Hello guys
My question is i m using creed Rom v3.5 and i want to backup this Rom...
Intelligent guys please don't say anything about nandroid backup because it backups all data cache android secure and making a backup of 530mb where i just want to backup this Rom only which is just 125mb or something around.
For your information i have deleted the creed v3.5 toroto.zip accidently and please don't say to download it again...
I just want a way by which i can backup Rom only...
try to use cwm recovery..select backup & restore..it will showing nandroid menu..select backup..then you wil know it to do...
after finished..go reboot your phone..connect it to pc with usb mass storage..select your backup zip file..
then make a updater-script (u can use from creed rom zip file with editing)..then make a folder system for ur system files (if necessary)..
make a zip file with winzip or 7zip or maybe winrar (choose one)..done!! go test by flashing it with cwm recovery..

One more thing friends
When we made nandroid backup it backups files like data
System
Boot
Android secure
Cache
So other way can i do that first i backup my current Rom
Than delete
Android secure
Cache
Data
So that only system remains in backup folder..
So it is possible to restore that by using advance restore option?

using advance restore
example system you want the system but still you want the ROM you can just restore the system

Hi @ all,
I haven't enough posts to write in the Data2System Rom's thread, so I try it here. I just want to ask if there is a way to update from my recent rom "data2system mod for 2.3.3 SwiftDroid v2.0-M2" to the latest M3 without lossing all my apps and settings?
Hope someone can help me.
greez G00fY
I havent try myself the following way but i think it might work.
Make a backup of 2.0M2 , put M3 backup folder in clockworkmod > backup next to the other and flash it then in advance restore Flash only system.img from M2 backup.
In data2system mod system.img makes the job of data.img in normal mod and viceversa.
If that does not work then use titanium backup pro and make a full backup of users apps then after flash new rom install titanium again and run the restore all user apps & system data. Titanium backup folder with your backups will be in your sdcard so copy it in a safe place if you ever need to format it.

If You have installed Clockwork recovery.
Then u can backup ur entire rom.
For this boot into recovery then go to Backup and restore and select back up.
after completing all procedure reboot ur device.
Connect your device in PC through USB (Storage)
Go to clockworkmod folder\backup
u can see the file with the date name....copy it to ur PC folder and you r done.
Press help if I helped you....
Ok ihave cwd.Just if later something go wrong,i must install cwd again copy cotest of backup folder and restore? What this chieftec 450w backup?complate rom,os,settings?Example if i have another rom can i with this metod restore to this rom what i backuo it?
a nandroid back up takes an exact image of the whole phone. system, data, apps, contacts, everything. its then placed in the clockworkmod folder on the sd card.
when you restore the backup it will bring the phone back to the exact state it was in when you did the back up.
and as far as i know you cant just select parts of it. its all or none. also i think if you rename it it might mess up the m5d sum but dont quote me on it
I did it from boot menu.Turn on + volume down backup and restore, backup and thet is it,i just go to look where is file and save to my PC.
I use rom manager to rename the backups, and never had a problem.
Also you can extract things from nandroids, apps, data, sms settings etc with an app called app extractor, it's in the market and there's a thread on xda for it somewhere.

Lol,I happened to test the naming of nandroid last night and I used es file manager to name my nandroid "test(with original date name) and it worked perfect. I need to have little reminders of which backup is which nowadays.
" once its gone,its GONE."
Me too, I currently have 5 nandroids and 4 bootable roms in my boot manager folder, so glad I bought that 16gb card!

Guys I need a little help.
I am planning on using stock Firmware. I am currently on Wanamlite v.18. I want a clean install just like when I am doing a Wipe prior to installing a custom ROM via CWM Recovery. But I don't want to lose all the files esp. those OBB's inside the Internal Memory:
This is my currenty setup
Wanamlite v1.8
Adam Kernel 1.8
PhilzTouch CWM-Based Recovery
GT-I9500
This is what I've thought of doing to properly execute my task:
Enter CWM Recovery and Wipe System, Data & Cache
Power-Off the unit and Enter Download Mode
Flash Stock Firmware (XXUBMG9, KSA) via Odin
Root, Flash Custom Recovery and Custom Kernel (Perseus or Adam)
Will my plan work or would each steps be in conflict of the other?
Many thanks for the answers!
I think you are on the right path...except that you have a chance of loosing your OBB files....so move them to a secure location and proceed...or better yet ...back up the app using the OBB file using titanium backup...that will ensure you have all the app data...there are many tutorials regarding this....then I think you can flash the stock Firmware. ..root the phone...then restore the app using titanium backup...good luck...hope this helps

How do you back-up those OBB files using Titanium Backup? I haven't tried that option.

As I mentioned. ..either you move the OBB files to a secure location or you have to back up all your apps via titanium backup.... the thing is OBB files are used in your apps...so when you backup your apps from TB....the obb files get backed up
I just got into rooting and stuff, and I see that I need to have a nandroid backup. But when I do the backup can I store it on my pc and delete it from my phone? If I get into a bootloop or something how am I supposed to restore the backup?

You can save the nandroid backup just like any other files. Save a copy of backup to your PC but don't delete it from your phone. The recovery has backup and restore options.
If you delete the backup from your phone and copy it to your pc then if your phone ever crashes then you will have to push the files to the appropriate folder via adb to restore it to the folder before you can restore the backup. Easier to just leave it on you phone....

Use titanium backup for apps.
Backup using twrp or cwm recovery and drag the file to your pc.

U can put it on your PC and delete the backup on your phone. As long as u have TWRP, u can restore from SD card. Not sure bout CWM...

Nandroid backups is only. Of the reasons I use Illusion ROM. super lightweight, but packs tons of goodness inside it. Frees up at least 500 mb of storage.

Worst case, you do a factory reset through your recovery then copy the Nandroid back to the phone and install it.
