This is u8800+ cm7 2012.01.02 realese by Genokolar,with some chinese stuf,but you can delete it with TitaniumBackup.Need delete Root Explorer and Mesage launcher,have some chinese stuf.

Srange, the only thing that's not working is wifi and bluetooth... but video recording is working in u8800. I WISHED i knew what libs are responsible for video recording I really wished that

Please, can somebody solve u8800 video recording using u8800pro (this roms) libs? Installing this rom on ordinary u8800 makes video recording work, why does geno cm7 for u8800 with new kernel doesn't allow video recording? PLEASE someone...
I already tried to replace all camera related libs that i could find, even camera app itself, but nothing works. Press record button and image just stop as usual...

Speak english as it's not lithuanian forum. Prior to posting ridicilous statements make sure you know what you're talking about. 8800+ = 8800pro, rtfm.
Performance increased drastically with this rom, but now it suddenly sees only 2gb on sd card, will reinstall tomorrow i guess. Flip issue seems to be gone too

Everything works except wifi in Normal U8800. Sound issue still there, video record seems like solved.
Its have english language but don't have latinime. You must install another keyboard.

I don't think its kernel problem because I'm using 12.22 kernel from geno release, and video recording work with it. Problem must be libs or another things.

This is rom for u8800+(pro) not for u8800..

That much I think everyone has understood already... what we are discussing is that installing this ROM on U8800 makes video recording work on U8800, while the real ROM from geno for U8800 has video recording broken... that makes me scratch my head like no other thing in recent times

Assuming that geno had his u8800 was bricked, I'd wager a bet that's probably a configuration error he couldn't test for due to the lack of a u8800.

he made an ics test rom and a .35 kernel cm7 rom after he bricked his phone
so i think its not about bricking the phone , he said "i wont be supporting u8800 from now on" somewhere

EDIT: After all, I didn't miss it, I had some pages still open from the time when I asked this and there is no Thanks button but if I refresh it appears, so maybe it was some kind of problem in the forum.

Alright so, have you succeeded at decompiling SecSettings and deleting the "RemovePreference" code, then adding the smali files to SecSettings.apk and android.policy.jar from Note 10.1? And didn't boot?

Well, there was no line in SecSettings.apk to change. Like I said, this is gonna take some reverse engineering and trial and error as the tablets have a different framework.
Otherwise, I followed the guide and straight copied the corresponding smali files from the Note 10.1 and didn't boot.

Sweet. Like the OP says this is a collab, so once I set up the GitHub we will all be able to make changes and track the changes, and hopefully more members of the community can contribute. I'm sure with more people working together we'll make better progress.
I think IF we ever get this working, we could make a nice community ROM with a lot of ported apks from the Note 10.1 :good:

I have a 5113 but will be using the 5110. Once the GitHub is set up the files can be compared. I really don't think there will be that much of a difference between 5110 & 5100 but we'll see. The project can always be branched so there's a 5110 and 5100 branch, and commits can be cloned between branches, so that makes it nice.
And for poor English that's no problem! It's great to have you on board!

Shouldn't matter. We're just going to extract and decompile the .jar and .apk files that we need from it, not the entire ROM.
They should apply to any version of the tab, same as CM10.1 builds apply to any version.
You'll see how it looks once the GitHub is ready. It will take me like 40 minutes more to download this firmware though...

My wife recently had a friend from China visit, my wife is from China, who had a Xiaomi phone running the famous Miui setup. So I started looking at the Miui and its pretty slick. If you use google chrome to translate emmbedded is a link for Miui kernel 720p and 4 parts to make the ROM. I downloaded and flashed the kernel and the rom an next thing I know I am running Miui v4 on the PLAY, and boy is it gorgeous.
I just got back from vacation last night but I will be making a video and posting a link of it here. I also am uploading now a zip, insie this zip is the meta-info and system folders, plus several other folders that say things like R800, R800x, etc. Inside these folders are jsut apks, mostly to get touchpad support although I have not fully tested yet.

To make things simple I will make a nandroid backup and upload a link for that, plus a link for kernel for it.
I have to say this rom is sweet, I am loving it. Also, Xperia PLAY Launcher appears in the market so it has been modded to use the launcher and the gamepad and touchpad.

i cant seem to download the kernel because if "hotlinking" or something :/

Okay, so the previous link is for V5 of Miui for the following phones, this is a port, so unofficial.... also just noticed its based off of CM 10.1, so in my opinion its not a true Miui ROM, whereas the v4 I have installed is from what I can tell a true Miui ROM. But I could be wrong, I am still new to this Miui stuff.

Okay, so it is Aroma installer but its really slick install and loader, really pleasant and bristling with options prior to install.
Edit - V5 looks no different then v4, with the exception V5 states rom as V 4.1.2 of Android

Rom is working wery well. Only one problem see is that stock music.apk is not working corectly. That means music downloaded from baidu is plaing normally. No matter I use internet to play (stream) or download song on device.
But when I choose song from my SD card song is stopped immediately. Maybe someone can give some advice?

This up ^ is from stock player with song downloaded with baidi. Work normally.
This up ^ is same player from SD card. Ewery songs are same issue from SD. Just stop after a half second.
But see bellow:
This is screen with song from SD card played from stock manager. Song is open in something like mini player and normally run.
Amazing and strange.

So it could be due to music player. Have you tried any other music player from Play store ???

Of course. Aimp is working fine. I don't listen lot of music but I have to say music player from miui is great.
I very like miui and use them ago with. HTC Desire, Desire Z, Galaxy Ace 2 and now n7000. Never had problems with music player

* about stability and ready for daily use:
I have to say its really nice product!!! Definitely ready to use as daily Rom. Im trying veganencenote by Garrett on 4.1.2 touch wizz source (ower a half year) And this stuff for me is better.
* heating - NO no any heating seriously!
* smoothness - like I sad upon very responsible even normally unlock device by lock screen is smoothness than in vegansnce (I don't wanna say something bad bout Garrett's roms. I like veganance to but for me its time to kitkat) .
* Any other thing which you'd like to add - one more strange thing is that after install Rom has no keybord. But I use my favourite old keyboard from Lumia. ( I'm strange I know)

Which Gapps do you suggest ?? I tried various but they are crashing. Could you please direct me to correct one ?
I'm trying the latest ROM from OP based on MIUI 6. Apart Gapps crashing, everything is ok. Including Music app.

Hmmm that sound's great! I have to try this Rom to. Maybe could u upload them on some server couse link in OP was break wile download for me.

Yeah, I was thinking to add after my own experience. Will do it this weekend after trying with above Gapps. Thanks for the link.

So @gaurav-11 coild ubupload this rom cause I can't download them. Every time download was unsukcesfull

I've tried it (without gapps). It's very much stable for me.
