Samsung Galaxy S Anycall Not booting - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi
My cousine bought a new Samsung Galaxy s Anycall for 2 weeks ago. He is only 12 and obviously very keen on trying things, so he decided to upgrade his firmware. What i think he did wrong is to use the wrong firmware. If i understand the Sticky threads and Faqs on this forum correctly, then Anycall has a different firmware then the regular Samsung Galaxy S (correct me if i am wrong). Anyhow, the result is that the phone boots, loads the Samsung logo and then loads the Android Green logo, and just stays there. After attempting to flash the phone with Odin and a firmware suggested by one of the guides n this forum, it now boots into a window where it says something like UPGRADE and something else in chinese or korean. I would appritiate if someone could give me a link to a propar guide on how to get my cousines cell phone up and running again.

Common guys, nobody can answer?

Did u try flashing a kernal.

For example : I f**ed my phone by upgrading to ics and flashing a Gingerbread kernel ( no touch screen response) , also when I had my sgs vibrant you have to look at The first 3 letters in the baseband I think mine was uvk, match that up with roms and kernels. through trial and error I final got it right

need help, galaxy tab i987 stuck on error with triangle and !

tried to update my Galaxy Tab (original i987 model) and now ive got this error screen. i know absolutely NOTHING in regards to how to re-flash/install new roms/etc. my knowledge begins and ends with 'you need the program Odin'
can someone give me a step by step to bringing my tablet back to life?

Can you get the tab into download mode? i.e. switch off completely; then power on whilst holding the volume down button.
If you can then you can use Odin and the instructions in the Overcome ROM Install Guide to flash the tab back to stock

One other thing I forgot to put in my previous post was a link to this thread about unbricking...
the one-click unbrick managed to get it back to the download screen, but i think i still need to reinstall the firmware, and i cant seem to find the i987 firmware anywhere, just the p1000. nevermind the fact i dont know how to use Odin to reinstall anyway
you just need to download odin and get a stock rom to flash and you'll get out of this problem
where can i find a stock rom? all the links ive found so far are down. do i need a pit file (actually...what is a pit file vs the tar file?)
sorry to ask so many n00b questions.
Read read read man! 6hrs b4 I even attempted a flash and still bricked it 6 times!
You are not in a bad spot yet. Just don't put something one the device if it wasn't made for it.

Desperation combined with panic will hard brick a device. Calm questions (rational thinking ) and organization on your part will get it to the point of ur desire

In my previous post (#2) I provided the Overcome link. Use it. Read the guide. Download the stock files. Flash.
Simple.

Whats different between i9500/i9505 and i9505G ?

HI. I want to buy unlocked s4 for my g-f and dont know what i should choose and why. Whats different ... ?
Me too... just got one from tmobile.. how do i know what version do i have?
Thanks you

i9500 is the exynos octa core version without 4G. i9505 is the Snapdragon quad core version with 4G enabled. The i9505G has different software from Google, but has same internals as i9505.
Id say if you do not care about developer support or 4G, go for the i9500. Otherwise, go for the i9505 which is the more popular variant.

Samsung Galaxy S4 USA variants come with LTE 4G network and is available on different carriers across the US.
SGH-M919 – for T-Mobile USA (so you got a Tmobile version)

I will share a big, top level secret, hidden deeply by Samsung: go to settings, more, about device, and take a look on the model number.

Could you ask yourself WHY there are different sections? Yes, young Einstein, because the ROM's are not compatible without messing with repartitioning and bootloader change.

You shall be on the subforum appropriate for your device. I would recommend you to search the XDA forums (there is a special tool for it). If you are unable to do such (may be complicated and frustrating especially if you did not graduated from the Primary School) use this link

Hi,
Unfortunately it's not recommended to try repartitioning your bootloader, after all it can brick your device. And because of such there's no working on this area. I wouldn't risk try installing a 9505 ROM on 9505G, but you can ask for better feedback on the Q&A thread .

OK, so you have opposite situation.
In that case you need to do the flashing with the repartitioning. There are several threads related with that, even in this subforum.
If I'd be you, I'd use the PIT file (if your phone is 16GB edition, if not, do not hesitate to find another one by yourself) fro the thread: "Unroot/Unbrick, Flash official stock firmware on Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 & I9505 " which can be easily found, with the ROM of the choice.
Reason of the repartitioning: the google edition has completely different partitions size, including the system partition (google edition is smaller), therefore the flash will be unsuccessful in best case.
Worse case scenario: you will have bricked phone.

[Q] Best Buy Flash

I messed up my MF3 rom and now my phone is bricked. I need to sales rep at the samsung center at best buy to flash it but on boot my S4 shows the custom boot with a lock unlocked on it. I AM STUCK IN A BOOT LOOP. Anything I can do? Any stories I can tell? I was going to tell them I got the phone online and updated it via OTA update and then it got bricked, but idk PLEASE HELPP!
Can you boot into recovery? If so go into it, do a wipe and try flashing the ROM again. Alternatively, you can flash stock using Odin to return it back to stock and recover warranty. Theres a thread around here that tells you how, called "how to unroot/unbrick your phone" something along those lines.

Need to post in the at&t forum for help not the international forum. A quick fix is stated in the at&t forum but you'll be updated to the newest mj6 firmware but the good thing is you won't have to take it to best buy and have them fix it, you can do it from the comfort of your own home. Bad thing is its a leaked official version but its very stable and you won't be able to root it yet but you'll get your phone back to normal.

I think that's just for the i9500 and the i9505? Which is international he needs to look at the att forum and that guide you gave him even states not to use it on any other device besides those two listed.

I was kinda hoping maybe a forum member had one lying around. That way I know its a reliable and verified source.. I hate using file hosts that limit your DL speed and amount of downloads per hour.. For example the second link in ibuprofen's response limits to 1 DL per hour AMD when I got to the link ASA it started to DL I hit my home button and lost the DL.. Tried to DL again and said to many connection s try again later lol

Let us know if you find it, I'm in the same boat and trying to find a legit and "Actual" Stock ROM for the SM-S975L is Dangerous business, guaranteed to make you become Postal! Made the standard nand backup of course but go figure, when you need storage to work it always seems to spit Corrupt out at you !!??
The model #s can't change from one to another; i.e. sml to sgh. To confirm the phone motherboard's actual model #, boot into download mode.

Before flashing anything, I recommend confirming the model # in download mode.
Check my signature for the stock ROM. Links are there
