U8800 distorted partition causing boot loop (Need help) - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Dear friends,
I was just playing with partition of U8800 handset and flashing too many ROM's ,it happened like i am not able to flash official ROM and i can only flash customized ROM. After flashing ROM mobile continuously boot loops after few minutes.
I have tried stock partition then tried to flash official ROM but failing only screen pops up with scrolling bar without any alphabets and stops at around 30% and nothing happen.
I have attached my partition table for reference , request to help and suggest to restore U8800

The problem may be a result of more than 600 MB Remapping to get everything back to normal need to repartition the 600 mb.
1.Downloading firmware b138sp4
2.Remapping download files up to 600 MB
3.Incremental backups to b138sp4. No need to install from SD and from internal memory.
4. Replace the recovery 5.0.2.6 in the pink screen
5. We go into recovery and do repartition setting archive partition600.zip (without a wipe and once, no need to install it a second time after reboot recovery)
6. Do reboot system now and wait for it to start.

[Q] What to do after a brick?

Hello everyone.
I hope you can help me.
I had an A500 bricked spontaneously (I was checking Twitter, the screen frozen, I turned off the tablet and when I turned it on again, it stucked on Acer logo) so I used the guide to recover recovery (this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751978, because I rooted my tablet but I didn't install recovery).
Everything was ok, I flashed the V7-Thor v1.7.3 but when I tried to install stock ROM of ICS (wipe data and cache), the tablet got "re-bricked" and only enter in APX mode.
Then I reflashed and installed V8-Thor_1.7.3_recovery and I tried to install Acer_AV041_A500_1.054.00_WW_GEN1-DEODEXED-FULLROOT through update.zip (turned on the tablet in recovery --> Install from zip file --> Install zip file from SD card --> update.zip, then it said "Installed" and I rebooted the tablet, but it stuck on "Booting primary kernel image"...
What I'm missing or doing wrong? :/
What should I do to run ICS in my tablet again?
I'm not familiarized with the ROMs, Recoverys or flash... sorry if my question is stupid or something, but before this I never moved anything to my tablet (except for root it).
And sorry too for my bad English.

I think where you went wrong was choosing "install zip file from sdcard >update.zip"
Go back into recovery again > install from zip file > Choose zip from SD card (
if the file is on your micro sd card)
You should see a list of all your files and choose your rom file:
Acer_AV041_A500_1.054.00_WW_GEN1-DEODEXED-FULLROOT.zip
Once its done, Stay in recovery and go to: Wipe Menu and do all the wipes there
Data -cache and dalvi-cache then reboot
Once you're all set up and before you reboot again, make sure there is not an "update.zip" on your sdcard - if you boot to recovery it may flash automatically and you will end up "stuck" again
good luck

Thanks! I did it and it worked, but after the reboot the tablet only shows the animated android logo... what's the problem? The ROM?
When I did the "Wipe data" it said "Formatting data" and after "Skipping erase of /data/media". I checked with the "Mount and Storage" menu in recovery and seems like my data before the brick's still in the internal storage of the tablet... is that normal?
EDIT: what version of cwm to have now? If its not 1.7.3 then go ahead and reflash the v8

Yes it is - keeps your data intact but 'resets' the rom to like it is when you first flash, there is an option to wipe data/media if you wish to - theres a toggle to enable it but on every boot to recovery it will be disabled again...
You can try another flash of the rom itself otherwise reflash the v8 bootloader.
Do you have access to "fastboot mode" power vol down - just wondering

I tried to reflash the same ROM, but this time nothing happened, again only says "Booting primary kernel image"... a question, if I try to flash a stock ROM (like Acer_A500_1.031.00_WW_GEN1.zip from the post of stock roms)... it will let my tablet again only in APX mode when I turn on it, right?
And I see the option "Fastboot mode" when I turn on the tablet holding Vol +.
About your question I don't know how to answer, I flashed V8-Thor_1.7.3_recovery... is that a CWM?
In the top it says CWM Recovery v5.5.0.x(thor2002ro/digetx rev 1.7.3) Iconia A50x...

