -, count to twenty, battery in phone, phone into bootloader, real charger cable into phone and wall charger, leave 10 mins, reboot into android. (Can charge all the way in bootloader, but it seems slower than when android is running.)

By 'tutorials on how to do this' I basically meant your posts
As previously said if you're using magldr you need to be booted into Android before the phone will charge. You can try to warm the battery up in your hands to squeeze the last bit of power out of it to boot up. Or there are standalone hd2 battery charges you can buy from eBay that charge your battery outside of the phone, they're pretty cheap.

As Samuel said you can charge phone in bootloader. Just try!
Had to buy external charger
item # M00366 this charger was cheap has led's that change from red to blue as the battery charges and has a usb port so you can charge a battery in phone at the same time.
I'd been alternating tween an extended battery and the original when my HD2 started discharging while plugged in. same batteries and nearly a year of typhoon's excellent ROM progression then wham dead batteries....

[Q] need help - razr m doesn't turn on - have searched google

Hello All,
I've had my razr m for a bit now, unlocked bootloader, and was running a CM 10.1 release on it for a while. I wiped it, and installed CM 10.2 nightly (10-2 build i think) - i knew i had to potential to blow up my phone. Was using the for almost 2 weeks, then I went back to my parents house and had my phone hooked up to i guess what was a cheap china wall wart with the microusb cable already built in. it got kind of hot then turned off, i unplugged my phone from the wall and put it on the floor in the garage. i tried to turn it on a couple hours later, no dice. now when i hook it up to anything (only using legit chargers and a PC that can be sacrificed) the led just stays on green, but the phone doesn't even turn on...
any advice?
tl;dr
i hooked my phone up to a cheap china wall wart after upgrading the rom and using the rom for 2 weeks.
now the phone doesn't turn on.
thanks
IMO it sounds like the battery or the charging circuit is fried... normally when the led stays on and green its telling you that the battery is completely dead and will remain that way until the charge level reaches 4-5% then it will boot to the charging screen... I would plug it into a Motorola wall charger for a half hour to an hour if after that time the phone still won't power on I'd pick get a factory cable/adaptor if that brought it to fast boot I'd flash stock and attempt to charge again...if it wouldn't charge i would find a battery somewhere...

i don't have a factory cable, but i do have an extra battery...
i am trying the battery now.... if that doesnt work any thing else?
i've made a factory cable, do i need to have the battery connect when using this cable?

I always have... I'm sure you don't need to have it connected as it bypasses it...

so i noticed that the LED only stays on green for like 5 to 10 minutes then turns off.
i have a second battery that when its connected the LED on the phone doesn't even turn on.
Hmmm.... can you get into fast boot mode with the factory cable you made?I'm guessing you found the walk through on how to make them did you make it correct solder points solid and getting +5v off pin 4...when plunged in (to charger) do you get a response from holding volume down and power....

nope, doesn't even seem to turn on.... i have a 100% new battery on the way, i am going to try to replace it, there is a chance the other battery i had hanging out was bad. I also am making a new factory cable using the microB plug from sparkFun. as a note i might have my friend make a new case for the phone for me that has a removable back.

so i got all the goodies in and hooked up the factory cable to my phone, no love from windows (ie doesn't detect the phone)
any ideas?
i know the cable is good, i have another phone that i have check it with.
i also have a board from my old xt907 (which i broke by throwing), and when i connect the factory cable to it, windows seems to think its there.
so the board for the phone that was hooked to the cheap china charger i think is 100% dead... when i hook it up to my machine with the factory cable nothing shows up.
the other board that i have has some qualcomm usb serial port show up....
any ideas on what i can try for the dead board to try to bring it to life? there is still some data i want of the damned thing....

Nexus 4 Dead Battery?

My battery was dead so i wanted to charge it.
But i can't get it to charge anymore and show the charge logo or anything on the display.
I tried normal power button
power button + up or down control key
I had it plugged in now for 5 hours...
Any ideas what it could be?
Sure it ain't your charger? Did you try using different chargers?
Try turning the phone off, then plugging in different chargers while it's off to see if the charging display pops up.

The problem is, i don't have the original charger anymore.
Today i tried with the htc charger and a normal usb-cable with iphone adapter.
Both didn't work.
I additionally tried charging on computer (usb) or direct power source.
I will try another charger.

If you have access to a wireless charger, try that. If i remember correctly, it activates a different charging circuit that can help revive a phone when plugging it in won't.
I unfortunately don't have a wireless-Charger
Yesterday i tried with the Nexus 5 Charger. Didn't work either.
The smartphone doesn't even get warmer. So I think it does nothing...
Maybe try to clear the usb port better?
Habe a lookat the USB port, i Gad the case once, that one oft the 4 contacts oft the port peeled off and wasnt able to connect anything. I was able to put it back in its Position using some time and steady Hands and a microscope
Second, for some people it helps to completely disconnect and reconnect the battery.

try wireless charging if u can lay your hands on it
if no other option mentioned above works, then try to dissemble your phone using various guides available(@ur own risk)
n try to see manually if your battery is showing a voltage change while charging..
hit thanks if this helps u
Update
Wireless Charging isn't a solution for me.
But!
The Phone did some weird things yesterday.
I plugged it in for several hours.
After one hour, the notification led blinked red a couple of times, then the screen came up with the symbol that it is charging.
Then it went black again.
Unfotunately nothing more possible.
The back was getting warm, so i think the battery was definitely charging.
Any ideas?
