they better hope its not plauged with all the sh*t our phones were supposedly plagued with... funny thing.. I have yet to suffer any of the things people were saying. I get good battery life, no screen separation, no cracked button, blown speaker .. or had it stolen LOL all on hardware 002

I'd give up 4G that I can't get where I live anyway, if they'd give back the $10/mo I have to pay.
I wanted this phone mostly for the 4.3" screen. The 4G isn't all that important to me.

I would actually bet money that that is their first LTE phone. They're supposed to be releasing a LTE aka 4G phone this November, this might be it.
I kinda want to go steal me one right now..
Once you get 4g you will never want to be without it. I am getting 3mb - 11mb everywhere and I am amazed at the speed difference in all apps.
This is exactly the evo with a bigger kickstand (which I would love a bigger kickstand, one that can support it in portrait mode would be killer)

That phone does look nice! But not nice enough to switch over to the price of their plans! And their crappy service! In my area anyway....
I doubt that's gonna be on verizon. It looks VERY European GSM esque and it has a front facing camera.
Call me crazy, but I don't like it, or at least the back. Gimme simplicity, the back its too busy for me.

Watch them ditch the HDMI port and have it unlocked just to avoid the whole mess.

Hey guys,
At the moment I have an Epic 4g Touch (AKA SGS II) possibly thinking about going to the Nexus S 4G. unfortunately right now the phones just not up to par for my expectations. I have poor voice and data everywhere I go (even with full bars). We are plauged with an issue called Loss Of Service where the radio just goes crazy and shuts it self off, and sometimes can only be fixed by restarting the phone. Ive missed alot of phone calls and texts because of this :\. We also are lacking in the rom development area, probably because of developers not wanting to deal with a device with such problems. Oh...and not to mention the sense of community is rather low there..trolls etc.
So as for my questions, they would be.
Hows the signal for you guys now?
Are you happy with the amount of development for the phone?
Does the 4 inch screen look small? or does it still feel large.
Tell me any pro's and con's that might not be apparent.
im already about 99% certain that ill be picking this phone up in a month or so until the E4GT straightens itself out (or gets ICS lol). Ive always wanted a phone that gets AOSP and this looks like a wonderful phone.
I appreciate any responses or feedback ^_^
Thanks,
HaiKaiDo

Its a great phone someone will trade you a Nexus s4g & around 200$ for your E4GT I like the phone but I'm going to keep my neXus s4g I'm either waiting on the galaxy s3 next year or if Sprint gets the galaxy Nexus I may take that even thou the s3 will kill it spec wise! Thanks for the feedback . Good to know!
Nexus s is the best because all of the very gooddevelopers are here.
And i think it is the most crowded development here in xda..
So my wife currently has the samsung moment still and I'm gonna upgrade her before Christmas. I'm debating on the HTC Design 4g, or the Nexus S 4g from sprint.
They are both close in size and processing power, etc. I hear there are reception issues though on the nexus S 4g? Is this true? Regardless I would put CM7 on it anyways, but just wondering.
Struggling with a decision. I love HTC and it has a slightly stronger CPU than the Nexus S, but having a google phone is cool too.
Thoughts?
If she is smart buy a Nexus S
If she isn't so smart and she is not going to flash custom ROMs buy the HTC device
I suppose you are 18 years old if I read and decode your nickname. Are you sure you want to spend that a lot money in your girlfriend / wife? If I guessed your age right, I want you to think again before making that purchase.
From my experience women want to keep things simple. Ask yourself. Does she really want a new phone? Or is it you that wants to see her having a new phone.
Both are great phones.
Buy a nexus. Whether she roots or not its still one of the best devices on sprint. Plus ics is coming real soon.

If there was ever a LTE version for att of the NS, I could honestly say it would be the last phone I would ever need.
I would be happy with a HSPA+ for TMO or ATT
Hell I am hoping the LTE version will launch for Sprint too
If the GN comes I see it being the LTE flavor. Or maybe dual WIMAX and LTE?
I was thinking of the Epic Touch but seeing ICS on INT GS2 left a horrible taste in my mouth . Hopefully they will leave the stock launcher like they did for GB?

I've reached the conclusion that buying expressive electronics when they first come out is simply a bad consumer choice. How often do new electronics (especially phones) ship with some kind of defect? It takes at least a few months for all the bad batches to reach the suckers and the bug-free versions to hit shelves.

