Obviously ICS has a few issues *cough* which will hopefully be fixed by an OTA any day.
Remembering that previous versions were hardly perfect which is your favorite version for your Transformer.
Custom 4.0 roms. EOS is close to rock solid for me. Theres no way I can go back to hc after getting used to ics
after test 10 ics for me sure no mather what rom. Kernel is the most important thing.

Easily Megatron CM9 with Test kernel. The Kernel makes everything smooth as hell (And keeps issues to a minimum), while the ROM adds the dock support I want, with the latest android version to boot!
Is it just me or after a few hours of use does TAJB's Jellybean rom become incredible slow and sluggish? I know its still in early development but its only an incremental update from ICS which seems to be stable (for the most part) but sometimes its just goes crazy on JellyBean despite the Project Butter enahncement. Im starting to think that these new versions of Android are startin to push the boundaries for our tired old Galaxy S1's :S
The hardware of the SGS1 is old and outdated its just something we have to come to terms with. After using other phones with official ICS I understand why the SGS hasn't been supported, so I'm guessing its much the same with JB..

Yeah ive been using that too, its only slightly more responsive but still get the same problems. especially if i try to use google voice, the thing just goes berzerk.
I'm yet on unofficial CM10 v2 and it's very smooth, I fell diffrence than ics.

It's the launcher, most likely. I ran into that problem as well.
I'm on iall5tar's GNex ROM 4.1.1 Port and it's smoother than ICS, which was already fairly impressive.
Our i9000's are old, but each software upgrade is just that—an upgrade. JB is better than ICS, and ICS was better than GB. We didn't get the official update because Samsung thought their Touchwiz skinned ICS wouldn't run on our hardware. In reality, it was likely because they didn't want to spend money updating a device they no longer sold. Not because our phones couldn't actually run it.
My phone has no been faster than it is now, with JB. Blame the ROM, not the OS or the hardware.
After coming from slim ics 4.2 I also noticed slowdowns almost everywhere such as app opening, entering settings etc. On the other hand I felt the same with early and not so early ics roms like icssgs, and always went to gb roms after day or two because of slowdowns, lack of toggles etc.
Then I tried slim ics 3.x and never looked back. Same will probably happen with jb, first builds are ummature but when devs look deeper into sources and find differences and optimization for sgs, the phone will be beast
I just hope there will be other option for handling the limited space in internal flash memory than removing datadata altogether, as jb seems to improve touch and animation smoothness there is little Google can do to improve I/O performance.

I am using JB at the Moment, too (TAJB v6). I tested every JB ROM for our SGS from start, and in my opinion, the GNex ports were the fastest and also very stable, but unfortunately, the people want to move forward to CM10! Anyway, JB is definetly not too much for the SGS! Everything feels fast and smooth, exept of the randomly occuring super-launcher-lags. If this happens, just kill the Launcher Task or reboot. I think JB is not the last update for our SGS!
The clue in most cases lies in the term Alpha! You flash Alpha roms you are in effect becoming a tester, so don't grumble....work towards finding solutions and posting relevant feedback and bug reports

this slowness is because v6 is based on pawitp's CM10 build which has datadata deleted and used instead of it slower data/data.
try derteufel's JellyBean v2 - it works like a charm!

Only issue is my BLN does not work anymore, probably because of one little setting
Fixed the BLN issue,I had to RTFM Enable pulsating notification light.
Found one other issue, volume during phone call is loud and cannot be changed.

For those with lots of lag I recommend flashing again. I was on CM10 Alpha and it was super slow. Couldn't believe people were saying it was fast. Flashed Slim Beans which was also slow. Figured either people are crazy or it's me. Even read something about older phones having slower memory than newer ones etc.
Flashed Slim Beans a second time and this time there is no comparison. Now it is much faster. In fact it is almost like having a different phone.
I'm on [ROM GNEXUS PORT] jro03c 4.1.1 beta 4 [oficial jelly bean stock rom] and at first it's sluggish as hell...after a while it does begin to work a little bit smoother....but then again, it's nothing compared to other ICS 4.0.3-4.0.4 custom roms out there....it still needs a lot of work.
It has nothing to do with datadata and everything to do with the fact that project butter hasn't even been implemented yet. For example I use slim and it is super fast, it has no datadata.
Also we need a driver update and until we get that no butter for us.
Plus its an alpha build. Give it a break.

vSync is not working yet. Also all JB releases are currently signed "Alpha" or "Beta", so what do you expect? They are not (yet) made for being used as a daily driver. Thanks to the devs, the development will continue
BTW: I also tried all current JB ROMs but they are still too unstable for me. It's nice to see that the i9000 can run them but actually they are not that stable yet.

