Play store force closing - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

All of a sudden my play store won't open, I went to download a app and then shot right back to my home screen, more when I go to open it and Ford right back to my home screen. I'm not rooted and I've cleared data, cache, uninstalled updates and reinstalled the play store with no luck, still the same. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue interestingly enough... I powered down the tablet and restarted and it seems to have corrected the issue.

Every app is auto starting after it is installed

Kind of annoying... is there a setting to stop this? Or I may have got some malware?

I've never heard of this. After installing an app in the Play Store, it just opens by itself?
I'm not exactly sure what you mean either, but I find it an enlightening process to use something like Autostarts every now and then to keep an eye on new apps and widgets to see when they're triggering themselves.

Well, basically it's every app, no matter l install from play store or I side load an apk. It wasn't like this initially, but I cannot figure out what triggered this.

I just tried and it works fine.
Have you tried deleting your user data for the Netflix app? Go to Settings->apps-> and delete the user data. You will have to re-enter your account info but that usually clears up any minor issues with apps.
If you are using custom roms, this might be cause by other issues though.

Mine does that too. I thought it may be an issue with forcing GPU rendering, but disabling that didn't fix it. I had the same issue back when I had a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and it was just as annoying.

Hi. Every time I try to access the Google play store via chrome to check the availability of devices it kicks me through to the store apply on my phone. No device buying there! Any idea how to stop this please?

you might try seeing if it's set as a “default" in your app settongs

Ah thanks that did it. New to Android. Just cleared defaults. Thanks again

FYI you might still not be able to buy from the phone. I tried doing that and I got stuck at the buy button. I would tap on it but nothing would happen.
Ok thanks Ryan

You could try clearing download manager data as well.
Bump..no luck with clearing download manager data

How large are the games? I had the issue with an update to "Angry Birds Space Premium" which is 46.07 MB, so I moved closer to the WiFi AP and retried again, which worked. You could also try disabling "Wi-Fi optimization" in "Advanced Wi-Fi" settings.
Kinda like that apps that are 40mb up..will try and report back

Are you trying to update an existing app?
Log into your Playstore account on a PC and make sure your N4 is set as active and then try and push the install from the PC.