sorry, not sure I understand your question...are you saying you're now stuck in apx mode - black screen power light on?
There are 2 types of stock rom on here....
1) Official Acer EUU or OTA roms
2) Official Stock roms which are Custom - pre-rooted and able to flash CWM etc -
If you flash one of the Acer EUU or OTA roms you will lose CWM and Root
To be honest - with your tab "spontaneously" booting and being stuck on the acer logo and the issues that have followed - its sounding more and more like a faulty chip - this is something that only acer can fix...I could be wrong about this and I hope I am...but something is just not feeling right...
- you still have cwm and access to fastboot - thats a bonus - maybe do a complete format thru CWM of data/media, system (and flexrom if its there) then try to flash a rom again - if it still won't flash AND if you're not stuck in apx mode then I think you'd be best to download an official update.zip - from Blackthund3rs thread here this one -
Acer_AV041_1.054.00_WW_GEN1:
Once you've d/l'ed it...try opening it if you can't then it will need decrypting the instructions for this are in the OP..
Once you have extracted the "update.zip" and have it on your sdcard - flash via CWM
good luck

What do you mean "If if its not 1.7.3"? Are there problems with flashing the bootloader with 1.7.3?
no, no, not at all, i meant if he didnt have that version to reflash v8 to get it
oops clicked wrong button
he said he flashed stock rom and ended up with dead android = stock recovery

Hello everyone!
I have a similar issue whith my a500. but i can restore the backup i did of my honeycomb sistem in cwm (i have acess)
aftter making the backup i have flashed V8-Thor_1.7.3_recovery.a500apx in apxflashtool in order to get ics boot loader and install ICS roms.
so far so good after the flash i had already a ICS rom in my sd card redy to flash so imediatly after V8 flash entered cwm and did clean format and wipe all. Next installed the rom (aroma instalation) no problems what so ever. After instalation is finished reboted and now im stuck on skilax v8 bootloader boting primary kernel image
i tried the folowing
- chage kernel multiboot fix partitions redo clean format etc etc etc (ALL THE STEPS)
-many other ics jellybean rooms (all of the install but dont boot)
- honey comb rooms install and BOOT normaly.
at this point thought maybe it was a bad V8 flash and decided to reflash the V8-Thor_1.7.3_recovery.a500apx
Now the flash tool can get pass uploading image phase.
i have correct sbk and cpuuid since i had to recover last week from boot verified failed error and use the flash tool whith correct sbk to recover the tablet with sucess.
So basicly im stuck wit
h my honeycomb rom backup or other HC roms
any news on this subject?

Yes just one question what is - " chage kernel multiboot "???? Sounds dodgy
You can boot to fastboot mode then do an erase of data and cache, see if that helps for a start....
Do you stil have recovery and can you still restore your HC backup?
I have seen a post or two where tabs can only boot HC Roms and no ICS
It "maybe" the dreaded hardware fault - you might be best to d/l the babsector.rar and run that - it will give you a proper error if theres something wrong - can get it from the root guide in my sig. Give me a minute or two and I'll post some steps in using it
---------- Post added at 09:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:53 AM ----------
How to use babsector.rar
Download and extract the babsector.rar to a folder on your PC
Turn your tab off and put it in apx mode manually. Press and hold reset button, hold power for 3 secs after the light comes on and release it, after another second release the reset button. Your screen is black and the power light is on.
Connect your tab to your PC
Navigate to the babsector folder and click on 501 A.bat, when its done
Reboot into recovery
Go to Mounts and Storage and Format System twice and Power Off
Go back into apx mode and run 501 B.bat
Reboot into recovery and do the wipes and flash your rom
Reboot

[Q] Galaxy Y boot problem

Hello,
At first my phone wouldnt boot up and made restarts so i tried installing roms with odin and now it wont even show samsung boot logo anymore.
Only volume down + home + power buttons work ... i dont know the meanings of bricking and rooting so i need a step by step tutorial for newbies.
I have searched the google and i havent found anything useful so i thought if i cant find any help here i have to take my phone to repair service but i think it would cost more than phone is worth

