Dunno if it's going to work for the Note 2 launch.

Seems like it will be not until Thu afternoon for Brisbane and Taipei... Can't wait to find out!!!!

I wonder if it will be a BIG update from the note or it will be just a fluke...
the thing is with quad core processor and fancier things on the phone...the battery won't last that much...

I hope that after the presentation will give a good boost to our note

are u sure on that??
because, S3 is bundled on similar lines with an awesome battery backup. I know its small in size than Note 2, but the battery in Note series is always tad higher compared to the galaxy series and so "battery won't last that much" is just a perception that might not be true

21:30?
damn do I have to wait that long?!

I guess the livestream of the samsung unpacked event for tomorrow will be broadcasted in one of these links.

When the next samsung flagship is released we will have to wait 2-4 months. Then we will have the Note II or what they are going to call it. But the Note is a bigger succes then they expected, so we might see 5.0" + phones from HTC, Motorola, LG etc. And maybe even apple. So lets wait and see. But I know that it will be very hard to use a samller screen once you have owned this phone.
I think I would... but I'm not going to jump as one of the early adopters.. NO, not just yet...
I had learned my lesson before.. early adopters or the early to acquire the 'unit', the more you tend to experience some of the first hand bugs that came on it...
I tend to hold off till maybe the 2nd or 3rd batches before I'll try to purchase it. In that way, I'll know what are the underlying bugs and kinks the first batches would bring.. (as usually the case maybe.)

Same here. After years of switching phones every other month I have finally found my perfect device that suits me. I've had mine since release day and havent thought of another device.
In my opinion this is in the same league as my favorite devices. Original blackberry bold and htc hd2.

Smaller screen= a downgrade
Most of the users of Gnote will have trouble adapting to a smaller screen. Used dell streak for many months and then even gsII was not good enough.
My next move would be note II
Sent from my GT-N7000
i couldnt find any reason to change my phone.
Can't think of any reason to move to a smaller display size
Will for sure wait for note ii

lets be honest... once you get over the "i feel like a dork" hurdle using your note in public, there is nothing to admire about a phone with a smaller screen

I even wished the screen was a little bigger!
So a big No No
how i wish to keep my signature from expanding....alas....galaxy...filthy...galaxy!!!
I think here at the Galaxy Note Forums will tell you that, most will NOT get the SGSIII because we are all waiting for that 1080p, quad core processor on the Galaxy Note 2. It just seems right
can not comback smaller screen .i still happy with my Note
Unless it offers the same screen as Note. Otherwise, it will be hard to switch. Also, Note is very different than the rest of the phone so far.
I believe now that to me, the screen size is a major consideration for me.
why would I do that?
I change my phone only if next one is really better and SIII is a great phone for ppl that don't have Note

Galaxy Note going to get the same features as the S3 with ICS update?

Thats my main question... Cause I really want the Galaxy Note. HUGE 5.3" screen is awesome, but I love the new features coming to the S3, like wireless charging, or taking pictures @ the same time as recording a video. So if some features from the S3 are coming to the Galaxy Note I will get the Galaxy Note cause I love big Screens!

Wireless charging? that require hardware modifications so it is up to you if you want to add that yourself using one of the guides that you can find by searching xda.
About the software, a lot will be ported to the note eventually but don't expect anything to come out of Samsung. They won't be able to sell the new galaxy s3 if you can find most of its features somewhere else ie in the note.

Never going to happen. As the first reply suggests, it would be marketing suicide for the s3 if Samsung gave an older and cheaper product with already brilliantly unique perks (Note) the same software as their latest product (s3).

wireless charging needs hardware mod or something in the backplate to work
So a big no.
Sammobile just posted first S3 rom. Hopefully full TW port should happen soon
Damn... Ok thanks guys that does make sense since tehy do want everyone to move and buy new devices! I hope someone is able to port the Camera over!

Question is what kind of wireless charging is on S3. If there's some kind of dock then this is useless.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
from what ive heard
wireless charging is only 6inches in radius
not that fancy ^^
i think most other s3 stuff could be ported to note and nexus

Should I buy it???

I know its on personal requirements but if someone can suggest...
I am an engineering student (age 20) having galaxy s2 bought 4 months ago,, i wonder if it will be a good decision to buy note 2...i mean that is it usable...not too big to use as a phone ???
Or should i wait till next year for something like galaxy s4...??

Up to you but you wont see anything better until next year around this time when note 3 comes.. from my personal experience and from most of note 1 owners once you use the note for several days you CAN NOT use anything smaller..

