Hi guys! Just wanted to share my experience with the P6800. For weeks I've been using this as my main video player. I had an iPhone 4 & Galaxy Note before and currently sporting a Galaxy S3. Also had an iPad 2. I mentioned them because earlier today, just for fun, I copied a bluray video (The Pacific mini series episode 7 in 1080p bluray mp4 format). I just had to try and play the file in different gadgets all at the same time. I even included my Alienware M11x in the mix.
So there I was in my room, each gadget faced towards me with their respective stands. I asked my brother and sister to help me play them all at the same time. I was astonished to what I witnessed. So I am ranking the video playback according to how beautiful it is to watch on, and all of us 3 agreed. No picture or video will do justice on how beautiful the screen is on the P6800, you really need to be there personally to see its majesty.
Results (by ranking):
1. Galaxy Tab 7.7
2. Alienware M11x
3. Galaxy S3
4. iPad 2
5. Galaxy Note
6. iPhone 4
Reasons (my opinion at least):
Galaxy Tab was easily the best to view a video of that caliber. The colors were really streaking out of the screen and the level of detail was just amazing. M11x came second because although it was very crispy, the lack of color kinda ranked it below but I'm sure there are people who prefer less vivid and more realistic colors, its just that the 7.7 really made the scenes come alive. Galaxy S3 was next because it was like a tiny version of my 7.7. iPad 2 faired okay but pixelated from time to time even though it's already bluray and it lagged a bit. Galaxy Note... wow I expected more from this one but the black clipping/artifacts just turned me off, still good during daylight scenes though (I believe it is an issue for the Galaxy Note, Samsung please fix it with the Note 2). Lastly the iPhone 4, need I say more?
Anyway I am about to sell my 7.7 since iPad Mini is coming out and I really need an iDevice to keep in touch with my relatives since EVERYONE in my clan uses Apple products (which sucks since I love Samsung's products), just that I really need FaceTime (we converse a lot, its ridiculous LOL). I will surely miss the little fella, might buy it again though after getting the iPad Mini (unless it has retina display), just can't live without that beautiful screen! for now I'll just keep my S3 close by. Salute to the P6800 society! :good:

Same, I've overclocked the cpu to 1.6GHz 24/7 using Tegrak Overclock.
Also deleted & disabled MANY apps/bloatware using Titanium Backup.

2 more days before my verdict loving the screen as always hehe

Sure, refer to this site, it tells you what is safe to delete & what is not. Basically everything in green is safe to remove as long as you don't plan on using it!

The 7.7 screen is, indeed, awesome and that's why I made my mind early on about the 7.7.
My main hobby (...at a very advanced level...) is photography and there's simply no other tab around that features the contrast of the 7.7.
This said, I must point out that the white point of the display is quite "warm".
I would love for manufacturers to understand how critical image display can be for some users and come up with a in-built feature (...or a 3rd party app...) to allow for display calibration.

I use the standard setting.
Dynamic artificially boosts chroma and Movie dilutes contrast (a sign that they have little knack for naming, as contrast is, probably, the single most important item for cinematic purposes)

Also has green tint. Worse battery. Worse camera. Worse HD recording according to those "reviewers"
FM radio, etc etc.. only thing the nexus has going is software updates and bigger (albeit worse) screen.
I do not really like justifying purchases, but I do not like the Galaxy Nexus because of one reason:
There is no Micro SD card slot.
That kills it for me, all my Gameloft games already fill up my SGS2's internal SD, and I need space for my music and videos, so I'm sorry, I'm not willing to make that compromise.
Galaxy Nexus: 16gb or less
Samsung Galaxy S II: 16gb+32gb = 48gb (Y)
I would buy the galaxy s 2. It's better value for the money if you flash a nice ROM IMO.
Or wait for the S3. It's gonna be awesome

Eh? Is this a statement or question?
If you asking if it has one, or if you are saying it DOESN'T have one, then you're right; the international GS2 (I9100) actually doesn't have one, exactly. At least, not a dedicated search button, like a lot of other Android phones.
You have to long-press the Menu button to get search. This should work in all contexts. I just tried from Home screen, in the Gmail app, the Email app, and the browser.
Galaxy SII any day, it is the best Android...until GSIII arrives
You guys still on this just go buy a nexus already

lol, i believe there is a much more alive and busy thread in the nexus forums with the same question.
Having played with the Nexus it is not worthy enough to get rid of my GS2, however; if i were out shopping today for a new phone I would choose it over the GS2 for the updates and ICS.
Can't wait for ICS
I just bought the ATT LTE 8.9 and I wanted to know if anyone came from the 8.9 and is now on the 7.7.
I played with the 7.0 Plus and like the overall size, but I thought books and Magazines rendered better on the 8.9 vs the 7.0 Plus.
So the question is should I return the 8.9 and get the 7.7?
Thanks

