The first MIUI rom I tried on my HD2 was the one provided by MIUI themselves (or whatever they're called) I used it for a LONG time without having any problems... Few months later trying WP7, I kind of messed up and invariably my phone would random reboot either on WP7 or Android... That didn't happen with the stock winMo 6.5 rom though, but thats' a pain to use :|

I have flashed my Blackstone many many times now always in serach of the perfect rom. I have now got to the stage where even after a flash and a hard reset, the phone is very slow and laggy. This is also the case after flashing to an official htc stock rom.
Could it be that constant reflashing creates wear and tear (so to speak) to the electronic innards of the phone???
no it doesnt its the rom that makes the phone slow, with all the extra into the rom.also the interface sense 2.5 with the 3 shortcuts is for the HD2 thats 1gig speed.the blackstone is the half of it so its slower,if ya use 6.5 roms
I know one or two chefs who have flashed there phones right to the ground. Rare as it may be, I'm talking the type of flashing where after a day one might hit over 5 flashes. The chances of you and I damaging the phone from a hand full of flashes per month is highly unlikely.
I have flashed my HD maybe hundred times, still fast though. But I have seen also slowed down HD of my friend (hardware related), but we dont know why. He was using stock ROM.
P.S: I can suggest you flash a WinMo 6.1 rom like topix and run a benchmark without installing any add-ons then compare results with different users. There is shared benchmark results @ HD rom discussion .
Hope your device is OK.
Yes I flashed back to the latest official 6.1 rom but to be honest, once you try 6.5, you dont want to go back to 6.1
Can anyone recommend a close to stock rom but with 6.5? Nothing fancy, just the basic touch flo ui etc. No leo sense ui. One that is fast.

for something close to a stock 6.5, try KWBR's Vanilla series rhodium - Dec 19th Rom
Not strictly stock, but you might also want to give it a try is the Topix 3.3
Hi!
Reason I'm asking is I'm running the mdeejay_froyo_sense_v2.1_ppp build with radio 2_10_50_08_2 and stock norwegian 1.66 ROM - and everything seems to run just fine (had it for several days now)
So, then I wonder why it's recommended to use a custom rom? Do the android build have any to do with what wm rom you use? Or could it be this build runs so smooth for me because i'm using a class 4 card?

I think that the Android builds use WM differently.
My phone was a stock phone, and i tried to boot the Darkstone Sense android. This did not go very well. WM locked up, and all i could do in WM was some basic stuff. All 3'rd part apps did not work. I could not install anyting. So i changed ROM and Radio and everything now works well. So, i got hold of another stock HD2, tried the same thing, and the same happened once again.

It's just recommended because the custom ROM' are more customized to run Android without problems, but you can run android with any rom even stock as long as you have the proper Radio
The custom WM roms meant for android boot very quickly, are small files, and have custom boot loaders built in. All of this is at the expense of windows mobile functionality.
I believe that WM rom has little impact on the actual performance of android and only aids in how quickly you go from device off to booted android. All you really NEED is the right radio.
Oky, thnx...well, I went on and installed a custom rom anyway (think it was about time anyhow ), and now running the Desire HD build - running great, so guess my system/radio is what it should be now
i have been running android on my hd2 for almost 3 months and i have yet to put a custom rom on my phone all i did was put a hard spl and change radio that was it android runs fine never had any real problems like everyone else is having and if i did i changed the build
I would recommend a Custom ROM thats Android Friendly like that any issues that WM might cause to Android are gone...
BUT,
You can still Run android on top of a Stock Build...
I had android once with a Stock ROM from T-Mobile and it worked just as good as a custom one...Just Depends on your luck of the Draw...
The latest Official ROM from T Mobile caused sound issues on my Android Build so i kicked it
Im also on Stock rom, happy with with performance and stability