Flash a stock rom...! Search on youtube on how to flash a stock rom.
Rom: Hyperion 8
Kernel: Savie's kernel
Theme: My own modification
odin fails the process
read here bro it helps solve your problem...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
This may work if odin doesn't
Take yours sd card out your phone and put it in your pc (you will need a micro sd adapter and a pc with sd card slot or a usb sd card reader)
Download any custom rom from developers section - let's say evo-x3
Download hells fusion #50 kernel from dev section
Place both zips on sd card either via the card reader or another method if you can
Put sd card back in phone
Boot in Cwm (you will need a temporary Cwm if you don't have one)
Do a full data wipe reset (wipe data system and cache)
Mount everything (data system & cache)
Install zip from sd & choose hells fusion #50
Choose option 1 install stock rom
Restart back into recovery
Install zip & flash temporary cwm
In Cwm mount system
Install zip & select hells fusion
Choose option 2 install hells fusion
Restart back into Cwm (you will have permanent Cwm now)
Mount system
Install zip from sd & select evo-x3
Restart
With some luck everything should boot after a while (evo-x3 has no boot animation so wait at least 6mins on first boot)

Cwm will work if you have a temporary cwm
If you can get into stock recovery mode you can get cwm
Or if you have a kernel with a permanent Cwm you can go straight into it
Push volume up and home button - hold these buttons & push & hold power button
Phone will start in recovery mode either stock recovery or cwm depending on kernel
If it doesn't then it's a hard brick & you will need to search on how to resolve hard brick
First of all try not to move the cable while flashing....
Second if odin fails consistently it is possible either odin or the packages have gone currupt ...download a new one
flash pda first if work good flash all three pda modem and csc....
try and report....

[Q] I cant update, goes into restart loop!

I am trying to solve for weeks, tried a lot of roms but still could not manage.
My phone is huawei u8800. Kernel 2.6.32.9
buildnumber u8800v100r001c00b138sp04
It is 2.2.2
I click online upgrade in about phone menu but it cant find anything to upgrade.
I install cwm and flashing a new rom, for example b518 2.3 but after installing, it restarts after loading logo and this goes on. And everything is wiped, cwm is wiped after this and i have to go into android recovery to solve this. I reset wipe data and if i am lucky, i can open phone in 2.2.2. If not, it makes me to try to go back to.
I dont know how this happened first. I was using aurora then i wanted to go back to stock rom. I made also partition and maybe this is the reason.
In cwm, it cant mount ext sd so i have to + - and power to upgrade.
Please help me to solve this. I tried a lot of things but couldnot manage.
Anyone helps? I am waiting helps, thank you
OK. I just recently got stuck in the same situation and this is how I solved it:
1. Download and install official B517: http://www.mediafire.com/download/vh3aqdx5608ubb8/U8800V100R001C00B517G001+%28Beta1.0%29%28Overseas+Normal%29%28Gingerbread%29.zip
2. After installing, if it boots then that is good, but if it doesn't boot then it still doesn't matter. Mine didn't boot, so I went into pink screen by turning off the phone, and then pressing vol +, vol -, and power at the same time to go into pink screen.
3. When you go into pink screen, connect your phone to Windows PC (Windows 7 or 8 should work).
4. Download cwm recovery 6.0.2.8: https://code.google.com/p/forumber-projects-for-u8800/downloads/detail?name=recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.8-2.6.35.7-u8800.img&can=2&q=
5. When you connect pink screen phone to computer, a removable disk will come up. Go into the removable disk and you will see recovery.img there. Now, rename the cwm recovery you downloaded above to recovery.img (if you cannot see .img at the end then just type recovery). After renaming to recovery.img, copy the downloaded cwm recovery.img to the removable disk, and replace the old recovery.img in the removable disk.
6. After replacing stock recovery.img with cwm recovery.img, you will have CWM Recovery 6.0.2.8. Now, you can go into recovery to install a ROM. Make sure you install Aurora 5.0 experimental first.
I have tried to keep the steps simple. If you follow them you should be fine. If you don't understand anything then please ask and I will try to reply. I cannot reply right now because it is time for me to sleep, so you will have to wait

You cannot see the system size from the android settings. Besides that, I don't know how to see if system is partition.
The partition you have posted is data partition (the top one), and the bottom one is your internal sdcard. From that, all I can see is that you have data partition, and not system partition.
I guess the only way of finding out if you have system partition is to flash a big ROM. If the ROM starts up fine then you don't need system partition, but if the ROM doesn't start up then you need system partition.
By the way, what ROM do you have now? Does your phone work fine?

