Can you roll back (system restore) on your PC? Is it XP?

thanks but I already tried that, it seems that it set up a different connection that isnt working. The frickin wifi router didnt even work. Absolute biggest mistake I have ever made installing it. Does anyone know how to re set up the connection?
You're in the wrong forum, this has nothing to do w/ upgrading the actual Kaiser. Your problem should be posted in the general forums.

I have moved it...
And not sure how it messed up your pc.. The app is very simple and it only uses an adhoc connection, no need to set up connection sharing on your computer, only a wirless adhoc connection to your phone, the phone uses the sharing.
Alright alright shoot me if this has already been asked or mentioned or thought of by anyone here or any one who you ever knew. I've been searching the entire net, the XDA forums have nothin on the subject (the the search function and i arent seeing eye to eye.).
My problem is this,
I am at home, connecting to my router, and that connects fine. But i am not connected to the internet. On my PC there is an option if i want to connect to the network, and then the internet. But in the HD2, there is no option to connect, Im only connecting ot the network, but not internet access.
went to a buddys house, he got his wi fi up and running in a matter of seconds, he did exactly as i have done, located the connection, typed the pass, and that was that.
but i cannot even find a place that asks me for an internect connection after i have connected to the network, nothing there.
And i cannot find any help on this subject.
i hope you get me if not, then dont bother. i am tired of reading mountains of crap that has nothing to do with my problem.
thanks in advance
appologies for my tone, just a little frustrated right now.
ah, btw, my 3g connect works fine. just not the wifi.
Once the network is connected there's nothing more to do to get internet access. At home, does it take a long time for the HD2 to connect to the network (arrows moving on the wifi icon more than ~5secs)? If you co to connection manager -> wifi -> advanced -> advanced tab, what IP do you have?
Well it connects to 'alice-wlan' really quickly, and automatically.
but there is still no internet connection. i think its a router setting problem, because on my pc i also have to connect first to alice.wlan (does it autoimatically) but then i have to manually connect to the internet (broadband)... i do not knwo how to change this.
i dont know what IP i have, you mean as a router?
correction,
now it connects to the router quite slow, if it does at all, then drops it almost immediatly.

that makes me think you are using the old style routers that don't hold the broadband always open. meaning either the router or the pc need to dial the adsl. usually you put the connection details into the router and it handles it,,
just thinking out loud.
Hmm actually now you say that I've been at someone's place recently where they had an ADSL plan that was time-billed, so they had to open a browser and login before being able to access the web...

Could you please say what you have to do for this?
it says 0.0.0.0 hmmm i dont know if that right tho
Wait until the arrows stop moving on the wifi icon, and it whould then say something more relevant.
still nothing, 0.0.0.0 ...

well, in win7 i alice connects automatically, then theres a broadband (internet) tab, i click on that, and it runs the use/pass and connects.
I am trying to access the internet using my WIFI but all of a sudden it has stopped working... Same with my fiancée, she is on a completely different plan and her own line yet she still has the same problem as well. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
At least this isn't in dev?
wifi uses your home wireless internet...
Are you referring to 3g or 4g

This is very true lol.... I guess I worded this wrong... What I meant was, my wifi option is not working on my EVO... My Fiancée has EVO Shift and same for her... I have time warner cable and its up and running and working fine, and she has Verz FIOS and its up and running... Sorry for the misunderstanding...

Sounds like you have an issue with your wireless router.
Thread cleaned. Stop with the trolling and off-topic crap.
Your time warner connection is probably down but since your router us still powered, thus showing that its still available on the WiFi list. Check your router for the internet icon. If the icon is missing, unplug your modem and remove the battery from your modem if it has one, and unplug your router, each for 2 min. Plug modem with battery back in, plug router back in. Should work, unless its Time Warners issue.

Sorry, I know this is the 10.1 forum, but I didn't find one for 8.9. And i guess there's not a huge difference.
I've got my 8.9" tab today, but I'm not able to connect to the wi-fi network. I've found the network and I've typed the correct password, but my tab is just switching between scanning and getting an IP address.
I know the password is correct, had to type it on my phone earlier today and it worked just fine.

Hi
did you check if the MAC address filtering is turned on on your access-point ?
I get that once in the while... I've got 10.1 and when i leave it for few hours it just cannot connect to the network. Usually restart of the tab fixes the problem but sometimes I have to restart router as well

I don't understand what this means, please explain the dummy way? Thanks for answering, guys.
Does anyone know what to do, and can explain it to me?
Well due to a suspicion of someone in my area trying to get into my network I disabled the SSID.
Since then my GT-I9300 stopped seeing it, says it's out of range. My router is TP-Link TL-WR1043ND
Any way I can fix that? I have stock rom with root.
If you disabled your ssid no device will be able to see it. Basically it means your wifi is off. You have to enable ssid in order to connect to it. Few steps you can make to ensure its more secure. Change log in user name and password to your router. Change your wifi ssid and password to a more complicated one.

I never tried, but I can't believe we don't have the option to connect to a hidden SSID
I downloaded this app and it does work. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.sourceforge.soopy.hidden.ssid.enabler&hl=en
It allowed me to connect to my wifi with the SSID not broadcasting.
If you know the SSID name you can add it manually with the add option.
As has been said, you will need to add your network again, and type the SSID in, just tap "Add Wi-Fi network" under Wi-Fi settings.
Also just so you know hiding the SSID will not provide much more security, it's easy to obtain the SSID even if it's hidden with the right software, also if someone was attempting to gain unauthorised access to your network they probably know your SSID anyway. If you use a strong WPA2 key to secure your network it will provide much more security than hiding your SSID.
No one can crack WPA2. Just stay away from WEP.

All kinds of network security can be cracked. It's a matter of resources (time, processing power, etc.). Just keep in mind that some (like WPA2) are just more difficult to break than others (WEP).
And also, don't forget that PEBKAC.
Cheers
PS: I think that changing and hiding the SSID + choosing a strong WPA2 key can bring enough peace of mind. Unless you're dating the daughter of the Head of NSA

I knew some idiot was gonna be a smartass and state this. We're talking about a neighbor cracking this guy's home network. Everything can be cracked with enough resources; yes we know that.

Wow... "Idiot"... "Smartass"... Who is, really? Mr Wikipedia-I-Know-Everything who can't be a bit polite in a forum? Come on, guy... Go breathe some fresh air outside and come back (or not).
Btw, pls give correct answers to the one asking a serious question and stop polluting his thread.
Peace & ciao.

Listen you pre-pubescent know-it-all. I gave him the correct answer, to set it to WPA2, which is safe enough for the guy's needs. Then you come with some wise-ass statement stating nothing's safe from cracking. Do you think the NSA is going to try to crack his internet password?
The worst part of forums like XDA is that we have to put up with little nerdy middle school kids who aren't yet socially apt but want to look like they have a clue.

Dude, let's stick to the point you've raised.
YES, you can hide your ssid AND put a WPA2 key on it. You just have to add it as another network. That's my current router configuration, and everything is running quite smoothly.
Let us know if it works.
Cheers
