Did you set the permissions correctly after you had copied the file?
-EDIT- And by that I mean copy it to /system/media and set permissions to rw-r--r-- ?

Hello,
So today I have decided to dip my brain into a little ROM Development (if you even want to call it that).
I am using this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661770 to do this.
I was going along, got the System files, but now I am stuck, and that is with the Boot.img.
Where do I get the Boot.img to use? Can I download it or do I grab it off my device somehow?
Thanks for all your help in advance!
EDIT: Can someone move this to the Q&A? I guess I was looking at the wrong section when posting. Meant to be in the Q&A!
1. Search around, or pull it from the stock images on google.
2. Since you are lazy to search - click me
Wow, thank you! Did not realize it was in the kernel!?

Hy guys,.. I don't have Razr-M device, but I got your homescreen.apk from here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925609
I've been succesfully edit the background of homescreen launcher's drawer background to transparent and I use it on my wonder .. see attached screenshoot..
So please give me your current App homescreen.apk , if you like too. I'll try to edit its drawer to be transparent .
Thanks
edit :
Description:
Transparent drawer by definition means
you can see the homescreen wallpaper & dock icons in app drawer instead of the default black
background.

Try pushing the apk to system/app and change permissions to rw-r-r
---------- Post added at 05:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:47 PM ----------
Or try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39336732
Just installed that as a normal user app (no pushing to system) and it works fine.

First try installing it like a normal app. If its not working then you can move on to installing it as a system app.
Could you be more clear with the problem that occurs when you try to push apps to system?

To all what had been said. Whilst restoring. Or changing ROM's stock vs custom usually, almost always the system partition gets formatted, cleaned so there couldn't be any leftovers anyways. (not in system)