There is a fix for the slow V6 on teamjellybean.noez.in but this is down for now... Wait for V7 and it will be smooth i think.

I saw this thread over at the Galaxy Nexus forums, and since I figured more people than just me might want to know more about the different ROMs, I thought it was worrth a thread here as well.
What I'm interested is a quick reference thread for the various Jellybean ROMs. Run by who, what's the aim, etc. Basically a quick reference guide to assist people (like me) decide which ROM fits my needs.
So far, these are the Jellybean builds that I know about for the TF101:
Team EOS 3 Jellybean nightlies
RaymanFX's 4.1.1 AOSP builds
CM10 preview edition

It would be nice for each ROM to have a a post which lists its key features:
Aim of the ROM. Tweaks, Stability, Speed, AOSP-like cleanness, etc
State. In active development, experimental, mature, stable, abondoned, etc.
ROM base, if any. Based on AOSP, AOKP, CM, etc.
Release-type/frequency: Nightly, interval, fixed releases, etc.
Non-stock/AOSP features. Swag, Toggles, Theming, OCing, etc.
Basically enough info to assist making a decision, without aiming for pages and pages of stuff which noone will ever bother to write (or read). See this post for an example of what I'm thinking about.
Feel free to recommend a non-default kernel for the ROM, but the focus should be on what the ROM itself offers out of the box.
Sounds good? Anyone wants to give it a go?

I've been meaning to make a thread like this, but I still have yet to find the time.
I read through all the JB threads about a week ago and Team Eos seemed to have the least amount of bugs so I chose it over the other options.
I'll start off by saying I've been using it daily since build #53 [2012-07-24] and I'm currently on build #54.
That said, here's what I've noticed so far:
Speaker volume is a bit low.
When using the HDMI out cable, sound plays via TF101 speakers, not TV speakers.
Video effects (Silly Faces) in Camera cause camera to crash.
GPS doesn't work.
Other than that, it's a very stable rom and working great. Dock functions 100%. Very responsive, stable and fast.
Also I'm using Guevor's JB Kernel 693. I just noticed 696 was released yesterday, so flashing that now .
Feel free to ask any questions about the rom. Maybe some time next week I can flash all the JB kernels out there and put them through their paces .
Note this rom is a GREAT daily driver, unless you really need GPS or use HDMI out very often, I highly recommend it.
I'm also running Team EOS nightlies and I'm very happy with it.

Check out Dual Battery Widget from the play store. It has an option for having the dock battery level show in the status bar.
Also I'd like to add I haven't had a single SOD on Team Eos nightlies (been on since #53). But I have had a few reboots, all but 1 have occurred while not using the tablet.

Using RaymanFX's 4.1.1 JB
Hi guys, thought I'd share this info. I'm using RaymanFX's ROM and overall it's running well. My only issue so far is that Google Now crashes right after launching. It was working before I started adding new apps, so I'm guessing there is a conflict with another app. Unfortunately I don't know which one it is. I'm guessing maybe gmail, Google maps, or Google +. I haven't tested the HDMI or used in the dock yet but WiFi and graphics seem good. The ROM itself is extremely lean, no bloat to speak of.
I had to flash the ROM a second time to get it working but it's possible that I goofed it up the first time because it does take a bit to do the initial boot and I was getting impatient and thought it locked up and rebooted.
I'll probably try the EOS ROM next.

I'm not sure actually how good CM10 is, but I've run both this and TeamEOS and I changed to a TeamEOS / KAT 1.14 (now) combo and I have never looked back.. If just install the rom 0.7 from raymanfx. The first time from me i root my tf101 !
It work great, some small functionnality are missing on the keyboard but it gives a second life to our baby.

Yep, I' using 0.7 from Raymanfx also. Its great to have the mutli-user support, but I think it comes with significant overhead and I'm not sure the TF101 can handle this.... still testing and will keep everyone informed.
It's taken me quite sometime to realise how much superior AOSP ROM's are in comparison to Sammy based ROM's, i first flashed Supernexus out of curiosity a few weeks ago and was blown away by it's speed and smoothness far far better than Sammy ROM's in every respect, i then went onto Liquid Jellybean which was even better especially the battery life but with a few minor bugs and no update as of yet but im sure it'll come at some stage, now im on blackbean which uses the same base as Liquid JB and amazing stuff indeed, the speed and smoothness is unrivaled, with more development it will only get better.
Previously ive had superb ROM's like CheckRom, Android Revolution and Omega which are all excellent ROM's in their own individual way but i doubt ill ever go back to anything that isn't AOSP now unless some serious development happens which i wouldn't be surprised on XDA, so what type of ROM's do people prefer for their Galaxy S3?

the only thing i wait is the official jb update so the aosp ones can get sources to built on and also to have the best sammy ones(comparable to aosp since it's jb) ever!

