Don't know if I'm posting this in the correct forum, but I wanted to post about how well n64oid runs on kf. Not sure if you would have to be rooted, I am , but if you want to take a trip back to the n64 days, I have had great luck with it. I downloaded it from mediafire, and side loaded it, and have been getting Roms from getyourrom.com. you can download the roms straight from the kindle without haveing to use the computrr at all. super Mario 64 runs great, and is actually very playable with the touch screen controls. Hope this post will help anyone who has been looking for one.
I would reccommend:
Super Mario 64
Starfox.64
Banjo kazooie
all the classics are on getyourrom.com

I can't get any downloads to work. Do I need to register with that site in order to get ROMs?
Ok, when I try to download a ROM it will act like its downloading then it will say download complete but the ROM file is basically an empty file.
I have tried two different browsers.
Your thoughts?
I download the Roms straight from the Link Removed after you click the Rom you want, a timer will appear then when its done, click download and it will. After pull up, n64oid and click your Rom. Hope this helps.

FSM Edit - I have removed the link for the website allowing you to download emulator Roms, this contributs towards warez.
I use firefox on the kf, and no you do not have to register. I'm not a member. I have noticed you have a daily download limit as a non member but its a pretty large amount.

Hello,
Thank you for responding.
I am using Opera browser and it is working now.
Stock browser and Boat Browser both didn't work for some reason.
Hit thanks

I get very good performance of N64oid on the Kindle, rooted of course. Using the emulator on the stock OS resulted in intermittent lag but still good. On the rooted Kindle setting the CPU governor to performance and setting max frequency to 1008MHz delivers "almost" picture perfect emulation, no audio or animation stutters. I only did that set up for test purposes as I don't like running the performance gov for very long.....especially at 1GHz.....really don't like it at 1.2!
.....when you hit the walls of sanity, you have no-where to go.....
I need the link please post it for me then remove it again please I wanna lay !y chi

I downloaded Sonic CD and it loaded fine without errors, but it does not play fullscreen. So it's pretty much unusable at this time. Would a build.prop edit fix this? Any other suggestions?

Works fine for me on CM7. It seems to work for some and not for others. Try adjusting your lcd density?
I found a solution and posted it in the thread mentioned in the last post. ^

Thank you; great idea. Now, just can't seem to get the SD card files to load from within the app. :-( Seems to be a common reason why this app is getting some pretty bad reviews.
So the wife has been asking for a solution on watching videos hulu.com on the tablet, but afaik it doesn't work on any current browser. After putting my mad Google skill to work, found a paid app for $.99 called Flash Video Browser (buy it on Amazon cause Google market will show not compatible) which does the job.
http://www.amazon.com/Daniel-Lockard-Flash-Video-Browser/dp/B006IHK9PK
I even tried it on my Nook Color and it works there too.
Check out civatos hulu flash installer....not positive but I think it will work with any rom and it installs hulu app so you don't have to use a browser......you could also flash his rom flexstriker along with above and watch hulu from stock browser.......if you wanna stay stock skyfire works if you set it to desktop and its free

Tried Civato's ROM with hulu flash, movies work fine but for tv shows, it just die out after the commercial. Beside, I needed a solution that will work on multiple tablets and this app seems to fit the need.
There is a apk floating around that works you just install it sorry I need to find it again so if someone finds it post URL please
Anywho it works well watched terra nova no problems works with all android devices!

downloading that hulu apk, thanks a ton for that! also, TC, its not quite as extensive as hulu plus but you could always go for crackle. its on the market, its free, and its actually quite good with a decent library (although small compared to netflix and hulu) but its full episodes and movies for free as long as you can live with the occasional commercial.

