Literally for ics minimum requirement is 1ghz processor
200 adreno or similar gpu
And 512mb of ram
So galaxy y can't get ics theoretically...
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
I tried Cyanogenmod 9, but it seems the ROM is half baked and even keyboard are not showing fully.
Nonetheless, it's a beautiful ROM - only if it was in active development.
alternate u can use jellyblast rom, it's just no look like jbean, but really feel jbean.
I have tried it sucks

You don't even have cm or aosp working properly, a whole team hasn't managed to port sense over to the galaxy s 1. A sense port is in fact possible, but it will take ages and a great team to do the job, which I doubt will spent their time in which they could've made money on something a few users would kind of like. Get a professional team, pay them, and that is when you will see your proper working sense rom.
Don't get me wrong, there are people who would like to try, but they will come out disappointed, for they will have to create the entire processor sources and get them to work on a closed-source rom. Probability of a working sense rom are very low.
Miui on the other hand is a nice alternative, it looks good and is way easier to port.
Something I forgot to tell by the way, if your s2 has a tegra 2 processor and htc ever releases a phone with tegra 2, which is very unlikely, you are in luck. If you have a samsung processor you're out of luck, since htc probably won't ever use processors made by a concurrent.

Hello guys!
The other day I decided to flash a Galaxy Note ROM for my Galaxy S2 (cause I thought they were alike and I was bored) but lo and behold after flashing, guess what happened?
Answer: nothing.
The screen wouldn't even turn on. If you find yourself in the same kind of situation as me (why would you even do such a thing), here's how to revive your S2.
Remove the battery
Wait for a while (5-10 seconds)
Plug the battery back
Hold down volume down, home button and power button for 10-15 seconds
Press volume up
Flash using Odin
Note that at points 4, 5 and 6 ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will be displayed on the screen - you might think that you bricked your phone, but it's actually still functioning!
Please don't repeat my stupidity and flash a Galaxy Note ROM to your S2! They're similar, but NOT THAT similar!
Hope this helped!
Fun fact: The phone got pretty close to booting - I heard the Samsung startup sound!

Hi all,
Good to see some one tried out by flashing a wrong ROM for a wrong Phone but ideally the he had the guts to check for the same.
+1 for letting ppl know what needs to be avoided in case of flashing ROM to specific ROM
You must be the worlds dumbest idiot.
Actually it's not very idiotic to try this out... Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note are nearly the same pieces of hardware, and with a bit of editing it might be possble to make it running.
A SGH-717 Note rom actually boots no problem on SGH-757M G S2 HD LTE. The hardware is like 99% identical. Sure some off the stock apps didn't quite work properly (mostly the stylus ones) but if it ever gets Jelly bean I'm going to try porting it as I doubt Bell will do an update past ICS for my phone.
Till now i used to think that i am the only one to make dump threads but you crossed the line.. Hatts off :banghead:

Main reason against these type of benchmarks posts is that their is at least one identical every week .Plus they are usually the poor benchmark tool Quadrant .
A single thread may be of use to some users but multiple same posts are of no use to any users .
Rule breaking yes user failed to SEARCH .

ok, a lot of people ask about quadrant scores. tbh we close the threads as they are very subjective, vary depending on how they are tested, and they also vary phone to phone. you can have two identical phones with the same rom/setup and get different scores.
this type of thread clutters the forum as we can end up with loads.
please keep any discussion to the relavant rom thread rather than comparing?

OK guys, one of the devs over in the atrix2 forum (my phone) not only ported this, but made it official, and its a great ROM, I have some bugs to work out, but I've built this from source and its running good for me, so before I make it a project I'd like a couple testers....
I am running it on philz recovery, and its running cyans kernel, so blackhawk should work....
Bugs:
cyanogen boot animation.... Working on that...
Keyboard: its for Chinese people... Your going to have to get one from the play store or use a root exploring file manager to place the apk in Tue links below in your /system/app/ Folder and change the permissions to rw-r--r--, then reboot.... Working on adding the aosp keyboard to the source...