This.
Going to anything smaller just doesnt work anymore.
And even though most of my friends and family who say they'll never get one, can't seem to put down my phone when i come over. I think they are waiting for the day their contract is up :cyclops:
What about the s3?
Also I think this might belong in the q and a section instead.
i tried the note 1 liked got use to the size but was bit issues with pocket for me..i dont wear tight jeans..try it out and you can always return it like i did..new note 2 sure is a nice device i just got a GS3 when it came out here in US was the lucky few to grab one before anyone else..i dont really even talk much on the phone..mostly a data user
I would recommend the note 2 definitely.
I started on an iphone 3g to iphone 4. I found about custom themes/roms on android then got a galaxy s2. the s2 dominated apple iphones. when I saw the note 1 come out I was like sweet, my priority is web/movies. when I got the note 1 I couldn't put it down. I would never downgrade in size, but that's because I use it primarily for facebook, the web and movies. unfortunately I hard bricked it awhile ago installing a wrong zip file
so I can't wait till the note 2 comes out. I will be all over it like a fly on sh!t
I would recommend it. I had an iPhone up until spring this year when I went to HK and bought a SGN1 and now whenever I handle my iphone I just can't get used to that small screen anymore. The large screen area of the SGN really makes a huge difference. Even though my SGN1 is only 6 months old I feel it had some shortcomings (primarily lag related) which should be rectified with the SGN2.
I agree. Once you have the Galaxy Note, you can never go back to a smaller screen. I was hoping the Note 2 would be 6". *sigh*
cant wait for galaxy note 2 to come out and very disappointed with Samsung as always they delay the product by 5-6 weeks after they show it,they should put it as soon as possible to get the customers and look crapple they going to rls next week and they only show it on the 12 damn crap iphone and hate that piece of crap widget phone, then next one will be Samsung Galaxy S5 by the time [18 months contract finish]
Most probably s4 is coming on Feb 2013...so i will go for that.
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/tech/2012/09/133_120024.html
It will have 5“ display and will definately be beaster than note 2.

You have to ask yourself one question. What is it going to do that your current phone doesn't do already?
4 months into a contract; really?

I've had 3 galaxy note ( 1st model) and i can say that galaxy ote is one of the greatest phones every. don't care about the screen. it's wonderful even if is very big.but you will be proud to have it in your pants.
I see more and more people using their phone not for calling/speaking to others, but for music, Web Browsing, Social media and watching media content. Adding to all this, even if you call others very frequently, people use bluetooth headsets or hands-free. So, I tend to feel that the 'Galaxy Note being too big' argument doesn't hold water anymore. As long as you can figure out a way to fit into your pocket, or keep it safe when you move around, it is definitely a sure to have phone.
I'm changing from S2(i9100) - S2(i9100G) - Galaxy Note(N7000)... then now i'm waiting for Note 2...
can't really go back to smaller screen, hurts my eyeballs
and also hooked on Super Amoled.... LCD are just not that level... :fingers-crossed:

Like all the Note's before?! October?
I dont know I am not too excited for this time? Probably cz I am not expecting too many surprises. Lets see.
Sent from the New S Pen
I'm not excited at all for this new version. We've seen what new Samsung has to offer on the S4.
Honestly, I use to upgrade like every year to a new phone, but my Note 2 is still so super cool and useful (and still powerful), that I don't think I'll upgrade until next year...
Nonetheless, all the best to the compulsive buyers and Note-New-Commers

The rumor mill can finally stop. The N3 is in the video posted above. Here's some caps. The reviewer said it's thinner, lighter, and smaller than the N2 even though it has a 5.7" display. I love the floating apps. They've been in the Note 10.1 since it launched while all other Notes have the same set up as the N2. You can do a lot more with floating apps than you can with two set windows. Now all that's left is to learn what the new features are.
Looks pretty cool to me.

And when is that coming out? Do you know for sure that there will even be a 2015 edition? If you are interested in not staying in a perpetual hold pattern waiting for the next tablet, you can look into this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/1...-through-ebay-daily-deals-for-389-99-260-off/
I just bought mine from that deal. 390 for the Note pro is a great price. This will hold me over for a while. If I want the next new Pro tablet, I will just wait for another good refurb deal again
Value is a subjective thing so only you can decide whether the wait is worth it. Given no details on release dates or specs, it's anyone's guess what is coming when.
Root of your question is whether or not the Note line of tablets follows an annual refresh cycle. For that one has to look at the history of the Note 10.1 line (for which I am unfamiliar).
Honestly I dont know but we all know that every year Samsung is realeasing a new product. But i get what yall saying thanks a lot

The NotePro isn't exactly a line-up as much as the Note or S line-up is. At least not yet. There's no way to know if there will be a next one. (If they do make one, I hope it's with sAMOLED...)
This one was announced in January. If we haven't heard anything by February, it's probably not going to happen.
But truthfully, other than the sAMOLED screen, a new version will have very little to add in terms of hardware. The S805 isn't such a great improvement over the S800, and since the Note 4 didn't come with 4GB the NotePro isn't going to get it either.

Depends how urgent you want one and which screen size you prefer and if you need the spen or not
I really hope they continue making 12inch. I rwally love this size but it doesnt seem to be popular
I bet it will be super popular when MS finally gets around to releasing a Android version of their Office products. That way the college kids will use it. (and I would sure use it for that too)
I'm wondering that comments always targeting the pro screen which I consider it as an strength not a weakness factor to this device.... By all means it's a great machine with a huge display and a lot of money to buy... Let I think it can fulfill my demands for at least one year more