To get hulu to work on my rooted iconia, I took the " /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/libflashplayer.so" and opened it in a hex editor on my computer. Where I found "AND" followed by a version number I replaced it with "WIN". I then put the modified file back on the tablet in a different directory. I use script manager to run a script that replaces the existing file with the modified file whenever I start the tablet. I also changed the UA string for the browsers I am using to use "desktop". For the stock browser, you type "about:debug" to getting the settings that allow you to so.
I found information about doing this on other forums. Script for copying is below. You need to set execute permissions on libflashplayer.so after you put it back on the tablet. I used Es file manager in root mode to get access to everything.
cp /data/flashhack/libflashplayer.so /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/libflashplayer.so
Ok folks, so I rooted and got CM7 up and running on my KF.
I am coming from my evo that has cm on it, and know what works well. I was wondering if we could get some input here as to what apps people really love for their kindle.
What apps suit the Kindle more so than other devices etc?
Basically....if you have a kindle fire...what apps or games can you not live without?
Kindle app is a must have
Wunderlist task manager, Evernote(note taking app), ComicRack eComic reader, EZ PDF Reader, Sketchbook Mobile
Screen Dim is a must to reduce the screen brightness while reading.
File Expert is the perfect file explorer.
Wifi explorer pro is top notch for file transfers
DROPBOX hands down incredible

Thanks for the screen dim suggestion!!!!!!!! Awesome

If you want games then here is a couple.
Tanked(3D multiplayer tank game lots of fun)
Fruit ninjas puss in boots.
Tank hero.
keep em coming....love the suggestions...the dimmer is very handy
Best Volume Widget
Touchscreen Booster
Go Launcher
Root Explorer
XDA Premium (duh, lol)

SPB Shell 3D...runs you a cool $15 but it's well worth it if you have multiple devices.

I actually prefer Box to Dropbox nowadays. The major reason is that I got a free upgrade to 50gigs.

Never mind. Did a titanium backup of spb on my phone, transferred it to the kindle and restored it. Changed interface to tablet and away I go!

I tried SPB Shell a while ago and had a lot of FC issues. That and it just seemed way over-priced to me.
any way to make adw ex look better? i have it and like it but the ensity hack is no where near as good as go launcher. but i dont want to use go launcher because i cant customize it the way i want
Netflix and Remote VNC Pro. I use them every day.
Don't forget KeePass for managing your passwords and credentials.
Store the KeePass database in your Dropbox folder to sync it across multiple devices.
Castle Wars is also a very fun game!
Craigslist has an app which is very useful and saves your searches and constantly updates them...very cool to keep up with steals ya na what i mean
also, i dont recommend the facebook app...it's always been very trashy from my user experience both on the phone and kf
teamviewer is also a very very useful app to access your home based computer or work based computer and email files through the net which you forgot to put in your cloud maybe
All great apps on my phone, but even better with the Kindle Fire's excellent audio and video:
Netflix, YouTube, MX Video Player, Google Maps, Google Earth, YouVersion, IP Cam Viewer, RealVNC Viewer, Unified Remote, ADW Launcher.
Need a build prop that is compatible to run order and chaos for the fire running CM9. Any help would be appreciated

Any time I had issue with getting an app to work. I'd buy it off my GSII or Amaze. Then back up the APK and push it to my Mytouch 4G Slide. You bought it, so there's nothing wroung with pushing it to another device. As long as its yours.
::HTC Doubleshot:: Virt. Inq v2.
I had to uninstall Hellfire CM7 and ReloadedROM CM9 because neither one allows me to install any of the "Kindle Fire Edition" games that i bought off amazon store.
In addition, most of the games don't show up in google play store either. My phone can't download them as it says not compatible either so I have no way to officially download the games that I bought.
I think we have to use MODACO ROM for now. It is the only usable ROM if you want to watch movies, use Play music and play the games for Kindle Fire without frustration. No CM7 or CM9 that I have tried can do any of this as well as MODACO.
If anyone can come up with a way for the games to work please let us know it would make those great ROMS worth using. I know the HWA will be solved soon with the new kernel, so maybe that would fix most trouble?
Idk I love the ics cm9 Roms just need to games to follow Me there.... that's what's holding me back

You are awesome! Thanks for finding this. I just got my Nexus 7 back from being RMA'd. I upgraded to Kit Kat and yes, this works!!!
You DO have to make sure flash is turned ON and not set to "On Demand" in Dolphin browser.
Also, if you install the Jetpack add-on while having Dolphin browser open, then you need to close Dolphin and re-open it after Jetpack is installed or else, flash videos won't work.
Once I got it all installed, I went straight to Amazon Instant Video and brought up last night's episode of American Horror Story. That is ONE twisted show!
Thanks again for posting this link!
