I have had my Nexus 7 for around 3 weeks, it was perfect, I was so happy with it and I had no problems with the screen lift/bleed like many other people. I knew it was risky to buy the first batch after all of the problems reported on these forums, but now my Nexus 7 has the blue and red stuck pixels that are only visible on a black background with the brightness turned up, I can also see them when I boot the tablet. I have added pictures below, although it makes it look like the screen is bleeding, it is not, it is just the way the photo was taken. I bought it from Tesco Direct so I have a week left to return it, should I or is it risky because I could get a device with even more faults?
Thanks
From those photos it looks like there is no problem at all. Where are we supposed to be looking? Are they in the middle of the screen?
The judgement call is yours. Can you live with the fault? If you can't take it back. The chances of repeatedly getting a dud are slim.

Yes. It is the purple streak, sorry for being unclear, this is my first post on this forum, I guess I should have circled it in red.
You could try one of the many dead pixel apps from google play

Never owned a IPS screen or so.
Is it normal to have yellow tint on the edges when having a black background ? When I have a white background its pure white ( saw someone with yellow tint on white background) .
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Nope. That is one of the problems that some users are facing. You should RMA your 7.
It would be pretty bogus if that was how ALL IPS screens were, lol.

True. After hours or researched. I came up with not much to go off by lol.
PC screens with IPS screens were saying that yellow tint were cause by a glue not being dry out evaporated yet and the more you use it they tend to just go away and get Better. I guess iPad 2 had similar problems. Most of them advice to use it more and they will go away so I might try that . I'd hate to be without this for a week to 2 weeks. But then again I got mine at Sams but their put and no way of knowing when they we will one.
Didn't happen doh until I got some heavy duty gaming last night. So might have gotten hot and was evaporating the left over glue? Lol correct me if I am wrong but that's what I gather so far..

I don't have it in mine and don't know much about it but my roommates IPS monitor NEVER had a yellow tint.
And Google will do an advanced RMA where they send you one and put a hold on your credit card until you send the other one back.

Well as many of you posted you had flawless Nexus I pulled the trigger but for my horror I got a Lemon.
First I thought I had only the screen lift but after two weeks It have started to develop Screen Flicker and the slightest screen bleed in the right corner... a black pixel line when I open a hard task or its charging something.... the screen not responding and the ghosting :banghead: to my other horror I can't return it cause my father bought it to me and I'm in Mexico so no return but I wanted to know what are Software related and what are hardware related

So the Screen Separation is Hardware as the Screen Bleed
But the flicker, the sudden line that I just see like one a day and the ghosting that goes away with a reboot are all hardware?! The HTC titan had the ghosting too and with an update it went away

Well actually the screen flicker can be fixed by running a script. Look for the thread that says screen washout out fix. It will disable the nvidia smart dimmer. And the screen lift can be fixed' Google it . And not sure what the this "ghosting" is.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Xparent White Tapatalk 2
Well first I don't know if when going from homescreen to homescreen and seeing the icons going from side to side it looks like it leaves a trace behind that disappears after a couple of milliseconds and I don't know if its just an animation or ghosting.....and second is after being in my social homescreen the white parts stay onscreen in the background until I reboot but that only happened once and never again

IIRC you used the clamp and heat method to try and reactivate the glue. Best of luck, but that approach has been temporary for most users.
And you telling him to Google it would almost certainly lead to him fiddling with the screws, which is even less effective than the clamping.
Here is the only fix known to work. It's a delicate procedure and I wouldn't recommend it unless your lift is severe, GalaxyDev.
Sorry for your troubles, but hopefully you can see past these flaws and enjoy the tablet as is. I'm sure this device is a rare sight in Mexico.
The only reason why I considered that is because my screen lift is so minor, its like a hair lifted so my guess is the adhesive needs rebonding.

Do you buys have light bleed from the top right of your screen? The way I see it clean as day is when my brightness is on full blast and a black screen. If you download the app screen test and test the colors what do u guys see?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
every nexus 4 i saw so far had light bleed from the top of the screen closer to the right edge. cant do much about it...
OK just making sure I'm not the only one. Thanks
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Yup me too. Glad to see im not alone. :good:
My first one didn't have it, but my RMA has one. Try the Paranoid Android rom. The color preferences in the new build are helpful in decreasing the bleed. Also Try themes which don't use black color bar like Lunar UI and Popstyle.
I tried to RMA the RMA but when I called the call center and said that I had a "light bleed" they din't understand a thing and I had to explain it myself. The reason I didn't RMA the phone because the employ pissed me off saying "have you tried to reboot the phone once again while charging it?"
Yes I noticed that right when I turned on the phone but those little thing doesn't really bother me.. I'm happy to own a nexus for just 400 bucks it saved me a couple hundred bucks which I used to pay my bills

I posted last night that there is this really small white dot on my screen. It only visible on light colors like white . But its not visible if the color is really dark. Like on you tube where the search option is it not visible but when i go to Facebook i can see right next to my notification but its small. Anyways is there a way for it to go away? This phone is only like a day old :/ & it was bigger last night but it got smaller because i played a video that repeated blue red and green fast because i heard it make stuck pixel go back to normal.
Also is it a dead pixel or stuck?
Return the phone if you can't live with it.

I'd RMA it, pretty sure they'll replace it free of charge. Although it's just a pixel, stuck and/or dead pixels annoy the crap out of me because once you notice them, you can't stop looking at them every damn time!

Depends on Google/LG's interpretation - Samsung don't except anything under 5 pixels as faulty

I just saw a white pixel on the middle of the screen but I can only appreciate it at dark, when screen is black and brightness set to maximum (which I never have on dark environment). Was that an issue for you? I really have to look for it for a while in any other case. Pixels are sooo small. Don't even bother to rma. No other issue with the phone.
I'm thinking it's just a pixel stuck in a grey colour because it so difficult to see.

tonight or tomorrox I'm gonna command a new one, I already called google.

I have the same issue but luckily it's right at the top under the notification bar so only see it very occasionally when I turn to landscape in Gmail or something.
I've already tried out 3 brand new Nexus 4's, and they all exhibit light bleed around the top right corner.
I know, I know; I'm being obsessive or nit-picky. But, just humor me for a second, and chime in on the topic....
Anybody got a Nexus 4 without any lightbleed whatsoever? You should be comfortable around 30-50% brightness and have no uneven backlighting around the top border....
Does a perfect Nexus 4 even exist?
Thanks fellas

Minor light bleed at the top & bottom.. although it is very minor. I really have to try to see it. I would say for a normal person, they would think it has "no light bleed". But to us perfectionists yes it's there.
I know this is asking a lot, but would someone with a perfect device mind posting a pic with your brightness turned up with your notifications dropped down?
No bleeding here either and I'm on Rev 11
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Lots of light bleed here in the top right corner. Nov 2012 version, rev10
Don't really care though.
No bleed and I bought mine at an insanely bright tmobile at sunset.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Maybe for some of the people who say they have a perfect device, just dont notice it or their brightness is too low..
someone, please, put my OCD worries to rest and snap a shot of your phone with no lightbleed with the notification dropped down with at least 50% brightness.
I will be in your debt.
