3G issue on CM 7.2 - Blade General

hey guys, so after a lot of design cutomising, i had a bad flash and had to reflash my blade using ZTE Flasher
followed a MoDaCo guide (De-bricking a ZTE Blade by hedgepigdaniel)
but i'm having a problem now. Except the stock browser, no other app can connect to 3G/EDGE.
Anybody having a similar problem? and anybody with a solution?
Thanks!

The apps don't control the radio interface so it sounds more like a permission problem to me, run fix permissions from CWM.
As long as you flash via CWM you'll never have to use any de-brick guides, just pull the battery and hold down vol- while starting the phone to return to recovery and redo the flash (or flash a known working ROM), the CWM recovery cannot brick a phone.

Hey thanks man! CWM's fix permissions worked, and i have nooo idea how it happened in the first place.. and yeah, i use cwm recovery all the time, but i found this app in a slightly untrustworthy site. i also just found out it wasn't meant for my phone in the first place! (facepalm)
anyway, its all working now, thanks

[Q] Vibrant_AOSPish_JK2 ROM, won't go to recovery

Hi guys i just installed this ROM Vibrant_AOSPish_JK2 on my vibrant and all was perfect. Then i tried to condition my battery. Turned off phone with power cable connected and tried to go into recovery mod but phone stuck at vibrant screen. I pulled power cable turned off the phone and turn it on regularly and all was fine, then i turn it off again without power cable connected and it stuck again on vibrant screen. Then i went to ROM Manager and boot to recovery same thing happened phone stuck on vib screen. And now i cant turn it on anymore it stuck on vibrant screen every time. I tired to pull out battery... What should i do? Thanx in advance
Are you using the three button combo? If so and its still not working, try downloading quickboot from the market.

With the phone hooked up to the computer pullout the battery, sim, & sd card. Then try to reboot into recovery with the volume rocker & power button. Hope that works, good luck!
You need to install busybox to be able to boot into recovery in that Rom

I can't turn on my phone thats the problem... I tried the magic combo without luck... I had busybox installed. Maybe the problem was because i didnt have cwm properly installed. I renamed cwm installation folder to update.zip and that run it from 2e recovery. After that i can access cwm but need to repeat the procedure every time.
Finally i succeeded with Odin to solve my problem. Now im on stock rom again. Only this time i installed cwm 2.5.1.2 trough ROM manager but phone still goes to default recovery i dont know if this is normal? I want to flash to Froyo Rom where i can find clear tested version? Thank you guys for replaying and trying to help

I'm running cwm 2.5.1.2 also, and rooted with froyo+voodoo lag fix on vibrant, phone's running great, just trying to get rid of bloatware right now, my recovery boots fine, I wiped everything then reverted back to stock 2.1 when I had issues then updated through kies to 2.2, ran super one click root, and ran voodoo through odin, got rom manager from market and recovery worked perfect. hope this helps

the problem is, the AOSPish JK2 rom doesn't install busybox properly. You'll have to reinstall AOSPish jk2, then before rebooting, install busybox from the market. then it'll work. (the EXACT method has been described in the AOSPish jk2 thread many time, but hasn't been updated in the op)
I know for the busybox process i did that but something went wrong obviously. I repeated the process and for now everything is ok recovery is working. Thanx for help guys i appreciate that

Please can you elaborate...or point me in right direction......recovery is now only accessible by flashing it first....phone just wont do anything
download a 2.3.3 nandroid backup and restore to it using clockwork recovery
ignore odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
update to 2.3.3 using http://android.clients.google.com/p...2cf141e6a.signed-soju-ota-102588.f182cf14.zip
or just download CM7 and flash that along with gapps (wipe dalvik/cache/factory)
and your phone is not bricked. the definition of a bricked phone is a phone who cannot access recovery/fastboot/etc.. can access absolutely nothing
Well, he does say that his attempts to flash a rom always abort...
OP, we need more details.
Are you using Clockwork Recovery? Which version? Try an older/newer version...
What ROM are you trying to flash? Have you tried others?
What happens when you try a normal boot? You say you get as far as the first setup screen?
Have you tried a Factory Reset of the phone from within recovery (stock or clockwork)?

