Haha you don't know how difficult it is not to flame you right now.
1. There is no best ROM. It's a matter of opinion. What's the best colour? Exactly.
2. Yes, there are tutorials, but I'm not going to give them to you. Find them yourself. If you aren't completely incompetent you'll find a link right in front of your eyes. If not, then you probably shouldn't be flashing anything.
3. Please watch this video before doing anything else.

Grats on being a tool.
I am using panosha's think rom ( 6.0 ) and i am loving it man, i might as well try 6.1 in couple of days but for the time being think rom suits me .
I'm using bepe 0.54 (without TomTom) cos its windows 6.1. It seems faster than standard and stable... Give it a go!
Stable = Panosha's Light & Butterfly Edition.
Faster = Bepe's 5.4 Special Edition Full.(Really Rocks)

Have you seen the number of pages for each? Also, how many of those posts are about little user problems? I personally found this thread useful as it COMPARES each release to one another. I really hate it when someone replies to a post with the typical troll comments like "search" or "have you not read the (500 pg) post?" If you don't have something helpful for a poster, just don't write anything at all.

reading all the post is not better that a full direct recommendation from the users, thats the way that i asked for, it helps too another users to filter unneeded information as i've found on the ROM's threads. Also we can chart the quality and usability of all the ROM posted up to now. Anyway THX for the answer. Don't forget we're in a Forum, Q&A.

The best release I have tried is the xdandroid 2.2

To be fair though, there hasn't been a properly stable release yet on the touch hd yet but the developers are working on it!

Just because some of us are not on the forums all the time doesn't mean we ask totally stupid questions. Just because you can search doesn't mean it finds the relevant information.

That may be true, but you have to take into account that your first post was a bit of a "drive-by shooting" kind of thing.
The developers here aren't unfriendly, but years of people posting "Hey what's the best X thanks" will make most people a bit weary.
In other words, there is a lot of information here but the best way to get help is to ask with a bit of knowledge beforehand. For example:
"I have a Touch HD and want to run android. I know about HaRET and how to install an android build on my SD-card, but am unsure which build to use. I've seen build X, Y and Z and am wondering whether someone has tried any or even better all of them, and could tell me which one seems the most stable.
I'm thinking of trying X, but if Y is a lot better I'd prefer to get that on my first try."
Also, you can't find "the best most stable ROM" using search because, well, that's up to a lot of different factors.
Often, the only way to make sure is by trying a lot of them yourself and see what works best for you.
Finding what works for you takes time and effort.
If you can show that you're willing to spend both, people here will be nothing but helpful. And I'm not saying you're not willing, I'm just saying that maybe that wasn't very clear from your first post. Know what I mean?
Good luck with setting up Android on your HD.

the developers here has been a great help and made my diamond and HD awesome! You should pay attention to what Polar Bear writes in the previous post. 2.2 Xdandroid is almost reliable I'm waiting for a new release, but keep in mind the long wait for X10 users...

Wow..... good answer : )
Hi everyone, this is my issue I want to use the android but to tell you the truth I don't know which one to use, there are so many and each one I have read about have some sort of issue. I think if the chefs focus on working together to better one build of Android instead of recreate a new build for every little feature we all would be happy. After that is achieved the chefs can focus on working towards what they desire in their own cooked up version. I would be willing to pay a little something for all the hard work and i'm sure a lot of other users would to. It's just my stupid input but I think it would be a lot more time saving and use full than having to install 5 different cooked up roms to find out what build works the best.
By the way can anyone that has tried different builds tell me what would be best to install? I'm looking for something stable fast with Sense and I would also like to know what cooked up windows rom would work best with it. THANKS EVERYONE!!!
Oh I'm using 2.13 from tmobile!!!!
Wow did you just step into it..
Im just going to sit here with my popcorn and watch what happens..
Oh no...mods please close before this poor guy gets flamed. There was enough flaming in the 'too many mdeejay builds' thread
OP, here's the only response you're gonna get to this questions cause it's been asked 100 times before...
Try them out. Go through the different build threads and read..and read..and read. Different builds work better or worse for different people. It has a lot to do with your specific phone/winmo rom/radio/sd card/other data.
Not a single build is 100% perfect yet. Just have to find the one that works best for your usage.
On the bright side, it doesn't take much to install/uninstall/install a new Android build, so it isn't too much of a hassle trying different ones out to see what works best for you.
Good luck!

do you mind if i take some of that?... i just ate all mine watching the thread by the guy who hates mdeejay lol.
seriously, people need to start getting bans/suspensions.
OP:
do what most of the adults are doing... try some builds FOR YOURSELF and see what you like or dont like.
First you are (probably) going to have to flash a new WM ROM and radio.
do some research on this or you will most likely brick your HD2.
No-one here will give you any more help than the advice here ^^^
now for the love of god.... someone beer-me... i need a drink
I agree with tgtoys...but to help you out I personally use hyperdroid and I have less issues with it than most WM roms I have flashed...nearly everything works and works good. I have minimal freeze issues (similar to WM). I use Android every single day with no regrets...and it is my business phone! GL

There's only so many builds here. Try reading the thread of a build you might be interested in, try it. If you don't like it, try another. "Best" is very subjective. What's best for you may not be best for someone else. Switching builds is not very time consuming.
The best build is the one you didn't read about... which is all of them. You my friend should stick to windows mobile so you don't have to ask these kind of questions.
God not another one
I know its frustrating to try to find the best build, and I agree with others there isn't one best build with the variety of android types there are esp with or without sense. But the truth is there is no one solid build. I've tried like ten different ones and all have problems. Hell even a phone with stock android will have problems.
New builds come out almost daily. Figure out if you like sense out not, and find a build that is most stable for you. Then just read forums till you find one where all the reviews seem positive. Don't get in the habit of changing rooms daily though cuz it'll be a pain in the butt to reinstall everything and not much may change in builds each day. Good luck.

haha! I f*cken love it. I can recommend mdeejay's builds and Core's core droid v0.5. Cause it seems you have no idea what your looking for, just start there, learn a few things about it and find out what you want. Many people will disagree with the recommendations given, but that just proves the above points: Everyone's taste is different. Also this is NOT saying mdeejay's and Core's series are the best, just MY recommendation.