After I post this thread I rebooted my phone and suddenly i work (with android 4.4 layout which i have installed earlier and bricked my phone). But when i put SIM card in it, it can't startup, stuck at the welcome and keep rebooting. What should i do? Flash the original stock firmware?

I think the rom is not installed correctly.. try installing it again by doing these steps..
1.Install the stock rom and then install percy_g2 CM #2 kernel via ODIN
2.After completion switch of phone and..go to recovery (press volume up+ home + power)
3.Go to mounts and storage and format system, data and cache
4.Go back and wipe data and cache
5.Again go to mounts and storage and mount system, data, cache and sd card.
6.Go to install zip>choose zip and select the rom
7.Wait for the installation to get completed.
8.After the installation is completed,go back and wipe data (don't wipe the cache partition this time)
9.Select 'Reboot system now'
10.Wait for the rom to get booted

Yes install the kernel that way.. then install your kitkat Rom through cwm recovery like i said in the steps

Phone asking for password to open the phone after flashing liquid remix pie

I tried formatting Data I tried formatting internal storage, didn't work. I tried putting the password "default_password" it worked but then the phone said my phone is broken and if to format it. If I say yes it boots to twrp and shows an error message and auto restarts quickly after. And goes to the same password screen. I tried only flashing the ROM and twrp and that also didn't work. I tried flashing stock via the mi tool and then the custom ROM, that didn't work either and ofc only flashing stock works. Can somebody help me? How can I fix this??
SOLVE: wipe data, and if that didn't work (which it didn't this time for me) flash stock and then use a pass code, boot into twrp and you'll probably need to enter the pass code, press on back then wipe then advanced wipe and then wipe data and storage. Reboot recovery, if you don't see the pass code any more that's good, that means you removed the encryption. Liquid remix requires the device to not be encrypted to flash the rom without problems and maybe your rom does too.
I had this issue, the only way (at least for me) is you need to wipe internal storage in twrp as well.
Boot into twrp, there should be an option to format data(it is not the same as wipe data) and after selecting it you need to type yes and then reboot.

And format data? Not in advanced wipe, it's besides it.

When he said "Will people ever start reading the OP of each thread?" I think he was talking about you XD because you told me to format internal storage and that was one of the first things I said I done in the post and I fixed the issue before the guy told me to format data in a different way
Here is what i wrote as a step by step :

Hi guys,
...
As i've compiled durong days and weeks all the necessary information before doing anything, i share here for everyone who not sure how to proceed the steps i've followed and the links to the resources.
Feel free to correct, complete or delete wrong steps or make it easier to understand, the goal is to help people as we liked someone do/did it for us.
-- if this can help, use this in other threads, copy it, share it : it's useless if we don't use it --
0. Remove screen locks before flashing (pin, fingerprint...)

4. Make sure drivers are installed correctly on your pc and adb install
5. Save the cosmic dan TWRP fastboot_boot_only.zip in the adb folder (check twice to download the right twrp !!!)
5. Turn off ur phone.
6. Now press and hold voume down+power button to start on download mode
7. connect the phone to the pc/laptop

10. if your phone reboot, restart it on download mode as previously and enter adb again
11. in order to reboot on twrp, run the following command : fastboot boot boot-recovery.img (the file must be on adb's folder)
12. in twrp -> Wipe->Format data : type YES. Then, go to wipe -> advanced wipe and wipe cache, data and system
13. return to Reboot menu in twrp and change partitions, wipe as previously

if people have this problem they probably are not on stock so that means no need for all that unlocking bootloader process, It's very simple, just format data and storage if that doesnt work do what I did and I know formatting data and storage works because it worked for me once

I think more is better : it's not that hard for people to read my post and start in the point they want, in that case, point 12. But you're right, you said exactly the same as me but your comment i better...