I think it might be okay now ....after titanium said busybox was installed....i dont think it was done correectly.....after downloading busy box from market....recovery seems to be sticking rather then reverting back to android. Just to check....is there anything i should do to check all is well on my phone and also while flashing i think i changed build number from IR to GH (what are the implications of this move? many thanks...phew

That's normal. See below:
It's normal to lose the recovery after the reboot, the steps to flash the CW recovery needs to be repeated every time you want to access the CW recovery.
This is due the build in protection in 2.3
As some one pointed it out on another topic, the good thing about this is that you'll never lose the stock recovery of 2.3, thus minimizing the chance of a bricked phone.
If you want to the CW recovery to remain permanently, you'll need to rename /etc/install-recovery.sh to something thing else

[Q] Weird things happening with my DZ

My DZ has been doing some weird things lately and I'm at a bit of a loss as to what could be causing them.
It's rooted, S-OFF, running MIUI with ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0 installed but the recovery image won't do anything at all any more.
I click on an option and it just goes to the top-hat, circular arrow 'thinking' screen and stays there. It's the same with everything I select; it won't reboot, power off, wipe..nothing.
The problems started with the previous version of ClockworkMod, but are still present with the update.
It worked fine before, I was able to flash ROM's and do all the other usual tinkering, but then it literally just stopped with no instigation.
I've tried wiping the recovery and manually installing a new one via FastBoot but it won't work in FastBoot any more either. I just get the FAILED (remote: not allowed) message for everything I try and do.
I'm baffled.
Any ideas?
TIA

The new clockwork 5 has alot of issues. You should try to reflash clockwork mod 3 or 4
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Thanks for the reply, mate.
The problem is that I can't reflash to any other recovery.
The issues started when I was using the previous version, which was 4.X or something, so I updated to the latest iteration hoping it would fix the problem, but it didn't.
Don't use the power button to select stuff in clockwork, that's like a sleep mode.
Use either trackpad or camera button.

This. I think he's using the power button or volume buttons to move and select, which is incorrect.
You have to use the trackpad to scroll and select items.
So why are you trying to flash the new recovery through fastboot? Just pull your battery and boot into MIUI normally, then go to ROM manager and flash CWM 3.0.2.4, it will work. If it doesn't flash properly, go into the settings and select "wipe recovery before flash".

I have met the similar problems too.
and I solved it via reflashing the recovery using the ROM manager.
So you can reflash your clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.0 by ROM Manager, I guess that will work.
Cheers for the replies Nipqer & martonikaj.
The trackpad thing might be the issue but I can't tell because my wife's gone out with the phone! I'm used to using the recovery on my GS2 and DS2, which doesn't have the trackpad etc. so I may well have been using the volume rocker and power key on muscle memory.
Though it is interesting that that method obviously worked in previous iterations of the recovery.
Oh and in answer to your question I was trying to use FastBoot because I perceived the problem to be due to the flash via ROM manager.
@Sunkins - Yeah, I think ROM manager was working just fine. The problem seems to be down to the man in the loop! Cheers for the advice, mate.
I would recommend recovery 3.0.2.4 as it is rock solid, and seems to be the most reliable.

You are not able to enter CMW because you flashed a stock rom. When you flash stock rom you will lose the CWM recovery. To fix this install rom.manager and root your phone again because you have lost your root and recovery this will fix your problem

First root your device using an app z4root. Get it from your pc and transfer and install using filer. Go for a permanent root. Next, like said above, flash Clockworkmod using the Rom manager app. Download it to your system and copy it over to the sd card and install using filer again. Flash lateat Clockworkmod in Rom manager. After that,to enter clockworkmod, power off your phone and boot with power and vol- pressed. Since you're already Gen2,flash ONLY gen2 roms such as Cyanogenmod or gingerstirfry or swedish snow. And remember before flashing these files,do a Wipe data/factory reset in clockworkmod.

to root your phone all you need to do is have usb debugging enabled on your phone and download an application from your pc super one click all you have to do is connect your phone via the cable to the pc and click on the root button. This will root your phone from your pc directly.
Once you have root on your phone download rom manager nd install the latest CWM recovery and flash a rom of your choice best not to use stock roms because you will lose root and CWM recovery again

Hi
This is called clockworkmod recovery. It's used to flash (install) ROMs, tweaks, mods and Google Apps
Download any ICS GApps package (it'll usually be in the same thread you downloaded the ROM from)
Then place this GApps zip in your SD card. In recovery mode, select install zip from SD card, and then choose the zip you just downloaded

Good luck.
Put your transformer in APX mode by hold the power button & volume up.. If it turns back on do it again, make sure you have you sync cable plugged in and drivers installed. Now that your in APX download this stock rom then root it with viper (option 1 in viper)

Yes there's a fix in there towards the bottom of the first post.
If you want to flash another recovery, turn your device on into recovery, connect it to your computer and use adb to push the file to your internal storage.
It should be something like "adb push filename.zip /data/media" then you can use the borked recovery you're on to flash the one you pushed.

Yes it will what are you talking about? If he wants his tablet to work again and if he's not worried about the data on it (since he can't access it anyway) then this will work... Overkill lol , call it what you want it will work and it's simple!

His problem is with it getting stuck in recovery, which is a known issue with Koush's 5.5.0.4, simple fix with adb. No need to reflash the whole rom.