I used to have a Captivate and ran only AOSP/CM/AOKP roms. I still have it (use it as an mp3 player) and it's awesome.
No on my i9300, I'm using Omega v11. I tried SuperNexus Build 1 and tried a couple of AOSP based rom. I haven't tried later JB roms because I'm concerned with the memory leaks and lack of tv out and stuff like that. The main difference I found is the camera. The Samsung Camera app is very, very good. It is, flat out, superior to the ICS/JB Camera app. Allshare, FM Radio, TV Out, seem usually to be unsupported on AOSP roms (please correct me if I'm wrong).
I think AOSP (and variants) roms are very good. UI is sleaker and they might be a bit more responsive, but I could appreciate a greater difference when I had a Galaxy S with a half baked Touchwiz on it that with the complete monster the i9300 is with a thought out, 3rd or 4th generation Touchwiz. I still use Nova Launcher, because it looks better to me, but I love Smart Stay, TV out is absurdly useful to play n64 games or so with an emulator and a ps3 controller and again, the camera.
I might go back to AOSP roms. I've been looking for a good theme for stock roms, but haven't found one that actually replicates the feeling. However, functionality wise, I think Samsung's Roms are superior.
Excellent thread....Aosp are very responsive and pretty slick....you can feel the new all the advantages of JB.....but as said by monoespacial, the tricks in TW such as smart stay and others are very useful...it'll will be great if one of our outstanding developers in this forum can bake a Rom based on Aosp JB including all the mentionned tweaks.......excellent forum and wonderful community.....thanks.

In saying that, I've found myself flashing Cm10 or supernexus or liquid because I was sick of tw but after a day or two I get sick of them, I always end up going back to tw roms, especially since the JB leaks, the latest one is near perfection.
Tw JB roms COMPLETELY de-bloated are pretty damn smooth and fast, right now I see no need for aosp roms.
There are too many handy features in the tw roms.

they are simple and fast, and can install kernel with oveclock
but:
-no wifi tethering (its important to me)
-some FC
-inferior camera app
-without some features, like smart stay, etc ...
I agree!! Those AOSP or AOKP are excellent in terms of speed and smooth-ness. It also somehow integrate to the Google products better. However, they are often very simple interface with nothing much..
Too bad at this moment, there are still bugs that can't be fixed.
In the future, I will just go and get the original Google Nexus phone... You'll get the latest update first hand and there are less bloatware installed

aosp is fast and slick , i love it but there is no denying the fact samsung has improved the quality of their roms for s3..... aosp vs stock is always been a debatable question where aosp always wins. but with galaxy s3 roms samsung has progressed one step higher.
at the end of the day not only the speed that matters but also the releaibility and functionality...
advatanges of aosp:
* Your mobile is fast and clean.
* More room for multitasking with more memory available.
* Wide variety of themes to choose from.
* aokp and derivative of aosp roms are simply amazing
disadvantages:
* it just makes your s3 like any other mobile that runs aosp. No device specific functions.
* Inferior camera.
* you will never get some features .

I agree! I started off my rom flashing on a milestone2 and when I got cm7 on it for the first time, I was in love with it. Then I got a g2x which was stock gb all the way too.
Finally I get this sg3 which was a must have and wow, I have used cm 9,10, every other aosp and aokp rom but stock again has more stuff u can't get from others.
I adw, Nova, launcher pro but I just tw all the way. Suits my needs.
I guess the best thing about it is, we could always change it when need be!

