Desktop very less fluid since Apex Launcher BETA - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've just updated Apex Launcher to BETA (I'm using CM10).
Before my desktop was fluid.
But now it's very very less fluide !!
When I boot my Defy+, it says "Apex Launcher has stopped working", then ask me to choose Apex Launcher or Trebuchet.
The drawer, menus are still fluid.
Trebuchet is fluid
Do you know why ? How to solve this please ? Thanks

There is already an Apex Launcher thread for people to ask about this stuff as you already know since you posted a link to this there. Post there, don't just start pointless threads. I have the same issue and so do other people. There's a reason it's a beta and not a stable release.

Any way to use HTC widgets without Sense?

Yo,
Like many of you, I've noticed that the default android home program is faster than Sense. I miss having my clock and calendar widgets though.
Any way to get them onto default home without going back to sense?
Thanks
No. Search for alternatives.
I'd say thankyou, as I guess technically you answered my question, but there's no need to be blunt or rude about it. I searched this forum and others before I asked my question and asked it in a fairly polite way.
Basically, if you're going to take the time to write a reply, be civil or keep it to yourself.
I think just using another ROM that not using Sense... many of them you can find it here, in development forum.
Ah okay, so do some of the other roms (like Cyanogen etc) have HTC widgets included or did I just completely misunderstand what you said?
Cheers,
Jenan
Hi,
you can use HTC-widgets only with sense. As for the clock and calendar, take a look at beautiful widgets, I like it more than the one that comes with sense. For a calendar-widget, that looks quite as the one from HTC I bought launcher pro plus, the included calendar-widget looks nearly the same way.
Cheers man, I'll check those out. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it

The question is asked over and over. Having said that, I didn't mean to come across as blunt as I did, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, as I say, I couldn't find it when I searched it. Cheers though, I appreciate your response

That's fair enough. I just did a quick google to test it, and found that I'd have to dig through a few forums to find an answer. I think what it is is that people ask halfway through other, unrelated, threads, instead of opening a new one.

Just in case anybody's wondering or searching for this in the future, i've found the best method - for my purposes - of getting the benefits of the android homescreen and sense in one.
An older version of Fancy Widget I found on rapidshare is the only accurate replacement for the HTC flip clock, I believe it's version 1.2.5
Launcher Pro Plus paid edition has great Sense-like widgets that are actually faster and more responsive than the vanilla sense widgets. It's also hugely customisable and eye-bleedingly fast compared to Sense.
Hope that helps anyone who had the same problems as me
Sorry to say that there is a way better clock widget out there.. Take a look at "world forecast&clock"
It has weather animations as well..
This one is no doubt the one that comes closest to original HTC Sense clock

[Q] Froyo with HTC Sense ID ?

I'm expecting my epic any day now
studying the site for the last few days and came across this :
youtube.com/watch?v=GPrcdbIuWaU
does anyone know which ROM this actuallly is?
thanks!
Hey thanks for joining XDA.
Unfortunately I don't know what ROM that is, but I'm sure someone here will come up with the answer.
And just a heads up (not to pick on but to inform) please post future question threads like these in the General forum. The Development forum is for specifically discussing development. I know there are a lot of bad examples already but the more we can prevent the quicker that will change.
Judging by the title, you're asking because it appears to be HTC Sense UI. It unfortunately is not. It's just a "theme". You can tell by the lockscreen and the system info screen he calls up. It's Froyo build DJ29 (which is one of the Froyo build leaks on this forum). You can however achieve this look even on a stock Epic. The weather clock and some of the toggle widgets (vibrate, wifi, etc) are Beautiful Widgets from the market. The dock and calendar widget are part of LauncherPro, also from the market. Both apps have themes you can download that emulate that HTC Sense UI look. The live wallpaper is Nexus Revamped (you guessed it, from the market). Have fun with your new Epic!

Isn't this the section General for his phone relating to the Samsung Epic 4g?
Thanks los1223. When you say 'stock Epic' do you mean a unrooted Epic with just a simple theme change? .... can't wait to get the Epic... should be here tomorrow...

Yes. You can install the launcher pro app and the beautiful widgets app and theme them. They do not require root to install/customize.
Again, welcome to the community.

Transparent Nav Buttons

Is it possible to have transparent navigation buttons with a third party launcher? I like how it looks on the stock launcher but the stock launcher is to laggy for me. I'd love to be able to have the same affect with a different launcher.
Thanks

Really biting my tongue here...... As a person that spends a fair amount of time reading through these forums I find that comment insulting. I just went through the last 12 pages in this forum looking for a similar question and I found 1, that 1 was not really answered.
I understand that it can be frustrating when the same questions appear over and over, but a comment like that does nothing to add to the conversation and makes people afraid to ask a question when they have them. That right there defeats the whole purpose of this particular forums which is to ask questions and get help.
Ease up on ur panties there slappy, there was a wink behind my comment, which means for the most part I was joking!!!

No worries. I just take a certain level of pride in my willingness to do my research before I break down and ask a question. Not a big deal.

[Q] Unread notifications count on Icons

I am using Omni 4.4.2 27th build on i9100. Can someone please tell me how do i get feature to enable unread count on certain icons?
Not sure it's in the stock ROM. I use nova launcher and missed it, personally.

Nova has the functionality in a separate apk, but it does a license check.
TSF launcher also has it in a separate apk, but that one worked with a ripped version