I had the 7.0 plus briefly, and didn't like the narrowness of the screen in portrait for reading, etc. I find this screen to be pretty much perfect. It is also MUCH higher quality (resolution 1200 x 800). It is kinda bright, though. that would be my only complaint. I liked the 8.9, but the 7.7 is just so small, slim and sexy.
Oh, and it's very fast, especially with ADW, LP or something else besides the default home launcher.

I came from the international 8.9 myself, so I speak from personal experience when I say that there truly is no competition. Seriously, the 7.7 basically trumps the 8.9 in every way.
Better size.
Better battery life.
Better screen. (Better colour and contrast, though not as bright on average, but this is more than made up for in the previous two points)
Better performance.
Better graphics. Seriously, the Mali-400 is a beast.
Oh yeah, and it's a fully capable phone too. So yeah, again, better.
And before you make the "Yeah, but what about LTE?" argument, in short, LTE is pointless with the way things are currently, as I explain in further detail here.
Any questions?
I don't care about the LTE, I plan on tethering anyway.
Is there any reason to get the GSM version over the WiFi only?
Thanks

If you want to carry three devices around with you (hotspot, phone, and tablet) get the WiFi version.
If you want to carry two devices around with you (phone for tethering plus a crapload of batteries, and tablet) get the WiFi version.
If you want to consolidate everything all into one single device which has excellent battery life on its own and basically does it all (minus LTE), then get the 3G version.
Ok, thanks
I don't plan on using it that much on GSM, so I just bought the WiFi version.
Plan on using my Skyrocket if I need to be online outside of WiFi.
I just don't want to give ATT anymore money.

Heh, I hear ya there!! Congratulations on your purchase! Enjoy it!
Also, as a side note, might I suggest a very nifty little app called Tablet Talk? It uses Bluetooth or WiFi to sync SMS from your phone to your tablet, so you can read, respond to, or create texts from your tablet device. It even shows caller ID when your phone rings! Used it with my old 8.9 and it was very useful. Worth the purchase IMO.
Thanks for the App, will give it a try.
I really like the 8.9, but I bought the G-Tab for reading book and mag's. I almost bought the Kindle/Nook but figured a G-Tab would get more use with my family.
I normally use a Macbook Air when I'm on the road, so this 7.7 should fit in get with the Air and my Skyrocket.
Now I have to either return the ATT 8.9 and maybe talk the guy out of NOT charging me a stupid restocking fee or sell the thing.
Anyone looking to buy a brand new 2 day old ATT LTE 8.9 G-Tab??

Just got the 7.7 and I do like the form factor better over the 8.9.
I also had a 7.0 Plus for a day and its simular, but better.
One thing I have noticed is that the over all performance vs the 8.9 ATT Tab is much better, running ADW that is.
The 8.9 is very laggy even with ADW on it, maybe because of all the ATT bloatware.
So so far so good, now the 8.9 goes back to ATT tomorrow.

Biggest difference is the screen. The 7.7 has an Super Amoled Plus display that just blows everything else out of the water.
If I am not mistaken the 7.7 is the only tablet currently on the market with a Super Amoled Plus display.
I just bought a 7.7 and it's freaking great, blows my 8.9 LTE out of the water. Smaller form factor + same resolution + Super AMOLED+ = amazing. Screen aside, the performance is noticeably snappier. It definitely Honeycombs me less often.

No, they aren't all on HOX, in fact most aren't. Watch again.
HTC doesn't have s-beam.
S-beam isn't NFC, it uses NFC to start a Wi-Fi direct connection to transfer files.
HOX doesn't have it.
You should take your own advice and read more before you post about something you don't understand.

I had the One X and after a day with the S3 i can say i kills the One X in so many ways. Usebility, sound, screen, so many different options you can choose, better email client, better keyboard, much much better battery life. Don`t get me wrong, the One X isn`t a bad phone at all but the S3 is superior to it.

