Hello.
I have currently on my Arc S the Ice Bean 4.2 custom ROM. This runs very smoothly. However I actually overclocking me cpu. I currently use the default builduser kernel.
Now I wondered, if i downgrade my device to the SE standard ROM with Android version 4.1. b. 0.587 in combination with Android 4.0.4. What custom Kernel can I use for overclocking and must go hand in hand with the Ice Bean ROM?
And even then a question: suppose I clock with 1.4 GHZ cpu over to 1.6 GHZ, I can therefore always panned him or should I back him switch to 1.4 GHZ.
Thanks
You Are Upgrading Your Phone .. Not Downgrade :silly:

Hello,
Acer A500, running latest FlexReaper (R12).
I would like to change the voltage of the processor
(specially when screen is off, and wifi is off : I switch off the wifi when tablet is sleeping)
with Voltage control and SetCpu it seem that I can't
is it a kernel limitation ?
I don't find other kernel easy to install, without changing the rom
any help would be great
Olivier
Hey orobin. It's a limitation of the kernel right now. You can't overclock or underclock flexreaper right now. Currently there are no kernels available to do this unless you try Thor's ICS rom which can be found on tegraowners. No overclockable ICS roms on XDA though.
I was under the impression that the 3.0 kernel was a pretty core part of the ICS update. However, the 4.0.3 update still have the 2.6.39.4 kernel on my tablet.
Is this because the update has gone slightly wrong, or has Acer kept us on 2.6 for some reason (like some other manufacturers)?
meant 4.4 lol
anything for nook color kitkat wise? i see several custom roms for other devices that are currently 4.4 alpha and such. looking for the same thing for NC.
(NOTE) : BTW for those who dont know. found a new kernel on here that boosts cm 10.2 to perform at 1.2 ghz. works well and makes cm MUCH smoother. other than the occasional unwarranted reboot.
I've gone through a ton of roms and Darkys 9.5 is the fastest and easiest to use
The only problem is I cant find a Kernel that allows me to overclock more than the stock 1Ghz using this rom.
Can anyone help?
On MIUI or Cyagenmod I got it to run at 1.5 or 1.6Ghz no problems and it makes a HUGE difference to the usability of the phone.
Basically need a Froyo kernel that allows over-clocking and preferably vodooo sound and color.

Nice. Thanks. I will do a backup and try it tomorrow.
Only goes up to 1.3GHz and doesn't seem to support voodoo color or sound from what i can tell thought.
Any info on what state the file systems (aka lagfix) need to be before flashing to this kernel?
I found this old tablet last week after years. I know it is super old, but I was wondering if there are better rom than Stock ICS roms, rooted, deodexed, zipaligned?
I think it's hard for a dual core with 700mb ram... but who knows?
thanks
Try AOSP 7.1.2 from decatf
Install ROM without gapps, better performance.
Install pphsu for root
Install Kernel auditor for OC CPU to max 1400 MHz.