I do like the AOSP / AOKP etc. roms due to their speed, clean base and an intuitive user interface, but some bad things keep me from going to them.
Annoying bugs:
More FC's
Bluetooth works bad with A2DP headphones - choppy sound, interruption etc.
Native USB Tither doesn't work
Overheating compared to stock roms
Some cool things missing from stock roms such as superior camera, video call, smart stay etc.
A lot of minor bugs
Just to respond to some posts (good replies by the way)some people mentioned an inferior camera, a third party camera app like Camera ZoomFX does the job nicely and is one of the best IMO.
I rarely use WiFi tethering although ill probably be using it for 1 week next week while i wait to change broadband providers, there ar emany third party apps that im sure will do the job there.
If some TW features could be implemented into AOSP it would be a win win situation, but with the speed and responsiveness and battery life so good im staying put, much and all as i like ROM's like CheckRom and Android Revolution (2 of the best Sammy based ROM's IMO) but after having AOSP on the dog and bone i couldn't go back.

true, it would be nice to have new touchwiz features in cmx btw whatever the 3rd party app you use you cant get near to the stock camera app which has fetures like hdr,buddy share and more and adding to the arsenal jb update brings "pause while recording" feature to the camera app. BUt sadly its the price we have to pay for the luxury of aosp
Yeah, I was blown away at the speed of AOSP, the one major disadvantage(in my eyes) is the current memory leak present.
I'm sure that in due time, the AOSP camera will get all those features present on the Sammy camera.
I guess the thing I miss the most from the Sammy ROM was the swipe left to message and swipe right to call. Very useful feature IMO.

There is some question if any further enhancements will be forthcoming. This is not a terrible thing because the Task "Beginning" ICS release is very stable. On the other hand, I wonder if there is anything out there right now that might improve the way my Tab performs.
With that in mind, I am curious if any of the JB Roms currently in development offer an improved user experience when compared to what I am using now. From what I can tell from reading other threads in this forum, most of the Jellybean releases for the GT7510 still have a few problems, (camera, WIFI, etc.). Is there anything out there that approaches the stability of Task ICS while offering some significant performance enhancements?
I am hopeful that someone with some experience using JB on the GT7510 can offer an opinion.

P7510 owner here so I'll chime in.
For now the benefits of the JB builds don't out weigh the disadvantages associated with the bugs in them. My everyday driver is still the odexed stock rooted ICS. I have Nandroids of CM9 and CM10 builds to putz around with when a new build is built by someone.
Pershoot is going to start concentrating on CM10 though so there should be consistent JB builds soon enough. I would do as I am. Stay on ICS as your daily driver and just keep an eye out on the development scene.
I have been using Maple's AOSP JB rom, and aside from video capture and front facing camera issues, everything is so much better than honeycomb. The only glitches I have encountered besides these are minor screen flicker during boot animation (not during use) and extreme lag when using panorama mode (takes about a minute to process). Since I don't use my camera, this ROM is perfect. Battery life is much better (than honeycomb, at least). Don't have much experience with ICS. Much smoother, and Google now is great. Overall, unless you're a camera heavy user, and the tab has an awful camera, or like Web chats, really no cons.

Depends on your usage.
If you re a Skyper.... Jb roms doesn't fit you. Go for jelly bean ics v6.
Incase you don't use the tab's camera as most of us, and more of a media user, jb is yours. I use my tab for movies during travel time and for books. Jb rom plays even 720p mkv files smoothly. I've never got that performance anywhere.
Incase of stock ics go with a custom kernel with built in tweaks.

I am one of those that immediately flashed JB AOSP by Maple as soon as it was available, but over the last few months I have grown increasingly dissatisfied with the rom. It's not that the rom is bad, but with the camera still not working and the occasionally bug/glitch that completely locks up my tab when I need it most, I decided a few days ago to go back to one of the ICS roms.
I first went back to Task 650's ics rom which I thought was great, but it seems that development has slowed considerably on that rom, and I could not live with the constant SOD's when charging (for some reason I could not find the "keep awake when charging" setting in the developer options that most other roms have.
So I flashed Ganborous CM9 based rom and I am loving it. Along with the rom, I flashed the Google Now for ICS package, and I also flashed a custom boot animation and now I think this rom is perfect. I haven't had a SOD (it has the developer option to keep awake), and I haven't had my tab lock-up or crash on me.
Once some more development on JB roms occurs (like Pershoots upcoming CM10 or even an update from Maple when/if he gets his Tab fixed) I may go back, but for now I atleast have a rock solid ICS rom with Google Now working.

I'm AOKP ICS and my tab runs great, no camera's but it's a tablet and I don't use it for the camera. I think mine is milestone 4 and CPU set at 1000 Max 912 Min, I think its 912.

I could love with the Job rooms if the rear camera didn't work because I don't take pictures with my tab, but not having a front came means that I can't use my tab to video chat or Skype.

I was a task 14 rom user myself then I made the big jump to aokp milestone 6. Hooked since. My sgs4g is on aokp as well with working camera, love what team kang are doing.
