Jelly Bean XXDLI1. - Galaxy S III General

Well.
My first thread in these forums.
As I just got device. I've been using an Ace. and have developed ROM for it. So now, i'm looking to bring more eye candies for this community.
Getting to the point
XXDLI1 released.
Unfortunately, it's still a leak.
Anyone who has tested it, can you please tell me what are the known bugs/ issues?
Ofcourse, no one is the owner of SamMobile Here...But what are the rumours of the Official JellyBean Release for S3?
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Cheers,
M567.

I`am running the nandoid backup based odexed rom since this morning and had no single issue whatsoever. For me it`s perfect and all issues of LH9 are solved
I think the official release is probably in 1 or 2 weeks max.

Do you have that Google talk thing were you ask it something and it awncers you?

Click and hold the menu button, not the home or back but the first touch button that lights up.

How do i activate Google now by tapping the home button twice it doesn't work i have to hold down menu button for it to come up then i have to press it so i can ask it a question is that right or is there a different way??

disable s-voice and install home2 shortcut (it's on the play store)
follow its instructions and set it to load voice search and that will sort you
(it's what I have)

It's painfully slow on 3d gaming compared to ICS.

Hmm.
So what's better?
The Wait or the Leak??

Closed, use the sticky or the release thread for the rom.

Understandable. Wiki is not exactly the most reliable source for the definition of a "rhetorical question". So:

Basically, no one wins.

White Widow 3.1 works awesome on my phone! Keep up the good work Andrizoid and all
the devs that helped out. Are you still coming out with 4.0?
yes, im still working on it. got FCs fixed, fixed FB synching, im attempting to build a wlan.ko for wifi fix again, trust me...its in the making
and the problem was that i included googleshits in the release rather than having them separate.
according to the mod who closed it, i will be back up as soon as he gets back online. he asked for the link to unlock it but by time i replied he was already off

LOL, I just read this thread. Well, it's good that its only due to GS and not some kind of "infringement" issue. You should consider renaming the ROM to "Outlaw Widow" hahaha!
Keep up the good work, been running 3.1 for a few days now and not one FC or reboot.
I also installed Handcent yesterday and actually sent a mms with success !!

Easy to install 2.2 rom?

Hey guys-
I was wondering if anybody would be willing to create an easy to install froyo rom for the vibrant that could be installed through rom manager? If it's possible and someone would be willing to take on the challenge I and many other noobs out there would be much ablidged. Thanks in advance.

CM 6 is coming. For now enjoy the great job done so far
if you take a look at other threads under this forum, there has been work at porting 2.2 to this phone. Some difficulties in getting a fully functional build. I would recommend using the search function before starting a new thread, especially when posting under development, as you'll prolly get flamed pretty heavily.

It does exist. It was the international Froyo leak but it is not a complete Froyo since it is missing JIT as well as other things. That leaked ROM is incomplete and is not stable for everyday use. Especially on a Vibrant, there are a lot of bugs with it and it is not recommended to be using it as the daily ROM.
It's better off waiting for 2.2 to release by Samsung or the CM team. It's just around the corner. Be patient.

Exactly - there is no Froyo rom that is much easier to install than the leaked int'l one, let alone a stable one. What he's asking for doesn't exist. There's no secret, stable, froyo.zip floating around that people just aren't talking about.

So far theres not an easy way to get a fully functional 2.2 however as with anything give it time and we will see it some time.
i do believe that everyone on here wants that including all the developers working on it. if we were happy with 2.1 then we would have stuck with the original os that samsung put out for the vibrant. really did you have to ask this here? or at all? its technology its always growing. give it time!

Touchscreen works in ICS now (Alpha rom available)

Looks like PreludeDrew has figured out how to make the touchscreen work on the Evo 4G, for Ice Cream Sandwich, according to his tweet;
"@EndLesEVO Touchscreen works for the Evo 4G on Ice Cream Sandwich."
Just thought I'd pass along the good news. No mention of roms ready just yet, but this looks to be a fantastic step in the right direction.

It may have been done personally to keep it from going off task and starting 'drama'. I'm sure it'll re-open upon their next alpha/beta/update release.
His rom is so close to usable all we need is camera and no reboots
Then we can start throwing in stuff like bottom status bar and toggling ICS soft keys
I'm usig alpha 3 right now

Me neither. I am enjoying it.
I haven't had any reboots, but it runs really slow for me, once thats taken care of I'll give it a test run for a few days of use
Don't forget to turn off vibrate on touch/ keypress in the sound and keyboard settings. Helps a little but still lags.
Hoping they closed the alpha thread because the beta is close.
Aside from the camera and lag, most everything works. Typing this connected to my wifi while listening to Pandora on my bluetooth headphones.

You can also turn on the forced 2D acceleration under developer options in settings. Also turn off the windows animations.
People should just follow preludedrew on Twitter anyway. You get quicker updates that way.

CM9 question

have searched but could not find a straight answer. does CM9 use hardware acceleration and optimize both cores?
THX
At the moment, unfortunately, no...
This is the "Not working" section of the thread about ICS..
Not working
Adobe Flash (only some part work)
Built in video playback
HDMI landscape
YouTube LQ
Car dock
Fingerprint unlock
Webtop
Hardware Acceleration
Camera (obviously... like almost every ICS roms) The Entire camera API was rewritten for ICS, the current Camera drivers dont work (a lot of people are already working on this issue).

Well a release candidate comes out it should be fully working with hw acceleration and optimization of cores, although we may need to wait for official ics, but who knows.

As in Motorola? If so, when pigs fly. Best bet for having ICS on the Atrix is through CM.

OK to everyone saying cm9 doesn't have hw acceleration, play a game. Both 2d and 3d work, but render script doesn't correctly and is reverting to software mode. Its not so much a driver issue as much as a kernel issue too.
As far as that list you posted. That was for the port of my photon build, not my atrix build.

If it is true, 10 days left for me. BTW this like the 756th thread on this news...
About the app it's silly, all new-updated app makes update available for ICS 4.0, due to regulations for customers that bought already app.
And, as far as i know, 1 march =100% fully working stock rom with ICS, Samsung have been given before beta's already, now is the time for Sgs2 ICS
Great news if it does nothing else than speed up a full CM9 release