Both email clients have their advantages over the other. The gs3 is a great phone but:
The screen is nowhere near as readable in bright conditions (and the dark themes are not helping)
The radio on the One X is heaps better. Has more bars and I can make calls where the Samsung drops out.
Haven't quite decided which one to keep and other than the above points the differences are not that not (except the sd card and battery of course)
Don't know why people bag the gs3 design either.....I think it's just fine!
If Samsung had put the best materials in SG3, would not discuss what the best phone. That's my opinion.
Yesterday Ive put galaxy s3 and hox side by side with a friend and now my friend wants too trade, but I still don't Luke Samsung
I don't like the design, the GPS performance and the UI. Still a lover for sense. Inside on an old building ive got 2bars off network and none on samsung. I make a call and didn't work on samsung.
Bluethoot integracion with my fiat works better with hox than samsung. For some reason I can't copy my contacts from samsung to my car, that's kill me.
Htc have much more options for personalization than galaxy s3. Ok we can put cm9 and miui and transforme this phone's completly and turn daily use the same cheat
The things I like on samsung its only 3. Dialer with 3g video call, better camera on video and the back speaker its much better
That's my review

Closed, we have a sGS3 vs HOX comparison thread right here.
Also I would like to remind people that flaming is not acceptable on XDA.
Just discuss
my opinions are, S3 is more ugly tbh
and there are not many huge improvement from S2(unlike S1>S2)
so i m still stick with my S2 now
as i think it is still very useful and the size fit my best
not worth to change, just wait and get s4 or note 2
honestly, no.

S3 is leaps and bounds ahead of S2. I upgraded and don't regret it for a second.
NFC is incredibly useful, you can set up NFC tags to perform tasks, for example one in my car enables Bluetooth, turns the volume up to max and starts spotify
Smart stay is really handy if you do a lot of reading.
And it's blazingly fast

Exactly, he isn't even posing in the development forum so he's allowed to talk about stuff that isn't related to development.
The s2 is still a great phone and holds its own even compared to the s3. If you can afford to upgrade it's worth it for the screen alone but it won't be a life changing experience.
The s2 will still be perfectly relevant for the next 12 months though so there is no point upgrading if you don't want to spend the cash.
The only reason I got one is I became frustrated with the limited storage capacity of the galaxy nexus. If I had an s2 I may not have bothered and now that I have an s3 I may just skip the s4 and get an s5.

In your position I would wait for the next Nexus to be released. The hardware will probably be close to the SGS3 with stock Android.
my wife and i went from s2 to s3 phones, HUGE improvements!!! now at what cost, and if its worth it based on that.
she loves the improvements, so do i. very pleased. sure there is a quirk or two, but overall very pleased.

Did you ever consider English may be his second language?
I did not get the impression he was knocking the s3. He seems to be on the fence about upgrading and had found some reasons not to. Still undecided he comes here to ask for opinions from those who own the phone.

I went from S2 to S3, so I'll give you my opinion:
- S3 looks much better to me. I generally prefer curved phones to rectangular ones. I have the so called blue version, which actually is gray and looks much much better than the pictures on reviews.
- S3 is actually easier to hold in your hand because it's curved and it doesn't have any thick parts like S2's bottom.
- S3 has a much larger screen without having a much larger case. It still fits in my pocket and can be used single handedly, so the extra screen size is all good.
- S3 has a much faster camera. Zero shutter lag makes a big difference.
- S3 has the best battery life I've seen in a phone. I torture it all day with heavy use and when I get home I still have 40%. My S2 had to be charged during the day.
- S3 has the best GPS I've seen in a phone. It's amazing how fast and accurate the GPS is.
What's not better is:
- S2 is just as fast. Extra 2 cores on S3 add nothing to real world user experience. Ignore benchmarks.
- Wake up lag is still here. Damn you Samsung. How hard can it be to make a phone that wakes instantly? Everyone else does it.
- Physical home button is still here. It's still an ergonomical fail. Actually the home button on S3 is even harder to use than S2, so navigation bar with soft keys is a must.
So, in short, I think it is a worthy upgrade from S2.

If that was directed at me thanks for the suggestion, I did consider it, but I'm not sure I can spend another nine months limiting the amount of music on my phone in case I want to record a video. Sadly it looks like Google will never produce another device with a micro sd slot as they are all about the cloud these days. If everyone in the world had unlimited data that would be great but we don't so I'm here.

