You know how when you power off your phone when it's charging you will eventually see a big battery on screen showing that it's charging? Well, when I flashed a new ROM (DT's Helly Bean), i realized that that charging battery symbol does not work. When my phone is on, of course the battery symbol in the notification bar works, but not when the phone is off. It shows the big battery on screen, but it gets hung while loading the battery power. I know this isn't a bug in the ROM because that isn't part of the firmware or kernel. I was just wondering if there is any way to replace it either with a new one or altogether?

nah just a bug in newer roms that use MTD filesystem. it still can charge while off, just the battery won't show up.

Will it work with other JB ROMs?

I've never actually seen this work with any non-TW ROM.
Sorry, what's a TW ROM?

TouchWiz, aka stock-based.
Oh, well that is a bummer.

Yes I know this one too, I think it's the best one..

Best calibration
I plug the cell in charger and wait 01 hour after full charge. After I reboot and disconnect for power.

Is there a way to have the LED at the front of the phone to glow red when not charged and green when fully charged?

Its built in Cyanogen Mod 10.1 and you can configure it in the settings.
Apps such as LightFlow can do this.

Tasker as well.
CM and AOKP both have this feature within settings.
My nexus 4 was fine the last few days, last night it died when i got home and has been being very complicated and weird. It went from no charge to 100% in like 5 min. Now today it died saying it had a full battery. In my car when i charge it i just get a solid red light. While i charge it here at work the red light flashes once, shows me the battery on screen with the bolt in it then turns off and keeps doing that over and over. Almost like a charging screen loop of death or something. Any ideas or fixes?

Cool thanks, I didn't have to do all those steps, just pulled the battery wires off and back on and it came right back on full charged. Thanks.

Easiest fix for red LED of death is to hold volume up and power for a minute, then charge.
