Just wondered if there's a list of basic apps that come as standard with the n7 that can be safely removed.?
A lot of them I don't use, but get a warning if try to remove them via titanium

just create a backup of the app and if something goes wrong restore it...and also i doubt too much bloat is on the n7 (im running bamf so idk about stock) since it is a stock google product.:cyclops:
I'm almost sure that calculator can be removed

I'm getting a replacement on my nexus 7, I was wondering how to restore what I had to my new replacement new. Such as game data and such. Is the only way if I rooted it?

No worries buddy. It automatically restores through your email. When you start up the N7 enter in the same one you did with your previous Nexus.

Really? It'll remember where I left off on games too? I had a galaxy s2 and got a replacement, but lost all my data.
You will probably need to root and then use a backup program like titanium to backup from the old device, save the backup files to an external location, then restore to your new device. Of course rooting the new device too.

Titanium backup + a box or dropbox account will become your best friend.

eh. I have a mac with me though for the next month or so.. Won't rooting now, erase my data anyways?
I think it's an ICS thing. I'm not too sure about the data, but your apps are ok. I know they're backed up by Google. As for the data, I'm rooted. So...
What you can do is copy your data folder on your phone. You can actually see the file when you connect to your computer, and then just manually start copying your app data. LoL!! I can only imagine how impractical that is.
So i have never had a problem eith my card, nd now when i try to purchsse an app my card is grayed out.
I when on to the google wallet site and it now says card declined, update your card.

have you actually tried using that same card now after the fact that its being declined from google? might want to contact your financial institution.
Yer it works fine. Suppose i will contact the bank tomorrow. Its just my look, while this 25p sale is on.

This will sound silly but go back and try and buy an app, and see if there is a check box there for agreeing with tos with Google wallet.

Glad to hear that was it. Happened to me awhile back and I kept going back in and finally noticed the check box. Google should have made it a full splash screen or something

When they had the 10 cent app sale my bank froze my account for suspicious activity. Bummer...

This device is blazing fast most of the time, but it will inexplicably lock up, completely, for a few minutes at a time for seemingly no reason. Right now it's frozen on a youtube video and I can't turn it off or use the screen. The device is also unusable really when installing apps, and will lag heavily in Google Now sometimes.
Is this just me? Or 4.2.1?
Just you. My N7 is still operating at warp speed and doesn't lock up..

Are you stock? If so I heard people saying turning off the sync for currents will help, for Google now lag I feel its performs better if you turn off the hot word in setting. But with that you can't say Google and start voice search
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I'm stock 4.2.1 and don't have those issues. I do have currents (and various other apps) disabled, so like previous response said try that. Otherwise maybe go with a factory reset.
When my gnex updated to 4.2 it's performance suffered until I factory reset, now it's been much better.

My best guess would be you have installed an app that is not compatible with 4.2.
How about posting a list of what you have installed, if you use multi-user, and if you are stock (not rooted), and we can give comments.
I agree. I'm running PA and rock solid. I was also rock solid on stock.
I've never had it lock up. I flashed a Trinity kernel once that caused sleep of death... but it was a known issue.

I have a pretty decent amount of apps installed. I'll post them in a minute, but no, I'm not multi-user, and I'm stock. I'll root and put a new rom on this thing if it's worth it, I figured it'd be fine the way it came.
btw, here are my androbench results. Are these slow?

thanks, I'll try disabling those.
Over 100 apps in total, my andronbench write speed is clearly an error so just compare read and app open macros.
My apps open much faster than yours, which I'd put down to PA ROM and kernel. Maybe your write speed is a bit slow?
Can you download "forever gone" from market and try a full fill and delete? Apparently helps reset the memory controller to improve performance.

I just want to know if I should restore, root and flash a new rom on this thing. Can someone check out my androbench scores and tell me if they're normal?

hi to everybody , i found this on the nexus 5 forum :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/port-sense-6-0-m8-dev-t2703397?__utma=248941774.573565283.1393783423.1397553098.1397580170.195&__utmb=248941774.2.10.1397580170&__utmc=248941774&__utmx=-&__utmz=248941774.1396619636.153.6.utmcsr=google|utmccn=(organic)|utmcmd=organic|utmctr=(not%20provided)&__utmv=-&__utmk=231964828
i only want to say this and bring it to your eyes , i think that a port of the sense 6 for the nexus 4 will be great
The Dev from that already said it isn't possible on the nexus 4

why?
Needs high knwoledge about kernel,binaries,etc..

It is close to impossible to port Sense to Nexus 4. Because HTC devices use different screen resolution than nexus 4. One should resize them for the Resolution of Nexus 4. Also It needs many Kernel tweaking and hacking. Availability of Binaries is a downfall.

Different chip sets.
Different screen
Different drivers
You see how most things still don't work on that port?
There is a LOT of back porting that needs to be done. Its already a pain on the N5. They've gotten far but its a lot of work. It would be near impossible to get sense completely working on your phone. You can always use the working Blink feed launcher and a theme if you must have sense 6