I agree with you all guys, except we can give him tips, afterall.
For exemple:
look for what you use,
some build do not work with 5mp camera,
some are faster with data transfer
just click on them all, read what's working/not working,

I agree, that a lot of questions shouldn't be asked, because the answers are already somewhere on the forum. This question belongs to the general android forum, but it could be a nice thread, in which experiences from users can be read.
If you like HTC Sense you should use Coredroid 0.5. It has everything working, (camaraflash works properly, handsfree dialing; don't forget to fix the dialing preferences)Important is the right radio, and I experienced, that the Chucky windows ROM's (e.g. Cuckydroid) work fine with it. Some other windows ROM's caused dramatic bad Data connections.
Good luck, and read a lot!

I have no opinion what the 'best' build is, but here is how I go about working out when and what android build to install on my HD2 next.
For each post from a Chef, I read the intructions to see if it works out of the box or if I needed to be adding extra modules / making other changes. Then I read the replies. Are the majority of the replies positive or negative? Does the Chef post replies? Is the Chef active on the forum?
I install builds where the Chef is active on the forum and / or active in the irc chat. Where no additional modules have to be installed. Where the majority of the replies are positive. But that is just me, everyone is different
EDIT: Oh and the obvious one, whether it is sense or vanilla. I choose sense most times.
I agree that if you got nothing to say just ignore the post. No need to come in here and get all over the guy or gal. I for one am glad he posted as I found out all of my data connction problems were due to my ROM. I love the Elegancia ROM's but it seems that Chucky's works much much better at least with my connections. Thanks for the good info. Oh I like the Desire ROM as it was built for a phone very similar to ours, thus it incorporates a lot of HTC goodies. Flashlight, Facebook integration etc.
I tried like 5 rom's,Sense 3.5 version rom's, rom's without sense based on ICS, and they all have like big bugs or lags, like ICS have screwed camera very low quality pictures, some sense 3.5 rom's have problems with 720p recording I can record but can't reproduce, and 480p recording was screwed on last rom, I think it was energy rom, and signal was bad I did put latest radio will try radio before that to see if it's going to be any better, and few Sense 3.5 rom's don't have option to import contacts from Sd card, becouse I got vcard and I couldn't import them without that option.
I'm using 4EXT recovery for paritioning, becouse I think it's the easiest way with that recovery and always put 1Gb of Ext partition and of course read for each rom is it better on EXT3 or 4
I know there are a lot of topics like mine, but I couldn't find anything usefull, so please suggest me some let's say "most used" rom on hd2 that doesn't have big bugs, and that is working normally, thank you.

Sense is laggy, everybody knows that. Not all ROM's have big bugs, if a ROM has a big bug, it's probably a beta or a WIP. Otherwise, the big bug is most likely caused by your device.

Signal is not related to ROMs usually, and since you tried "several" Roms and still got a bad signal, the issue is from your end.

Blame HTC/Google for not putting that option, it's not the developers' fault. Another way is you can import that vcard into your google account on the web, and the next time you sync your account on your HD2, your contacts will be downloaded automatically.

Of course you won't find anything useful, because threads like this usually get closed or the OP is flamed. If you want the most used, you can check on the right of NAND forum. You will see the views and posts. The one with the highest views is obviously the most popular.
Good luck in your journey.
Check this site http://android.hd2roms.com/.
You can use it to find the most popular ROM. Just try the one, which has more views and replies. But as Marvlesz said, every ROM has its own issue.
If you don't agree, revert back to Windows.

As a member since 2009 you should know by now how threads like this go. The 'best', 'most fluid', 'smoothest', 'lowest battery drain' etc. ROMs DON'T EXIST. It's all a matter of personal opinion, you will never get one single correct answer. Marvlesz's post is pretty much as good as you'll get. If you want the most used/popular ROM then look at how many views each thread has and how many posts there are. It may not be exactly correct but there's undoubtedly going to be a correlation. Otherwise, you're going to have to try out ROMs and decide for yourself. At the very least you could provide more details about exactly what you'd use your phone for, then MAYBE we could help you.

I replied to your request which was "please suggest me some let's say "most used" rom on hd2" with "If you want the most used, you can check on the right of NAND forum. You will see the views and posts. The one with the highest views is obviously the most popular."
Also Alex.KAI provided you with that useful site.
Now do you really want me to foresee your question in post #3 and answer it before you even post it? I am sorry man for not being a soothsayer or a wizard. I can't know questions before you tell them.
The least you could have done was pressing the thanks button, to show that you're grateful for my trying to help. Even if I didn't foresee and answer your not-told question, I explained why you were facing issues with your phone.
Now to answer your question in post #3:
Based on my experience, there was no ROM that stayed smooth with me a few months after the installation. Once I start using any ROM and installing apps, it tends to get slower and start to lag after a while.
And I am certain that many people may disagree with me, but that's my experience.
There you go. I hope you're not expecting me to answer a question in an upcoming post .
Good luck.
There are no "best roms", it's all trial and error.
Thread closed.