Hi Gihanfx,
How is the battery life for you with the stock rom and radio?
I saw some other posts saying the android is speedy an stable with the latest stock rom and radio, but the battery life actually sucks.
Thank you
Hey everyone ,
I m just wondering around if anyone knows where i can get stock winmo 6.5 ver rom for blackstone , i know there;s no build for blackstone {touch hd} ,
coz i m using cloudy's rom so they are pretty much same to stock ,
the main reason for doing that my phone when i try to wake up , the back light stays lit up but nothin else happens so i have to softreset everytime
If somebody knows the solution that would be great help
cheers
Ravage is what you are looking for!
If you are looking for the stockiest 6.5 rom available for the HD, then follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633360. This is the best rom you would find for the HD. By Miniterror.
dont really understand your question.
you say you want a stock rom and that you know there is no stock rom, but that the rom you're using is almost stock.
what more do you want?
sorry for not making myself understandable, as u know htc hadn't released any stock 6.5.x rom for blackstone ,only 6.1 is available, as our developers are comping 6.5 build from other phones like leo etc.
my exact question was is there any clean winmo 6.5.x rom available , so that I can install on ma blackstone . I almost tried every latest rom , but i m not getting enough memory left after installation , except cloudy's and blackstonehenge which i m using right now.
Any idea, or help would be better, thnks guys
you should change this thread's title, it is confusing.
stock rom refers to a rom provided by the manufacturer or a carrier. what you seem to be looking for is a clean or lite rom. that would also be the names you should look for. there are dedicated lite/clean/vanilla roms around, that run manila 2.1 or titanium, that should offer you enough free space and speed, or did you, by any chance, forget to hard reset your phone after flashing. that will make your phone slower with every rom you flash
Hi all,
First im sorry for my english
I have HTC HD2 EU version and everybody know windows sucks ;p I decided to change OS to android. And Im little confused, so many roms and distribution.
Please help me chose one or two
I want install NAND version.
Please give me your favorite! I want see the best with sense and without (clean+modes)
Thanks !
Jack
May be this is not you are asking for Sense but I recommend NDT ROM.... I'm also newbie and try several ROM. I'm using NDT MIUI ROM right now. I like the way they organize the theme. Just IMO
NDT
I would second the NDT MIUI rom. It is very stable, clean and fast. MIUI also has some nice themes. I would stay away from most of the sense 3.0 threads if you are looking to use wifi hotpsot and the camera as they are not real stable
The Cm7 roms are pretty stable to. Once you get Magldr you can backup and try a few till you find one you like
as stated before. if you want to enjoy your phone in all its ways, stay away from the new sense 3 roms. I was also the Sense guy, untill i tried miui. For me this the way my phone should work. Miui has ton of features its fast, its stable (Systeminfo shows almost 300 hours without reboots) and very versatile. Read the miui bible, cos there are features (usefull ones) there, which most users have never heard about. If you like theming etc. miui is the way to go. Everyday new themes which are applied by a click, no editing of apks needed. I seriously cant imagine go back to another rom, that would be a major downgrade for me.
the rom i use is JW miui from jan-willem3. jan knows what he is doing, so i recommend this highly

Hey guys. Just bought an HD2, have flashed android 4.0 alpha on it, but I wanna give this phone to my girlfriend who lives in another state. She currently has a Mytouch Slide and I want to put a sense Rom on this phone because that's what she is familiar with. However I wanted to know what the most stable Sense Rom with the best battery life is? Is prefer a Sense 3.0 Rom but any version of Sense is fine. She doesn't use mobile web , only WiFi, and she usually texts and calls with it, very light app usage, if that helps describing her habits. Appreciate the input!
Flash this CLK bootloader in the right partition layout and follow instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114053
After that flash clockwork mod 5.2.0.6.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987531
Partition your Sd card with a 1024mb Ext4 partition... you can do that with clockwork mod.
And flash this rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908528
Most stable rom out there.... for daily use.
The advantage of CLK is that your HD2 boots like a native android.
So your girlfriend can't touch anything of the bootloader etc.
For any info take a look at this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336700
good luck
As the post above said, I personally find Android 2.2 with Sense 2.0 the most stable and fastest type of ROM out there. Perfect for daily use and if your girlfriend isn't bothered about having the latest version of Android

Thanks guys ill try both Roms for a couple days and see which I like more. She doesn't care to be on the latest version, but I personally prefer sense 3.0 or 3.5 cuz that's what I have on my sensation.

Check clk partition sizes, make sure you have flashed a clk (and sense) compatible kernel. First boot can take up to 10 mins.

Completely useless unless you give us more information, and wasting space seeing as you clearly haven't searched first.