Nexus S is somewhat of a special case; most if, if not all, the bugs were worked out the year prior with the galaxy s line. And if you paid attention, which i did, the gs had plenty of problems til they released the the updated versions without bugs (gs4g and ns). On top of that, the ns4g had the ns out before it--> that's about 3 generations of product field testing. You should really thank gs, ns, and gs4g for making your ns4g what it is today
Current evo4g owner eligible for an upgrade. Was on the sprint website trying to decide between this ns4g ($0.00) and the epic touch4g ($199.99). Love the gs2's hardware, but I agree with don'tshootmesanta's distaste for TouchWiz smothering the ICS goodness underneath. Love the nexus s 4g, but it is getting a little long in the tooth. Would it be wise to get the nexus now?
As a premiere customer I believe my annual upgrade will disappear in two weeks as the program comes to an end, and the opportunity to (finally) own a nexus device, for free, seems foolish to pass up.
The foolish thing would be not to get the iPhone 4s and flip it. Nexus S 4G are too cheap to use an upgrade on it.

Yerp. Lnib I've seen them hovering around 100 bones.

So you're saying I ought to:
1. Use my upgrade to buy the iPhone 4S for $199.99
2. Sell iPhone on craigslist/ebay for ~ $600
3. Keep using the evo or use the $400 profit to buy new phone off contract?
I jumped on this today for my other line...anyone recomend any good roms...or is stock rooted good enough....I would like to overclock a little too...any recommendations would be helpful cause this won't be my phone so i won't be able to tinker with it...thanks

For me it's either Nexus or no Android phone but I'd get the Epic Touch 4G. You could easily sell it, buy a Nexus S 4G and have some cash to spare. You could even wait and see if the Galaxy Nexus hits Sprint and sell the Epic Touch 4G then.

Yea Peter Alfonso's Bugless Beast GPA 19, very much stock but better. You can just d/l and install it through Rom Manager although it's probably still on these forums some where, just to much other ICS stuff to wade through and find it. I've tried them all and his is by far the smoothest bug free one I've came across, great battery life as well. I'll stick with it until he gets a ICS version up and running.

Why is it funny? it is always cheaper through a retailer then directly. You can get it for 1 penny on amazon. The only downside ordering it through a 3rd party is if you cancel after 30 days but before 180 days you pay 200$+ extra to cancel.

Still, considering you can get an Epic for $100 off contract and run CM10 on it, and a SGS3 for $150 via Amazon/Best Buy, I am kinda unwilling to risk jumping on board another phone with slim development prospects, until I hear otherwise. Perhaps if CM accepts the device...

This isn't true. LG has a keyboard phone in the pipeline called the Cayenne.
The Photon is a no-go for me due to embedded battery. As it is I need to use an extended battery with the Epic and always carry a spare for backup.
When batteries were always replaceable I considered physical keyboard my deal breaker. Now replaceable battery is my deal breaker. I'd like a keyboard too, but if I *HAD* to choose between keyboard and replaceable battery I'd go with the replaceable battery. Keyboard does me no good if the phone is dead...
Hey all. I'm coming to T Mobile within the next month (I've been on sprint for like 10 yrs). I've owned A LOT of android devices, including the galaxy nexus. Basically I'm torn here: I love stock android because it's the best and because development on it is incredible. I am tempted however by the note 3. I imagine dev support will also be strong for the note 3 and I just don't know which way to go. If I got one or two questions answered about the nexus 4 tho, it might help. That's where you all come in.
First and foremost, and I may be totally misunderstanding this but, is it true that this device has no lte? Or has that been remedied somehow? If it doesn't have lte, how is the data speed it DOES get? Secondly, and I suppose more generally, what do you think--if you were in my shoes--would you stick with the nexus, or jump to the note 3?
Thanks in advance, really appreciate it!

T-mobile USA, you can achieve LTE by simply flashing an older radio. I would say battery life is enough but not the best, you will need to tweak it a bit with custom kernels etc. With my current tweaks, my battery lasts me about 2 days light usage. With medium - high usage, will last about a day.
I would choose N4 and use leftover money on accessories.

As I am sure you have seen by just skimming through the forum, LTE is capable on our phone since there are roms out there LTE based. The phone is relatively inexpensive at this time. Also whether LTE or 4G depending on your area speeds are great either way. KitKat is on its way and the use of Google Wallet is what will keep me using stock Google or at least the fact there are quite a few rom choices.
It's cool to hear everyone so far have the same opinion. I think I'm leaning towards the nexus. When I was on sprint and the nexus 4 came out I was SO pissed that only t mobile got it. Now, this is like poetic justice that I'm able to finally have it...lol.
Just curious, I may get the same device for my wife--she's not into the whole rooting and running custom rom game tho, so for her sake, is the data fast enough?

You think it'll be in October? I heard November--but yeah, the thought did cross my mind. How long is t mobile's return policy?

Well, they are usually announced late October, and launched early November. I'm not really sure how long T-Mobile's return policy is, I am on prepaid and I got my Nexus 4 from Google way back last November.

Having you two guys' opinion REALLY means a lot. I believe I've ran mods/roms made by at least one of you, if not both. Thanks again.

Yeah, I'm gonna go with the monthly installment of like $14 for the nexus. I'm kinda hoping that if I get it and the 5 comes out in the next 30 days, they'll let me exchange it.
