Or use Chrome, which is also included as a system app in the new DLH8 JB OTA leak. Chrome natively supports flash.

Chrome on mobile explicitly doesn't support flash. You're thinking of the desktop application which does indeed have it built in.

Your right, my mistake. Wasn't thinking of the desktop application though, I read that flash will indeed be supported on Galaxy S3's running JB and assumed it was because they are replacing the touchwiz browser with chrome.

Works great with Firefox, no tweaks! Dolphin, must delete your preferences, reload and it works.
Chrome it doesn't work, it's like the default browser.
Sticking with Firefox here for those sites. Plus the add-ons for it ain't bad and it feels light unlike Dolphin.

Hey...a couple browser issues:
1. Given my appreciation of Chrome I had reason to expect Froyo browser performance to live up to Google's 'fastest mobile browser ever claim'. I think its faster than 2.1 browser but not at all faster than Skyfire and other browsers in the Market. (Based on avg. time it takes to download certain sites).
2. Hey guys how can we experience the 'full glory of web pages if the browser uses mobile versions of sites?...Despite having desktop user chosen? Any tricks I need to be aware of?
thanks
Look up how skyfire works, that is why it renders pages faster, same with opera.
Yeah well Opera fir sure....much poorer rendering of pages....
Skyfire not so sure....those pages are as sharp as stock.
Opera. Mini and skyfire use outside servers to view the pages, tub rerender them for mobile. This is why nothing secure, I.e. banking should be done with them. Opera mobile, fennec, IE mobile, and Google (nexus one stock) browsers. Render within the phone. Not sure about steel though.

Good info...didn't know.
I believe on android skyfire, only uses servers for video, web is done on the same framework as the stock browser.

Type "about:debug" into the URL bar and hit "Go" on the keyboard [the arrow won't work]. Then go to settings > UAString [at the bottom] and change to Desktop. Unfortunately this isn't a permanent solution because it resets back to Android at the end of the session. For more convenient switching we're going to have to wait for CM6 and other Froyo based ROMs.
Why would you want to use a desktop version of a site if there is a mobile version available, thats STUPID
Probably because mobile versions are often lacking content.

This is the dumbest comment ever made on a forum... I salute you ftw on that.... not to be rude but seriously ...
Desktop is way better. I hate mobile versions.

This is true. SkyFire for Android only proxy's the Video content. They didn't take the time to build a full blown browser for Andoird. They bought the Steel Browser to work as the base of theirs and just changed it up for the video proxy.

I don't get your post
But it is stupid to want to use a desktop version of a site on a mobile device, thats like trying to use Win 7 on your nexus!
The claim wasn't about rendering speed but for javascript performance
Mobile versions if websites miss content.
The few I saw before changing to desktop didn't allow pinch and zoom either.
In fact they couldn't be resized at all.

Like what?
I get that mobile versions may be missing content, but that just means that the developers of those site need to do their job better
What I don't get is how having a website specifically designed for type of device you are using is a bad thing?
If you Disable flash The browser is much faster!

I was skeptical at first... I never figured we could handle something like flash. This is a pretty big step if we can.

Stock Eris ROMs have flash, it's called HTC Flash. We just have the requirements that Adobe put out for 10.1
I have to wonder how many others are refreshing this page, wondering when a dev will say if this is useful lol.

My old Verizon HTC Touch played Hulu videos on Skyfire perfectly before Hulu blocked us from using it. Also, for some reason, it handled other flash sites better than my wife's Droid with 2.2 and 10.1.

HTC Flash is "Flash Lite" it's hardly full 10.1 flash.
video doesnt seem real, theres cuts in the video before and after he touches the screen
Im pretty sure it's real.. I think those "cuts" are just flash being somewhat laggy on his phone...
There is already a flash 10.1 for the eris flying around I have a copy on my computer i believe I'll post it when i get home.
EDIT:Here it is guys, but it only works on the stock browser, im guessing thats why it didn't catch much attention.

I think its full flash, I can play flash games on site and stuff without problems, only thing is that its a little slow and can only be used on stock browser on htc roms because it uses something that flash lite uses on the htc browser.

there is only partial Flash 10 support in Android 2.1. So until we get FroYo, that's what we got.
Skyfire doesn't work. So we have to wait. Thanks all of you.

According to an article on Engadget, Adobe is releasing their 10.2 version of FlashPlayer for Android. From what I can tell when reading the press release Adobe will release Flashplayer for Xoom (Honeycomb) and also for Android 2.2 and 2.3.
Perhaps we can use this FlashPlayer as well.
Also this version of FlashPlayer should use multiple cores and work very well with devices such as the Xoom and LG Optimus 2x (which both have Tegra).
Fingers crossed...

Facebook flash games does somehow startup better, but the controls in the games seems very wrong or simply not compatible..
but it works and video playback here on danish dr1 seems better now, although quality still is rather pooer, but sync seems ok now..
and yes,
looking at the binaries it seems that adobe has developed alot more for honeycomb than 2.2/2.3, library is alot bigger.

Hopefully this will not work.
Flash player is proprietary software with closed code and security bugs every other day.
I am not using Flash since years now and everything is fine. Better contact the website developers not to use flash on their websites anymore and change to HTML5.
The big players like Facebook or YouTube they are not using Flash anymore since ages.