Sorry. im my opinion the phone has a lot of personality. it´s diferent

i think this is not true.you have a quad core. a 720p display. a 4.8 inh display. Nfc also is new.
the major difference is in software. All the samsung goodies makes it a much better phone.
it´s kinda like iphone 4/4s only siri, dual core and better camera. 4s is top seller anyway
so i m still stick with my S2 now

Between Galaxy tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy tab 2 10.1, which one do you think is better?
Comparing the specs, pros and cons and design, which one do you think its more worth it for me?
Sent from my GT-N7005 using xda premium
I recommend the 7 cause it is a lot more portable, cheaper, might not have some fancy things as the 10.1 but it has great ROMs and now I just found this script someone made that will increase my memory because it swaps internal SD with external SD now I'm running 32gb of memory this tab is well worth the money and I saw at Walmart they sell it for 200 dollars now so yeah
Sent from my GT-P3113 using xda app-developers app
I personally think if you are buying tab 2 than choose 7 inch model.
10 inch model is highly over priced.it just have 3inch extra(higher resolution) and all other specs are same.
So go and get 7" tab 2.believe of you will never regret your purchase.
If you want 10" consider 10" note or upcoming galaxy nexus 10.
Thank you for all the replies. So, in terms of specs, there is no particular differences between 7.0 and 10.1?
Sent from my GT-N7005 using xda premium
Yes no difference in two models except size and resolution.
And pressing thanx button is much better than just saying thanx.
But i heard that the tab 2 10.1 have 2 speakers at the front instead of 1 speaker at the side. I dunno if this helps but i regularly go to YouTube for entertainment.

Honestly with the sound quality this tablet has its still got a great speaker! I watch tons of movies on my tab all the time, Netflix, xfinity, and downloaded movies they all sound in a way surround although the speakers are only on the bottom. There are actually two I'm almost positive well I have two haha

Buy the 7. The 10 I think should have better specs than the 7 for the price but it doesn't. (Other than the resolution)
If I got a 10 I'd go for the note 10.1.
1000th post, whaa
go for the 7 inch. if you want a 10 inch model, i recommend buying the new nexus, or even a kindle hd, which is not 10" but have better specs. the tab 2 with 10 inches really should have an upgraded cpu at least.

I don't know, man... you want the speakers, you want a bigger screen... seems clear to me you want a 10 inch. I really don't get why're you asking, if you read your posts, all of them aim at you wanting de 10". Maybe you just haven't realized it yet.
To me, there's no "better than". 10 inch and 7 inch can accomodate very different situations... someone said "it's only 3 inches", but that's A LOT. That's almost the difference between a regular smartphone and a tab. And 43% extra. But at the same time, it's less portable, and more difficult to handle.
You have to choose, depending on the use YOU will give to it, so that's where you start. Watching videos, or the kind of apps... even how are you planning to carry it.
I like my 7", because I can watch videos, read news and e-mails one handed. It's a very comfortable size for playing games, as well. And I can carry it on my bag without having to remove anything of what I used to carry before. Eventually, I'm planning to get a belt-holster kinda thing. Some other people might prefer to sacrifice some mobility, to get some more screen real estate, and get a richer multimedia experience, but in my case, for those situations I jump to my laptop. 10 inches would be too close to its screen... the same way, if I had a Galaxy Note, a 7 inch would have been too close to my phone's screen (this is why my "gnote-owning" wife isn't interested in a tab).

Why i prefer a bigger screen is because I can see better and it is more of a comfort to use. But if the 10" isnt going to have a better specs than the 7", then I wouldnt have any choice other than the 7" because wasting money on something with **** specs isnt what i intended to do. How I am planning to carry it is simply just put it in my bag.
Same goes for me. If i had the 7" tablet, it will be really close to my screen because of my note being 5.3".
Then again, screen size is an issue but not a must for me. If the google nexus 7 is better than tab 2 10" in terms of specs, I will take that. I heard that it is running Jelly Bean, sounds cool.

I prefer the 7.0 because of portability. There are several ROMs to choose for already and you can now swap ext sd with internal SD!

If you have a Gnote, a 7-inch tablet is a little redundant. Nexus 10 / Note 10 would be a good option.
